Letting out a soft sigh from my mouth, I uttered some more words to myself while looking at the transparent screen in front of my eyes.

"Should I go to the Doctor? But I feel all sane and healthy now, I am not hallucinating, right?"

I try to touch the transparent, holographic screen in front of my eyes.

And of course, my fingers just go through the "screen" like it is just an illusion.

"Is someone playing a prank by casting an illusion spell on me? If so, then this is not funny at all."

My name is Vansesda Viradhi.

Currently now I am having a "talk" with a voice inside my head while looking at an illusory screen in front of my eyes.

Guess that's what will happen if you lock up yourself inside your room and playing game nonstop for God knows how many months it have been.

I am not like this in the past, okay?

I used to have a good family, a beautiful girlfriend who is also the childhood friend living next door & praised as a promising genius among the young generations in my city.

I am a straight A student in my class, with good scores in both academics and sports, have a handsome face and plenty of wealth due to me being a rich second generation because both of my parents are high ranking adventurers.

I have no lack of girls flocking to me either for my face, my brain or my pockets.

But only with the childhood friend who is living next door is my heart can beat furiously.

She is an angelic beauty with luscious cherry pink hair and charming purple eyes whose gentle look can stir the heart of everyone, be they are boys or girls.

And only to her I give all of my heart.

We have spent so many romantic times together, from me confessing my love and kissing her under the fireworks in the middle of a summer night when she accepts my proposal.

Going around the town and touring many places during autumn and spent our first night together warming ourselves up under the same blanket while the night of winter outside is filled with cold breeze.

Both of our parents also knows of our relationship and they even blessed us, we are just missing a marriage certificate to lawfully register our love in a pledge of a lifetime oath.

Sadly the law only allowed those who have been coming of age to register for a marriage certificate.

And when it comes to the coming of age, it is also the time for the Awakening Ceremony to be held for the young.

And that's when everything begun to go downhill for me.

In the world on which we live in, that are called Zeravia, when the students have graduated from high school and thus have completed their 12 years of compulsory education, at that time everyone will be gathered at the City Hall to get their Awakening Ceremony that are being held by the government for the young generations.

As the name said, Awakening Ceremony is a ritual to awaken the potential that is slumbering within a person.

In the World of Zeravia, aside from the normal people that occupies the almost one third of the population, there are also people who have special skills and magical powers.

The general population will have their Awakening Ceremony when they are coming of age, that is, after they graduate from high school.

After participating in that Ritual, some people will awaken their superpowers, while others are not.

Usually, 1 out of 3 people will have a special skill awakened after the Ritual, the skills ranging from mastery over weapons or martial arts to skills like stealing, hiding in plain sight or smithing.

Another 1 out of 3 people will have their magical powers awakened, usually in the form of mastery over elements or some quirky magic like hypnosis or charming person.

And the remaining one? Trash. Skill-less and magic-less people. An absolutely normal human being without any superpower whatsoever.

And I happen to be that last one.

As for my girl?

Heh, she awakens three abilities at once.

The first is a healing ability, she can heal people just by touching their wounds.

The second is holy element attack, she can conjure a flash of light to strike her enemy, that attack of hers are confirmed to be super effective against dark and undead creatures, which are the nemesis of mankind .

Las but not least, her third ability is conjuring a pair of wings made from white light. Not only did her movement become faster while she spread her wings, but she can also fly high in the sky.

She is really an angel of my heart.

That's what I thought until the day after, she comes to my place, sobbing and apologising to me before she dumped me and go to another man.

Yeah, I, the skill-less and magic-less person, got his heart broken by my angelic lover and spent many months later locking myself in my room and playing video games to vent my frustration.....
