Chapter 1A Second Chance

The alley was dark and cold, its grimy walls echoing with the distant sounds of a city that never seemed to care. Alexander lay there, his back to the wall as his breath came in ragged, painful gasps. His once sharp blue eyes were now dull and clouded, the spark of life fading with each passing second. Tuberculosis had taken its toll, ravaging his body and stealing what little hope he had left.

He lay in silence, his mind wandering through the corridors of memory. The familiar ache in his chest was now a relentless companion, gnawing at his resolve. Through the haze of his suffering, he drifted back to his childhood, seeing himself as a ragged, barefoot child, scavenging through the dirt-streaked streets for anything edible. His mother had been his world—frail, weak, and desperate. She had tried to shield him from the harshness of their existence, but her efforts were in vain.

He remembered her final days, weakened further by the complications of her pregnancy and the hardships of living as an illegal migrant. Her death had been a cruel, untimely end to a life filled with unrelenting struggle. His father, a figure of wealth and menace, had denied any connection to them, only to be revealed later as a man steeped in corruption and vice. His promises had been nothing more than cruel jokes played on a woman who had only sought a better life for her child.

Alexander's thoughts churned with bitterness and despair. "Why did it have to be like this?" he wondered, the weight of his past crushing him. "Why did we suffer so much?" The memories of countless nights spent working menial jobs—waste collector, factory worker, sweatshop laborer—flashed before him. Each job had been a battle for survival, a stripping away of dignity, and each day had ended with the cruel realization that no matter how hard he worked, it was never enough.

His tears mingled with the grime of the alley as he coughed out blood, clutching at his chest. The dreams of a better life, of elevating himself and his mother above the poverty that had defined them, seemed distant and impossible now. The harsh reality had always overshadowed those dreams, leaving him to face the world's indifference alone.

His thoughts turned to the medical outreach conducted a week prior—a fleeting glimpse of hope extinguished by the diagnosis of late-stage tuberculosis. Without resources or a safety net, the prognosis had been grim. He had tried to face his fate with courage, but the fear and despair lurked just beneath the surface, waiting to engulf him.

"This is it," he thought bitterly. "How poetic. Born in an alley, and now, dying in an alley." As the darkness closed in, he felt his body stiffen. His vision blurred with tears, and he drew his final breath, the last remnants of life slipping away.

As his soul left his body, it floated into an endless void. The darkness was absolute, but from the depths of it, a voice broke through. Two figures, seated on grand thrones, watched the soul orb with interest. One was a being of shadows and tumult, while the other radiated an aura of serene light.

"Hmmm, interesting," the dark figure mused, reaching out to draw the soul orb closer.

The orb transformed into the figure of Alexander, who found himself in an ethereal space, uncertain and awestruck. "Where am I?" he wondered, his thoughts echoing in the emptiness. "Is this Hades?"

"Open your eyes," a whisper stirred the air, compelling him to see.

When Alexander opened his eyes, he was met with the sight of two thrones. The dark figure spoke first. "Welcome, child. It has been eons since I had a human soul with this amount of brilliance visit me."

Alexander's eyes widened as he looked at the dark figure. "Who are you?" he asked, struggling to stay conscious under the oppressive presence.

"I am the Primordial Chaos," the dark figure replied, gesturing to the other throne where a figure of light sat. "And she is Order."

Alexander's mind reeled at the sight of these primordial beings. The intensity of their auras was overwhelming, threatening to tear at his very essence. "What do you want with me?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Chaos's lips curled into a smile. "I find your memories... intriguing. I offer you a chance. A second life, filled with wealth and power. But it comes with a catch."

Order spoke then, her voice like a gentle breeze. With a wave of her hand, she conjured an image of a planet—Yenith, a sphere many times the size of Earth, teeming with life. "This planet is on the brink of destruction. Its inhabitants have lost their way, and it is your duty to save it."

Alexander's heart raced. "Why me?" he asked. "There must be others more suited for this task."

Chaos's gaze was penetrating. "You are a special case, Alexander. Your soul is not complete. There are aspects of your spirit that need resolution. And your unique experiences make you... suitable."

Order's aura intensified, causing Alexander immense pain. "We grant you a gift," she said, her voice compassionate yet stern. "Its nature will reveal itself in time. Use it wisely."

The energy from both beings grew, and Alexander's soul was transformed back into an orb and sent hurtling towards Yenith. As he felt himself being propelled into the planet, Order's final words echoed in his mind. "I wish you the best of luck."

Alexander opened his eyes to a world that was a stark contrast to his previous existence. He found himself in a grand, opulent room, surrounded by luxury that was beyond his wildest dreams. A king-sized bed dominated the space, and the room was adorned with tapestries and jewels. He looked around, bewildered, comparing this to the cold cartons he had once used for shelter.

He lay back on the bed, his mind racing with the enormity of his new reality. His past life seemed like a distant dream now, and ahead of him lay a new purpose. As he absorbed the splendor of his surroundings, he knew that his journey was just beginning.

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.
