Late at night, silence fell over the surroundings but the sound of people working in the rice paddies could be heard.
The Big River Village was lit up brightly, even though it was late at night the torches and lamps that were given to the children were burning fiercely. The children of the village walked past the fields and made sure that the paddies were brightly lit.
While the women worked in the paddies, the mers went home and brought back a pot of sour and sweet plum soup along with a large bowl of cold noodles.
"Where did you get such fine noodles?" Village Head Gu asked her husband. She took a bite of the cold noodles and felt all the heat in her body dissipate. She was so tired after working all day long that she couldn't even open her eyes.
Taking a sip of the soup plum soup along with a bite of the cold noodles, the woman let out a sigh of contentment.
