Skyline 1.1

I remember it, a sky filled with clouds of ash, stretching out to the horizon and beyond. The sound of distorted flutes drumming with a deep tone through my ears. The world dying, being torn apart by great hands.

The last shimmers of the day turned to night.

A light breeze hit him as he finally eclipsed the hill. Before him lay a wasteland of ice and endless darkness. However, there is a small green sheen far in the distance, almost like an aurora blocked by the mist. "It seems that we are actually going to make it," he said with his nasal voice, whilst standing alone on the edge of the hill, looking towards the far-off green light. Just as those words were spoken, small blue flickers, like flames of a candle, left the man's mouth, going back from whence he came. Almost as if the light was fleeing the all-absorbing darkness in front of the man.

The man, after a couple of minutes, sighs and takes off a small metal fan from his calf and folds it out into a disc. The clashing of metal can be heard whilst small blue sparks light upon the disc as the man seems to swing his sword into it. After a couple of tries, like a match finally catching flame, ridgid lines start to form on the disc and slowly start to float. "Always a pain to get that thing working, should get a new light after this job, if I get any money from that damned Brain." And with those words, the man with a slight hop jumps upon the disc. He leans a bit forward and the disc starts propelling forward off the hill, riding towards the emerald light, almost a path in the all-consuming darkness.

Moments later in the darkness where the fleshling disappeared a small red light seems to follow him down the hill and into the darkness.

'The only thing I hear is the sound of this blasted wind and my own footsteps, why did I agree to this again?' The fleshling thought.

"Hey you scratcher types are supposed to help with this kind of stuff, right? So where is the blasted disso den at?" A nasal voice said in the dark "I would rather not get eaten by some of Vrellen's demons" Again a blue light escaped the darkness, this time however the light quickly returned. There seems to be a bead of silence before the nasal voice speaks again "You could be nicer you know, you get to sit back at the base whilst I risk life and limb".

'Truly, can she not muster an ounce of sympathy for a poor old guy like me? She truly is a professional in the end.' The fleshling lets out an audible chuckle 'At least the disso den is close now, and the stupid debt repaid'

In the darkness, an emerald metal spire rises, intertwining with another to form a helix. These Helixes spin around each other whilst segments from both break off and switch places with each other. Every time this happens, a red glow rushes through both helixes, as if shouting out a silent cry of pain, made all the more obvious by the eternal night surrounding them.

"Ah, we are finally here." says the man whilst his figure is painted in a flash of red light. He seems to wear a padded cloak together with a tight bodysuit. On his arms, small steel plates are placed with seemingly ornamental engravings on them. His legs are covered with furs of different beasts seemingly sewn together over his bodysuit, making some kind of skirt.

The man jumped off the fan and was bathed in the red light. The fan rapidly collapsed in on itself, till it was a small metal beam. A similar-looking construction was on his other calve.

A red light, like a burgeoning flame, came towards him and dissolved, the winds of which making a sound. "You have arrived at the promised location, fulfill the contact. If you do not comply you know the fate that awaits you."

"Yes." says the fleshling in an exasperated tone. "Well let's get started then, this disso will not come to me by itself" The man pauses for a second and has a thoughtful look on his head "Hopefully." The man says as he slowly starts to walk up to the helix, occasionally averting his eyes when a wave of red light appears.

A distorted sound of electric sparks can be heard as the silent rumblings of metal scraping against each other could be barely heard. Soon after, a green light fills the chamber as a circular door opens at the end of the hallway. The man steps inside as his body turns 90 degrees as gravity changes from allowing him to stand horizontally to vertically.

The man nearly falls to his knees due to the sudden change in gravity and lets out a muffled grunt. "Damn disso den's, it is almost like they want the scare me to death."

The man gathers his composure, after which he stands up and walks further into the hall. The walls themselves seem to be made out of materials so smooth you can see your own reflection in them. The hall itself seemed to stretch on endlessly. Slowly, as he walked further and further the complex branched out and out, but with the help of the Brain he avoided most traps.

As he walked further, parts of the building started to look rougher. Some of it looked like parts of the walls had been smashed out, whilst in other parts, the complex looked as if it was rotting. Though all these places had something similar, dead bodies strewn about.

The dead bodies that were not just a mix of flesh and bone on the walls, either had their faces thorn up by some kind of wire or slowly their blood had been frozen in their body. Maybe even over the course of days, from what the Brain could gather.

Suddenly a low buzzing sound could be heard and a flash of light appeared, the fleshling with inhumane agility clicked a button on a walkman-like box on his hip. Then a shower of sparkles erupted as something danced against an invisible shield.

The fleshling quickly grabbed his sword and took a fighting position. In front of him stood it, the disso:

Levistus, The Traitor Demon

Damn, I have had this idea for a whole year, this is the first part of the first chapter. I wanted to get it out there so that I got the motivation to actually keep writing. It is a bit of a mess but I hope you enjoyed it.
