Chapter 16 - Hunting Wolves

The sound of howling wolves echoes throughout the hall.

"Wh-what was that?" I nervously asked as I unconsciously gripped my shotgun tighter.

Pathfinder, Johnny and Marion looked towards the fallen soldier in question. The soldier only laughed and pointed at us.

"It's here! Our Military Monsters! It's going to ravage you lot apart!"

Military monsters?! Those bio engineered monstrosity is going to rip us apart? I looked towards Johnny and Pathfinder. The two nodded and gestured a hand to follow them.

"Oi, we're leavin' no use to stay and fight those beasts."

"That's right! Leave you cowards!" Yelled the soldier to us.

"And you're coming with us." Johnny said to the soldier calmly with a grin on his face.

"Wa-wait what?!" Without answering the soldier Johnny picked up the guy like a sack of potatoes and hoisted him on his shoulder.

Without waiting for a signal, we then ran away from the hall that we were before. We ran as fast as we could, climbing the stairs to get to the topside.

"Geez! How the hell did they got the space to field all of these military beasts anyway?!" Complained Johnny to the rest of us as we continues to run away.

"There has to be another way inside the ruins aside the one that we used!" Answered pathfinder to Johnny.

"Less talking more running!" I told to them as we ran faster than ever.

I then heard the sound of teeth gnashing and ominous roaring getting closer as we ran. Before I knew it The girl that I dragged by the arm brushed my hand that was holding her to ran with us. Her power broke through the hold that I held her easily.

"Wha-" I then slowed a bit and and looked back at the girl she stood there still in front of the military beast. As I looked at them I can see clearly the beasts running towards us, some sort of a cyborg wolves are chasing us and the girl stood in front of her.

"O-oi What are you doing?!" I slowed down my running and looked towards the girl who stopped in front of the military beasts.

Seeing this one of the military beast pounced at her with vigor ready to devour the girl with gusto. However instead of being turned into a meal the girl instead quickly dodged the attack and punched the military beast into the wall instantly killing it from the impact. The other military beasts seeing their comrade got punched into oblivion also pounced at the girl.

The same as the before the girl punched at one of the military beasts, the beasts got punched and hits the other military beasts, killing the both of them with one stone. Defeating all of the beasts that was followed us before.

"O-oi, oi, You're joking right?" I said out loud after seeing them got incapacitated by a little girl that looked like the same age as my little sister.

I looked back to Johnny and Pathfinder and found them also seeing the girl with a flabbergasted expression on their face. The girl then looked towards us with a blank expression on her face.

"Pursuer, eliminated." She said calmly to us.

"Oi, oi, you're joking right?"

"Unbelievable."

"We-well… at least we can now start running right?" I said to the three of my companions.

"No, we still gotta run, if there's a bunch of military beasts following us, there has to be a squad following them, we don't have the element of surprise anymore, So now we gotta skedaddle."

"Alright, alright!"

We then continue to run as fast as we can to reach the upper level from where we was coming from. I can hear the sound of radio chatter coming behind us

"There they are! Blast them!"

The soldiers having caught up with us immediately fired their weapons at us.

"Oh oh! Alright let's hurry up and skedaddle!"

I Then grabbed Marion's hand and dragged her to run together away from the soldiers. Seeing this the soldiers fired wildly at us their bullets. I can hear the buzzing sound of bullets heading towards our direction, heck I reckon some could've have hit us if we didn't ran and dodged them. But are they really imperial soldiers? Their Aim Sucks! We then ran into a large hall.

"O-oi! Why are you guys runnin' away?!"

"Times up Johnny!"

"Ready your weapons! We got tango following us!" Yelled pathfinder.

We then stopped and looked back. The room is filled with hunters that's currently prospecting the ruins. The soldiers then followed suit and entered the large hall. In an instant all of the hunters following Pathfinder's command brandished their weapons towards the soldiers that's currently following us. From Pistols, Assault Rifles, Melee weapons, and others all of them are aimed at the imperial soldiers.

The soldiers then stopped and immediately made a u-turn back into the tunnels.

"Retreat! Retreat!" Yelled one of the soldiers.

Seeing the soldiers retreated back to the tunnels, some of the hunter chased after them while some stayed at the hall. One of the hunters then approached us, it was one of the hunters that we met before we entered the ruins.

"Geez, Imperial Remnants really? Just what kind of troubles that you guys ran into."

"Hey, they just appeared just like that. It's not like we can help it." Said Johnny to the hunter.

"Well at least the boys and gals had something to do right now. We didn't really find anything worthwhile while we're searching this place."

"Alright, we'll be heading back topside then. We're already collected much materials as much as we could." Pathfinder said to the hunter.

"Oh, that explain why we couldn't find anything worthwhile…" Told the hunter in a dejected tone. "Guess we're just looking for the scrapes at this point."

"Yeah, sorry about that. Seeya 'round later." We then headed back to the surface. As we head topside we made some small talk about random things until finally we were greeted by the dark skies. I wish that it were a ray of sunlight that welcomes us but with the current atmospherical storm that kind of thing is wishful thinking.

Well at least that concludes the delve into the dungeon for now.
