THE AFTERMATH

The moment I got the doctor's clearance to walk out of the hospital, that's exactly what I did.

Merrick wanted me to head to the pack house first for lunch, but I wasn't hungry. I had been either asleep or sitting around for too long.

I needed to stretch my legs and probably shift, Ares needed to be let out.

"Maybe you should slow down." Merrick suggested as he tried to catch up with me. "You might be over exerting yourself." He warned.

I simply shook my head and continued to walk away from the hospital. I wanted to get as far away from that place as possible.

The pack hospital was quite a distance from the rest of the community, our ancestors built it this way so that those that were injured from attacks or fighting wouldn't become worse off casualties.

"Where was the worst of the damage?" I asked Merrick as we passed the center of our community.
