Fight Back, Young Miss Wang!

"Someone please get Dr. Kang!"

Wheeled in a stretcher was a body covered in blood and torn clothes, a bloodied hand hung from the stretcher as a nurse and paramedics ran down the hallway. Several voices began to call out for the medical director.

"Dr. Kang!"

Not many people were at the local hospital at that time of the night, the few that were there looked with fright at the person that was just brought in, noticing the trail of blood on the floor.

A strickingly handsome man in white lab coat strode into the room, looking at the people that surrounded the stretcher and the person on it.

A disfigured face was what met the eyes of the doctor, he could tell from the way the chest rose and fell weakly that it was that of a female.

"Dr. Kang! Thank goodness you're here!"

The voice belonged to the nurse that stood at the foot of the stretcher, while a male paramedic was at the other end with his colleague at the middle of the stretcher.

"Give me an update."

Kang Yu spoke in a curt tone, as he waited for a report on the unidentified woman that was brought into his hospital.

"24 year female with blunt trauma from a car accident, suspected internal bleeding and broken bones. Vitals are unstable with spike in temperature, airway is may be compromised..."

"Was she on oxygen?"

The doctor interrupted the paramedic giving report to know of the woman's respiration status.

"Not yet, since she's been able to breath on her own and is also has a pulse."

Kang Yu began to examine the woman right there in the hallway, as curious eyes from the nurse's station and other patients were following his every move.

"You say she was in a car accident, where are the others that were with her?"

The paramedic shifted on his feet, when he got to the scene of the accident which strangely enough was in a deserted place, he and his partner saw no one except the woman whom they had to pull from the backseat of the damaged car.

"There was no one except her."

Kang Yu raised a questioning look at the man, but no other word came out of his mouth.

"Ermmm...Doctor, don't you think we need to move the patient to another place, so as to give her privacy?"

The doctor kept on with what he was doing, as though no one spoke, this made the nurse to shake her head in disapproval.

After a brief period, Kang Yu raised his head to say, "She'll need to be wheeled to the operating room, I want it set and running in no time!"

"But doctor, we don't have enough staff to assist you during surgery!"

"Nurse Lee, how long have you been a nurse?!"

"Dr. Kang, this will be my 17th year as a nurse."

"Are you ready to retire from your job?"

"..."

The nurse who was about forty years of age, seemed to age further as she was been questioned by Kang Yu, she stared at him not knowing what to say in response to his pricking words.

Two of the nurses got up from where they sat at the nurse's station and hurried in the direction of the operating room to get in ready for the surgery that was to commence shortly.
