Dragon Mage System

I was just minding my own business drinking some ice tea on a hot summer night when an officer came along looking for trouble.

The classic situation of a young black male being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had on my du-rag you know I have to keep my waves fresh to death. Sporting some nice air max 95s and rocking a white tee-shirt, normal attire for a young black male in the hood.

I just had gotten accepted to Morehouse College so I figured I'd get me a nice cool drink and a couple of snacks to celebrate from the local gas station. It was only a block away from my apartment.

"What are you doing here at this hour," said a police officer as he saw me come out of the store.

"Minding my own business officer. What's the problem?" I said.

"You match the description of a man suspected in a robbery, put your hands on the ground," said the police officer as he took out his gun.

Fear struck my heart, I knew police were never up to any good in America, better move fast before I end up with a bullet in my ass. I immediately got on the ground to comply with the officer.

The officer patted me down and found a roach in my pocket. Just a little celebration I had earlier. We in Cali, smoking weed's not a crime! The officer didn't see it that way though, he took out the roach and immediately put me in handcuffs.

"You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can and will be used against you," said the officer as he pinned me to the ground in handcuffs.

Right, when the officer had me in handcuffs Truck-kun came along and swerved right into us. I couldn't even avoid it!

"Aww, why does my head hurt so much?" I thought as I woke up groggy.

I looked around and noticed I was now in the bed of a medieval carriage as I had the strangest memories start to flood my head. I grew up in a world free of racism and oppression amongst humans because of the color of their skin.

Humans in this world had bigger things to worry about than their skin color. In this world, there were other races to contend with. How could humans be so petty as to argue among themselves when they had actual beast-men to focus their thoughts on?

This is a weird dream. Or so I thought because at that moment in walked a cat lady!

'Am I dreaming?' I thought. I stared wide-eyed at the cat lady wearing a maid uniform. She was an authentic anamorphic cat that could walk and talk. I eyed her strangely as she came closer to me.

Am I freaking hallucinating? What the fuck is this?

The cat lady noticed me looking at her strangely.

"Young master Daquan, are you ok?" said the cat lady.

"Is your head still hurting from the accident? You were passed out for days."

Strange memories flooded my head of the new world I was in. The last memory I had was being 'accidentally' injured while adventuring with other kids on the caravan. I was Daquan Johnson the son of a noble Baron, Leeroy Johnson. Right now I was on a caravan heading to a Mage recruitment ground in hopes of joining a Mage Academy to become an Apprentice.

I thought back to when I was five when my father in this life entrusted me with the token allowing me to go to this recruitment.

"Son, I once rushed headfirst into a whole cavern of dragon whelps to save a Mage. He was so thankful for my efforts he gifted me this token for entry into a Mage Academy for one of my descendants. With this token you will be allowed entry to a Mage Academy to become an Apprentice when you come of age," said my father Leeroy Johnson.

"I treasured this chance immensely when I first got it, begetting many descendants to find one capable of using this amazing gift."

My father fostered a large harem of women after getting the token, I wasn't even born to his first wife. Only to one of his many concubines. Sadly my mother passed away when I was young. The only thing I had to remember her by was the tattered bronze storage bracelet I kept on my wrist.

Growing up I was bullied by the children of his main wife until it was found I had to the aptitude to become a Mage Apprentice.

"None of my children have had the aptitude to be a Mage Apprentice until you were born. Do not let me down Daquan, if you can become a Mage Apprentice your future is bright. Maybe one day with your help the Johnson family can have a rise in status."

Throughout my childhood, my father instructed me of everything it took to be a Champion. From the breathing exercises they practiced to the sword stances he used in combat. All of these were very precious to a Champion.

A Champion normally only passed his teachings on to his main descendant. Before it was found I had the aptitude to be a Mage Apprentice, he didn't spare me the time of day.

The original inhabitant of this body took none of the new attention to heart. He proceeded to laze around and become an unruly young master of the Johnson Estate with his new status. He told his father that learning those Champion techniques were worthless as one day he would become a Mage.

The 'loving' father didn't mind his naive child and still instructed him every week on the skills of a Champion, despite him refusing to practice them.

The love of a father runs deep. Even though the original Daquan was an unruly son his father still sent him off on the journey to become a Mage Apprentice when he turned twelve. He even gifted him a maid and 200 gold to take care of him on the journey.
