Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Entry 85:

Linus Ozias POV:

Another two days pass, and in addition to having ten more charges that I use to increase my magic regeneration and psychic defense, respectively, I also gain another tech tree from this universe of all things.

As I combed through the knowledge I had gained, it was mostly just more schematics on the other sacred gears, and there are many of them.

Each of them is given innate potential with the possibility of becoming subspecies balance breakers, and with this tech tree comes knowledge of each type of magic. 

These sacred gears could go further, but that will be for future research.

It has been four days since my training began, and thankfully, my broken limiter is paying off splendidly. As I have reached peak god class in my base.

To test my god mode, I teleported to the Dimensional Gap so that I may not damage the world around me.

So, as I pull on the spark I hold within me, the number of my wings increases to 14 and glow in blue/golden light, and I feel the void around me envelop me and a presence approaching me.

I send lay my eyes upon the strongest being in this world, Great Red, The Dragon of Dreams, the strongest dragon in this world and the one that pulls power from the dreams across this world.

He stares at me as if taking in my form, and I feel a presence in my mind, but with my increased psychic defense, it feels like he's knocking on the door.

I allow him inside as I do not sense any ill intent, and he asks in a booming voice, "Who are you? I have known many beings through my millions of years of existence, and even the original light did not feel like you."

I confidently answer, "I am Anakim, the Last Angel of the Lord and the Archangel of Control. I have come to the Dimensional Gap to test my new powers as I do not wish to damage Heaven or the Earth."

The dragon's power then begins to envelop the Dimensional Gap around us as the area around us warps in the dimensions seemingly begins to crack as our powers meet in the middle. After a couple of minutes of posturing, he pulls back, seeming impressed.

"I approve of your power, angel, and may you eventually join beings like me and Ophis. We have meetings on Tuesdays." He then smirks as he does flips and tricks deeper into the Gap. I watch as the tricks are pretty sweet for such a giant dragon.

But I can understand the Infinite Dragon God as Great Red's presence feels like an unending voice as he is a representation of the dreams of the Earth. He can both pull power from them and embody them simultaneously.

So, as I practice my powers within the void, I spread out some probes to search the gap, and if they find any trace of the Alien Gods, to report back to me, and I need not worry about the Mechagods sensing their technology. Thank you, Tinker of Fiction, for coming in clutch.

In addition to the fact that I may find out the inner workings of the Dimensional Gap, it could act like a pseudo webway from the Warhammer universe as the Dimensional Gap represents the space or the immaterial between worlds.

Things to study for later: I would explore this space more, but I am genuinely fearful that I  may trigger some response from external threats, and it seems like Michael is trying to contact me.

"Brother Anakim, I have a new assignment for you if you choose to accept it." I respond, "I read you, Brother Michael. What is the mission?" He pauses before saying, "We need you to meet with the Norse Pantheon as we have heard news of Loki's possible involvement with the Khaos Brigade."

I am somewhat shocked as Asgard is somewhat isolationist in their Realm as they are constantly combatting threats from both Jotenheim and Muspelheim.

How the world tree works in this world is rather complicated as each Realm is a kind of pocket dimension that is separate from the Dimensional Gap and a part of it, with Midgard being the connecting tissue between each Realm.

Think of the Yggdrasil as one of the pillars of the world, similar to Atlas holding up the sky, which he is still doing. Still, luckily, it seems like this world is not crossed over with Percy Jackson. Kronos is dead, just like Ouranos, as they are so dissipated they have no hopes of forming a consciousness.

More often than not, when Frost or Fire Giants enter this world, they leave terrible destruction as it was the Frost Giants that caused the ice age in the first place as they attempted to open a Gateway between their Realm and Midgard, with the Fire Giants being the definitive example of beings that get off of setting things on fire.

Laufey and Surtur are constantly looking to open up gateways to this world, with both leaders being God class in their own right.

Luckily, this is not the Fate verse, and Surtur does not have access to his Noble Phantasm, the sword Laevatein, which is literally a sword that can kill anything that has flesh.

While both are dangerous as they represent both extremes, they are often unable to leave their Realm because their weakness is that they cannot exist at room temperature and must heat or cool the Earth enough to live.

My assumptions lead me to believe that Loki is seeking an alliance with them, and with the help of the Khaos Brigade, they may be able to bridge the gap between the realms and lead to an invasion of Midgard. This is unprecedented, but such is the butterfly effect.

"I accept the mission, Michael, and I hope what I am assuming does not occur," I say as Michael gives me the coordinates needed to meet the emissary of the Norse.

I leave the Gap and transform back into my regular angel form but find my wings have taken on a more golden hue.

I grab my spear and sword and put my armor on as I teleport to the coordinates given. As I teleport there, I find a Valkyrie waiting for me, and luckily, it is Rossweisse as she stands in a business suit outside of what looks like a large plain of grass and mountains.

As she notices me, she quickly dusts herself off, approaches me, and bows slightly to me, which I return to give her the same respect.

"Lord Anakim, I am Valkyrie Rossweisse, Assistant to Lord Odin, and I am here to guide you to Asgard. She then forms a multitude of runes in the air as I immediately use my analysis magic to analyze them to hopefully recreate primordial runes.

The plain of grass then warps and changes into a rainbow bridge as the mountains then transform into a large city with many tall towers scraping the sky with the smell of booze and sweat emanating from various pubs and bars that dot the city.

Rossweisse then beckons me to follow her, which I do while removing my helmet and armor, which causes her to blush slightly. It is quite adorable, like a bunny running around.

Unlike Yasaka, who exudes confidence and faux seductiveness, Rossweisse exemplifies innocent charm and intellect. If I can get her to join me, it would be amazing for a multitude of reasons.

So I initiate conversation, "So Lady Rossweisse, how did you come to serve Lord Odin?"

She then turns to me and says proudly, "I was chosen based on a variety of factors, from my grades and studies of magic to recommendations from my grandmother Goindul, but it does come with its caveats."

I then smile and say, "Well, I would consider Lord Odin quite lucky that he got such an intelligent and beautiful woman such as yourself aiding him, as ruling Asgard must be quite difficult with such enthusiastic personalities running about."

Her face then explodes into a large blush as smoke begins to exude from her ears, which I very much do not understand but then attribute to anime logic as I continue, "I could see from the runes that you created when forming the gateway that you are very adept at magic, and I hope that you may show me more if we are to gain an alliance."

She then begins to walk faster, as do I, to keep up as she says with high speed and a smile on her face, "ThereisnothingspecialaboutmeLordAnakimpleasestop." (There is nothing special about me, Lord Anakim. Please stop.)

I laugh, which makes her frown but chuckle at our exchange, but she breathes in and out as she states, "I very much appreciate your compliments, but I am still learning, and I have much I need to study." 

I look at her and say, "You are right, and it is that humbleness that makes my opinion of you rise even higher as I believe I have an eye for people, and who knows, we may be working together even closer in the future."

"E…Even closer?" The blush returns for a sequel, but the conversation is cut short as we reach the palace's main gate.

"This is going to be a fun trip," I think as we enter the palace.
