The trio of friends talked all through the night. It was unfortunate that such an easygoing atmosphere wasn't possible everywhere. For hundreds of years humanity and other native races have lived underneath the terror of the Carbuncles.

What were those, you may ask? They are dimensional rifts that were connected in a sort of grid. They were named as such due to the hostiles just foaming at the mouth to break into the world. However, these Carbuncles were not only like a harmful infection but were also a source of prosperity and power.

They yielded many materials that advanced places all over the world in their own image. The central thing that achieved this? Various energies, all logged in Potential Stones, among other things. They soon replaced all forms of energy, and they brought about many technological and magical marvels to the world.

Even places that were lagging behind others developed in unique ways. Nondescript islands full of aboriginals also had ways of advancing into the future.

If it weren't for the monstrous creatures, the Discharge, that inhabited the Carbuncle rifts, life would be like paradise to the inhabitants of the massive blue planet known as Blue Pangea.

All kinds of creatures that borrowed the myth of the various lands, twisting some and creating new entities entirely…yet one thing was shared by all Discharge, no matter how weak or lacking in intelligence. They sought to conquest the planet.

Yet the races of Blue Pangea were given a gift. The Particularities granted the strength to fight against the Discharge. However weak the Particularity was, it allowed the people to absorb mana into themselves and form a library to store it. The beings that could do so? They were known as Strangers, as they tended to be further and further from the norm of mankind.

Many skills were both dropped from the Discharge's cores and devised in a teachable manner by talented Strangers. Soon, an international system was devised to rank and control the Strangers, giving numerous benefits to those that registered.

In the current year, 90% of Strangers are registered to the international system, even if they lead their own organizations. The reason why? Because failure to comply with this mandate brought about apprehension from those in power. Of the given Strangers, 5% are arrested…

And 5% have abilities unknown by even the core system, the Seed of Babylon.

Strangers fighting for survival, fighting for each other, fighting against each other…such is the world this story is set in.

Yet this tale is not for them, the Strangers of the blue planet. It is one for him…
