Chap 21

"I am the one you mortals know as Necar the goddess of water and you are here so that I can fulfill my promise."

Once again the world changed.

We went from being in that immense sea where you could only see the blue of the sky and the water joining in the horizon to being on firm ground.

It seemed to be an island, surrounded by a vast sea but it had a valley where the self-proclaimed goddess and I were.

The goddess gave a gentle wave of her hand, causing a finely decorated table to appear, like those used for the tea parties of the nobles.

She gave another motion that resulted in the appearance of tea-making tools and two chairs on which we sat, though my body moved on its own toward the chair.

Steam rose from the cups that had once been filled with a clear tea.

-Sorber.

The goddess spent some time sipping her tea with a satisfied smile until at last, she met her eyes with mine.

An immense pressure fell and flooded every last part of my body, immobilizing me.

-Haaa...

My breathing became heavy and every second seemed eternal.

"For us to talk, you must understand the difference between you and me."

-Ruuumble.

The pressure intensified and became tangible to the point of breaking the ground beneath me.

"It's been millennia since I last talked to a human and I don't have a good experience with them."

I didn't need to look into her face to know the feeling she was currently conveying.

One of immense displeasure.

"I can't understand the reason why this me would make a promise with a human, your talent is special but it's not enough, plus I fail to understand why the person I got to make the promise with wanted me to give you answers."

-Haaa...

As the goddess spoke the pressure that flooded me and immobilized every part of my body lowered to a significant degree, allowing me to take in large gulps of air.

"But I guess I have to do it... A god never fails his promises."

At the sound of the goddess' words, my body rose into the air, the floor and chair that had been destroyed returned to their original state, and once again on its own, my body moved towards the chair.

"Your hair is similar to mine, plus I can feel traces of divine energy in you, so I guess you must be your good self."

The goddess paused in her speech and at the same time my eyes moved of their own accord until they met hers

"...What is it you want to know, tell me."

Instantly my head cleared and thousands of doubts and questions ran through it, but among them all there was one that echoed throughout my mind.

I opened my mouth, but for some reason, it trembled and my throat closed disabling my speech, I forced every part of my body and will manage to spit out my question."

"Is this world... is it real?"

...A sepulchral silence filled the world created by the goddess for lack of an answer from her.

Her mouth opened parting her pair of exquisite sky blue lips.

"Hahahahahahahaha!"

And to my surprise, a crazy curl came out of her.

I was dismayed, I didn't know what to do, why is she laughing.

Thousands of unknowns flooded me but were instantly and repeatedly cut off by a bolt of blue light.

-Gaaaaahhhhhhhh!

A pain I never knew the human body could generate shot through my body, from the soles of my feet to the tips of my hair on my head.

I felt my body writhe in spasms as it became clammy and a smell of metal flooded my nostrils.

I opened my eyes with difficulty as I forced myself to ignore the pain in my body that hurt like hell.

I moved my gaze as fast as I could downward and what I saw dismayed me so much that the pain disappeared for a few seconds.

From my stomach protruded a beautiful blue spear that seemed to pierce my entire torso.

From the spear dripped streams of blood that together with the blood on the ground should be enough to kill me three times over.

Tump thump, ba boom, ba bump

My heart pounded like crazy as I watched the spear slowly move backward and out of my body, it hurt so much that I couldn't even scream.

-Spurt.

A spurt of blood came out of my body, which fell from the chair that had not been destroyed by the impact of the spear.

"Tell me human, you think this 'world' is fake? Although I don't know what you mean by that, it seems you hadn't suffered enough to be able to answer your question."

Following the goddess' words, a small stream of water moved towards the hole left by the spear in my stomach and slowly seeped into it, causing it to regenerate at an extremely fast speed.

I felt the blood circulating properly through my body again, causing my consciousness to be fully restored.

No longer shocked my body lifted back into the air and positioned itself back in the chair.

"Now, any other questions?"

I hesitated in my words as I listened to his, I didn't want what happened before to happen again.

But I couldn't ignore all the questions I had either, so I had to take a chance.

"...Me, I want to know, what is my purpose?"

The look in the goddess' eyes changed for the first time and she seemed hesitant to answer me until with a sigh she opened her mouth.

"Truly humans are fools, I am the goddess of water not the one of destiny, besides the one who made the promise prevented me from telling too much, damn it even I don't know what happened."

Replied the goddess while sighing and mumbling a bunch of things in the form of complaint that was not audible to me.

"Haaa~. You know what, I think you better see for yourself, I just want to get rid of you."

The instant he finished his words the world in my eyes spun a thousand times and slowly turned black.

The fog-like darkness disappeared little by little until it was replaced by a beautiful sight.

A green valley with flowers of different colors spread everywhere, but among all those beautiful places there was one that stood out above the rest.

A gigantic tree with thousands of long, leafy, beautiful branches was planted above the valley, and beneath it, a woman was lying on its wide trunk.

Traka-Traka.

Suddenly the sound of an intense rattling woke the woman from her rest, she opened her eyes slowly, revealing a pair of orchid-purple irises that repeated color in her long hair that fell to her knees.

-Neiiiigh.

The sound of horses neighing and advancing toward the woman echoed throughout the valley.

Riding the horses, there were more than two hundred soldiers who stopped about 100 meters away from the woman.

-Thud.

Among all those present there was a man who lightly tapped the side of his horse and advanced without pause in the direction of the woman.

She also approached, although with long, slow steps.

-Tap.

The heavily armored man leaped from his hair and landed on his two feet on the ground.

A heavy, sepulchral silence suffocated the atmosphere as the woman and the man approached and positioned themselves facing each other.

The man spoke, but his words did not reach my ears and it seemed that the same thing happened to the woman who only remained still in her place until she gradually moved her right hand to her waist.

-Clang!

Suddenly, the sound of a metal clang was produced in the place where the woman and the man were.

The dust flooded my sight and I was unable to see what had happened, just as the dust was settling the world spun around again and became the same black mist as before.

The sensation of being underwater, which was black flooded me.

It was the same sensation I had felt when I jumped off the railing before coming to this world.

I spent an uncountable amount of time in the darkness until I felt my consciousness and the light return.

It took me a while to open my eyes but what I saw when I opened them left me in shock.

Thousands and thousands of people.

Every one of them looking in a single direction.

The place where they were looking was a small balcony, which somehow seemed to be enlarged as if it were a photo.

On the balcony was the same purple-haired woman but now I could see her features.

She was beautiful and the clothes she was wearing made her look even more so.

A thin long blue coat, which made a carpet behind her decorated her body.

Suddenly the soundless mouths of the thousands of people watching the image closed.

An old woman with light blue hair approached the woman, who knelt on her knees and kissed the old woman's hand.

At the same time, two young men approached with a pillow on which rested a crown.

The crown was golden with mostly blue and some black and white stones, from it, emanated a feeling of authority and power.

The old woman took the beautiful crown and slowly placed it on the woman's head.

-Aaaaahhhhhhh!!! !!!!

At that moment my ears seemed to pop as thousands of celebratory voices reached my eardrums, making them tremble.

Among all those happy faces there was one that did not show true happiness.

That of the woman, who despite having a beautiful smile on her face, for some reason conveyed sadness and loneliness to me.

Absorbing that beautiful but sad smile, my world turned black again.

-Clang!

Before I could even think of anything, the sound of clanging metal filled me.

-Gahhhh!

I didn't need to open my eyes to know where I was.

A battlefield.

Thousands of people, who regardless of their race were fighting each other was the only thing my eyes could sing.

There were so many bodies spilling their blood, that the ground had turned red and wet.

In addition, together with a thick red fog, it gave the feeling of being in the apocalypse that was being talked about on earth.

-BAAANG!

In an instant, all the sounds were suppressed and replaced by an explosion that reverberated a few meters away from me.

Frantically all the fighting soldiers turned in search of the source of the explosion.

The dust in the distance dissipated and a clear shape came into view.

The purple-haired woman.

An immense amount surrounded her, as she moved and generated colors, it was like the phenomenon of the aurora borealis.

Thousands of colors danced like her long hair.

-Trakaaa!

A few meters in front of her the light and rattling lightning seemed to respond to the woman's mana.

-Ruuumble!-Zap!

A lightning bolt contracted and moved at inhuman speed in the direction of the woman.

She placed her hands on the hilt of a rapier, which she unsheathed.

-Claaang!

The sound of the rapier and the sword surrounded by lightning clashing echoed like a bomb on the battlefield.

-Booooom!

The force exerted by the two individuals was so great that it split the ground beneath them.

Time seemed to stand still as the two looked at each other.

The woman with platinum blue hair and the man with platinum blue hair.

But unlike the man, the woman's eyes held the same sadness.

Seeing those beautiful but sad eyes, the world spun back to black.

When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in the world of the goddess.

But lying on the ground and surrounded by finely carved stone statues...
