Chapter 7: I wish him well.

Both Alyssa and Jordan were put in daze . Was this man really meaning those words or ...

" Sir , What are you talking about ? " Alyssa asked in disbelief .

" You have to get married to me. " David repeated in clear tone nonchalantly.

" But sir I....." Alyssa tried to mutter out but Jordon stopped her .

" Alyssa , That's the only way to end your debt. And besides that it's just a fake marriage. " He said

" But hoe do l believe you ? " Alyssa ashes turning her gaze to Jordon.

" It's just a contract marriage. You will just have to act as my wife in public. That's all . " David explained.

" But why do you need a ride all of sudden ? " Alyssa asked.

" I want to become the mayor of the city but it's impossible since I divorced my wife. I can't compete unless my wife is dead so ...I really need you. " David said trying to be polite.

" And Ms Alyssa , Remember failure to do this. You will lose everything. " Jordon reminded.

Alyssa kept silent for a while thinking through it. But it was easy anyway Afterlol it wasn't going to be real.

" I will marry you . " She finally declared.

" That's good. The contract is here , You have to sign it." Jordon said giving her the file.

Alyssa got the file and read through it which after she got the pen and signed.

" Good job. You are now free to leave. " David informed.

Alyssa got up and left the hotel. She was worried about this thing but at least she was glad that this man didn't ask for her body. At least the debt was going to be paid and everything was going to go back to normal.

That evening , Alyssa returned home and told Gladys everything that had happened. She was so happy that it was just a contract marriage but wait

" What if that man falls in love with you ? " Gladys asked in worry.

" Mom , Let's just pray that he won't use me for anything. " Alyssa muttered.

' That's so good. Am going to become an in.law of one of the wealthiest families in the city. What a luck ! ' Gladys said innery as she looked at her daughter whom she was so proud of now .

" So when is the wedding ? " Gladys asked pretending that she was concerned .

" He haven't told my but am sure it has to be as soon as possible . " Alyssa says .

" Does he have any children or anything like that ? " Gladys asked.

" I don't know much about that. I will try to do my research. " Alyssa said sadly.

" Dear , Don't worry about anything. Good enough you've saved me , My shop and the property your father left us with. " Gladys mattered giving Alyssa a hug.

Calcel has just returned home when he recieved a call from Juliana.

" Mom , You have finally called ? " Calcel asked happily.

" Of course I missed you so much my son. How are you ? " Juliana said.

" Am fine Mom. How about you. How is Clere ? " Calcel asked.

" We are all doing great. We really miss you already. "

" I miss you too Mom. " Calcel gasped.

" How is your father doing ? " Juliana asked.

" He's still planning to get married. " Calcel said his voice lowering sadly.

" Oh...I wish him well. " Juliana spoke sadly.

" But Mom , Are you really fine with this ? " Calcel wanted to know.

" I just hope that the woman he's getting married to is worthy it. Otherwise I really want him to fullfil his dream of becoming a mayor. " Juliana murmured.

" But you would give him another chance " Calcel muttered.

" Dear , It's not as easy as you think. I annoyed your father so much and it's still hard for him to forgive me. " Juliana said

" But I can convince him. "

" No need for that son.I will hang up." Juliana said not wanting to talk about this with Calcel.

" Okay Mom. Send greetings to Clere. " Calcel said and ended the call after this.

" Calcel , You are just here ? " Jenny who had been watching him asked as she walked to him.

" Yes. Where is Dad ? " Calcel asked.

" He went to meet his lawyer. " Jenny answered.

" Oh...I will have my shower first . Inform me when he returns. " Calcel said and went to his room.

As soon as he was out of sight David arrived.

" Welcome back sir." Jenny said with a smile.

" Thanks. Where is Calcel ? " David asked.

" He just went to his room . " Jenny answered.

" I want to meet him on dinner. Please inform him.." David said.

" He also wanted to talk to you. I will tell him right away. " Jenny said.

After dinner , David called Calcel to find him in his room's parlor. Calcel entered and found his father waiting for him with two glasses of red wine. He walked slowly and sat opposite him.

" Dad , I have something ask you . " Calcel said glaring at David.

" I already found the woman. " David said putting Calcel in daze. Didn't he tell him that he was still looking for one.

Hearing this , Calcel got the other glass of wine and gulped it down.

" Aha....How comes you have got her that quick ? " Calcel asked amused.

" I also didn't expect it to be so fast. The wedding will take place the next weekend. I want Clere to be here with us. " David informed.

" But Dad , Are you really that shameless. How can you....." Calcel was arguing when David cut him midway.

" I have already and I don't need your opinion. " David said with no sign of joking.

Calcel nodded his head and then got up to leave when David's words stopped him again.

" Tomorrow you have to meet her. I will inform you when she gets time to. " David declared as he gulped another sip.

" I will be busy with work. " Calcel said and continued on his way out of the room.

David got up from the couch and walked to the bedside table. He pulled out one of the drawers where he got a photo of him and Juliana on their wedding day.
