AZALEL POV

"WRONG MOVE, AZA!!"

Reuben keeps ranting and walking back and forth in front of me with a scrunched face.

"What the hell were you thinking, huh?"

"It was you who told me that we're not allowed to meddle in human matters. Or don't say that you forget it already?"

I exhaled a deep sigh and look above. "I don't know, Reuben. I did remember that I said those things before. The rules and others…"

"So you should know that we should keep a distance from her. Don't you?"

"Yes, I know. But, I can't…"

"I can't leave her alone before I make sure she's safe, Reuben…"

Reuben ruffled his hair in annoyance. "Don't you realize how serious is this?"

"And how are you going to teach here while you both are from a different dimension? Let's say.."

"Even though she was gifted and blessed with those abilities, it was her who should seek and find a guru for herself, not you…"

"How are you going to teach her, Aza?"

"It's normal for us for having our superpowers because we're supernatural and we're assigned with specific duties as all of us did and have done so far…"

I rubbed my face while doubt and guilt filled my heart. I was taken aback by his words. But I can't deny it either. He's right. My partner just spat the fact that I can't be ignored. As his supervisor, I should live my words. But the image of her keeps dancing and twirling around inside my head. I know how busy she is. Every day was filled with the same jobs, routines, and activities. She even barely takes care of herself. All those were doing so she was able to survive day by day with her aunt. And now, she was over the moon by a generous offer from a billionaire. If I were her and if I was in her position, I would be such a fool to reject it.

On the other hand, I can't just ignore my hunch about an amiss here. My instinct never leads any mistakes before. In my opinion, teaching her how to adjust and control her powers would be a good thing for her. So, she would be able to protect herself or at least, avoid any unnecessary things that will put her life in danger.

So, Reuben… My apologies… But it seems my stubbornness has won over my inner battle…

"I'm so sorry, Reuben. But, I think I will defy you this time…"

ILIYA NARA POV

The wind breeze nicely and caressed my face. It was midday. The sky is clear blue and I looked above while my feet stepped on the greeny grass. I was waiting for him to come and he told me to come here. It was a hill nearby my campus and people just passed it by most of the time. Opposite with me who found it kind of amusing and a nice place to chill out. It's so quiet and peaceful here. I also never got any distraction while I'm here though.

"So, are you ready?"

I turned my head immediately. There he is with an annoying smirk on his face and his casual look.

I nodded my head with no doubt.

"Yes, let's get it started.."

"Focus on yourself, little girl…"

"Clear your mind…"

"What do you hear now?"

Firstly, I only can hear some noises. The rustling leaves, the wind blows, birds chirping, and nothing.

"I hear nothing, Mr Angel…"

"Because you didn't hear it right…"

"Try once again…"

"Imagine yourself to be in a crowd. People are chattering around you but you do not exist in their eyes…"

I closed my eyes and followed his instruction.

"You were confused. Uneasy. You want to get away from that place, but you couldn't. You were scared and you can hear your own heartbeat. It resonated inside you. Then, everything around you is getting slower. All noises fade away… "

Yes, I imagined everything and I could feel it. My uneasiness. Feel discomfort when people just don't care and ignored you completely. Bumped you accidentally and left you stumbled on the floor. I unconsciously gasped. Feeling dizzy all of sudden. Gasping and struggling for more air. The chattering goes slower and fades away eventually. I could feel something is coming. Breaking through my rib cage. Something that I never realized was been there all these years. Hiding within me. Then, it was unleashed…..

BAMMMMMM!!!!

A force field transformed around me. Like an invisible bubble. Shielding me in a circular form. Aside from me from the world outside. While Azalel watched the whole scene with his indifferent look.

"Now, focus on yourself once again…"

"Imagine you hear those thoughts and feel their feeling…."

I closed my eyes once again and focused on the closest resonance. Then, I could hear it. Those chattering and feelings were coming towards me like a rushing stream. I started panicking. The dizziness came back. Blurring my vision. I feel a surge of painful headaches. Forced me to cup my ears. The bubble starts wobbling. But then, I felt someone pull me into a warm embrace and whispered softly in my ear.

"Stay focused, little girl. Concentrate. Pick one of those voices…"

I saw flashing memories. Hundreds, thousands of them… flashing like a rolling movie in fast mode with stirred-up feelings. Then, I chose one. It's a mind voice of a little girl with swollen eyes and bruises all over her body. She cried for help but no one was able to listen to her. I captured her face and memorized it. After that, I opened my eyes while blood was dripping from my nose. The shield popped out and Azalel wiped my nose with his cloak.

"Good job, little girl…"

"That's all for today…"

"The one that you saw before was a girl who was repeatedly abused by her foster parents. You can hear her voice now even though she was hiding inside their house but you can report it to the police and track her whereabouts with your new ability…"

"One more, you have successfully activated Shield of Innocence. It will protect and defend you anytime from any demons or ghosts who will bring harm on you…"

"Huh??"

Iliya didn't pay attention to any words that he spilled out because her energy was completely drained up and she feels so sleepy afterward. Before she lose her balance, Azalel caught her up quickly and carry her in his arms. In the next second, a zap flashed out. Slowly, a black mist appears and formed a lady. A devilish smile curved on her lips while she dissipated herself into the same mist.

Azalel put Iliya on the bed carefully and covered her with a blanket. It was afternoon and their first lesson has taken around three hours to emerge and exceed her supernatural abilities to a new level. No wonder she is powerless now.

"Sleep tight, little girl…"

"You wouldn't believe what I saw today, Monav!!"

Eva blurted those words hilariously with an excited tone.

"An angel!!"

A pair of blue eyes watched the whole scene with a sad gaze. His heart sinks while he exhaled a deep breath heavily. He knew that Azalel had formed a field force before. So, when the girl unleashed the energy, it would be untraceable by the high-rank angels. The anomalies won't be sniffed by the demons as well. What perfect coverage.

But how long it would conceal a deadly secret like this?

"You brought nothing except a demise for yourself, Azalel…"
