Chapter Two

I ended up coming with Nathan and Alexis to the club. I hate places that reek of alcohol and cigarettes, with people making out like hell. Can they just go to a hotel or whatever? But Alexis forced me, and I couldn't refuse.

She's dancing in the middle while holding a bottle of beer. I sighed deeply. No wonder I am here, even though I hate this place. I can't leave her alone like that. She's a hyper girl.

"Want to dance?" I glared at Nathan and immediately answered, "No, thank you." I gestured my hands to shoo him away. "Go away and flirt with someone."

He chuckled and held my hand. "See that one dude out there? He keeps looking this way, especially at you."

I looked in the direction he pointed, and he was right. "Maybe he's into you?" I jokingly said. I saw how his face turned sour. "Please, I respect gay people, but I can't imagine myself like that. Am I valid?" We both laughed.

Nathan excused himself later, and I was left sitting alone.

"Hey." A guy sat next to me. I gave him a look that was straight to the point. "Do I know you? Why did you sit here?" look. He was the guy Nathan pointed at earlier.

"I noticed you earlier and I can't help myself. I wanted to know you." The guy spouted nonsense. I rolled my eyes in secret. "I am not interested," I replied without hesitation.

I looked at Alexis in the crowd. I saw her dancing like shit with some girls in the crowd. I smiled a bit. She's really something. Does she even know those people?

"I see. You're the type of pretty girl who likes girls." My gaze instantly went back to the guy beside me. "Excuse me?

He put his hands in mid-air and said, "Don't get me wrong. I am not homophobic. I get it. I won't bother you anymore." As if he were surrendering. I stopped him when he stood up.

"You're practically correct but also not exactly correct. How did you know that?" Why did I stop him and ask that bullshit? I just hope he won't get the message and leave.

He sat down again. "You look at her like she's the prettiest person in your eyes."

I bit my lips. Was I that obvious? If this person realized it, what about those people I knew around me? Shit.

"Catalina!" I heard a giggle behind me. "Let's go dance. Come on!" I looked up when Alexis hugged me from behind. She rested her head, and I could feel her breath in my neck. She's drunk as hell.

I saw the dude I was talking to earlier smile. "I'll go now. You can do it." Then he vanished. Now I have to take care of this drunken lady.

She's still standing, and she suddenly spoke. "Who's that guy?" I got chills when her breath landed on my neck. Her voice was calm and cold.

"I don't know," I responded. She's still hugging me. "Lina, I want to go home now." Seriously? She even called me by my nickname.

"What about Nathan?" She adjusted her footing and stood up firmly. "Let's ditch him."

That dude is probably busy flirting, so we left him. Alexis decided to sleepover at our house, so we went home. I saw my big brother drinking coffee on the balcony. He didn't say a word when Alexis and I entered my room. She's very drunk. I felt like I was dragging a sack of rice on the way home.

I tossed her onto my bed. Cleaned her face. Got rid of her sandals. I positioned her for a good sleep. The spirits of this room know how badly I wanted to change her clothes; she reeks of alcohol and sweat, but I refrained from doing so. It was for my own good.

"Lina!" I panicked when Alexis yelled. It turned out she was still sleeping. Sleep talk, huh? But why is she mentioning my name?

I stared at her face. She's sleeping peacefully, while here I am struggling. I struggle with taking care of her drunk ass and refraining from doing something I might regret later. I sighed deeply and kissed her forehead after whispering, "Goodnight, ma'am."

I went to the sofa next to the bed. I decided to sleep there. I was about to close my eyes when I heard Alexis talking again. "I hate seeing you talking to someone else. Please.. ststhshss."

What?
