Abandoned

Four years had passed by quickly and the small child had been able to walk on her own but she had often revealed weakness as she walked.

She sat down like an emotionless doll and held out her arm towards the old man. 'Just go reproduce already and have your own children! Go be interested in something else! I am tired of you! If it was not because of your potential and your family lines potential then I would have risked everything to kill you!'

Blush had grown up and became heavily resentful towards Dr Gero as he continued to test her body each time he was free.

Dr Gero held onto the arm and then inserted a needle into her veins as he extracted her blood before storing it away. 'If I cannot detect anything this time then I will give up on the child.'

Over the years, Blush had continued to keep the evil demon worlds miasma within her body so she had appeared very weak.

She had expelled some of it over the years but she had stopped to keep it at a safer level so that her body was not in further danger.

Blush was occasionally sick and was weaker than most children due to the miasma in her body and Dr Gero had continued his studies on her to find out if her body had started to adapt to it or not.

In the hopes of finding a way to find a cure for those exposed to the miasma, he kept trying even though he kept getting bad results.

Although she had built up a little tolerance and resistance to the miasma which was no longer on a dangerous level within her body, the main reason why she was still able to walk around and breathe was thanks to her magic power.

As she had been suppressing and pushing out the miasma, she could feel that her mental limitations were being tested each time until they were finally surpassed.

There was also a sign that her magic power or energy was becoming much purer and more powerful as it had been tempered but the doctor did not realise that as he had no knowledge of magic and could not detect her growth.

All his research results had found nothing to be used and it was expected that she would most likely die before she turns twenty even if she is able to live into her teens.

She did not possess or had not shown any special abilities or advantages over normal humans according to his and others observations so he had nothing to gain in terms of discovering her genetic data.

The small child who was named blush was just like any cute child but she had a pair of sharp red eyes, pointed ears like elves or demons and had pastel coloured pink skin and green hair.

If her face was not so pink in colour then many would be able to notice how serious her current condition was as she would be deathly pale.

If someone were to judge her for her potential or battle power by her current appearance then they would say that she was useless and had no worth as she probably had a power level between one or two even if they were being generous.

With the continued extractions of her blood, her health was not that great and she would only worsen if it continued so the doctor eventually had to stop before it was him that killed her and not the miasma.

The doctor believed the same after he had completed his research on her. "I cannot look after you any longer as I do not have the time to raise a child anymore. My main research must continue and I need to meet some deadlines. It seems that the lord has something important to discuss so I will be very busy."

Blush had remained standing there like a small delicate doll and nodded.

Dr Gero had shown a look of disappointment but then sighed. "I have arranged for a place for you to go. It will be better for you to go somewhere that you can be safe. Who knows, there you may even be able to learn something to help your current situation."

He was aware that the child had been bullied many times and had come back covered in wounds so she could not be left in the village or around it.

It was better for her to stay away from humans so that she was not discriminated against so he had been looking for a place that usually accepts hybrids.

Blush remained on the spot with a blank appearance as she stared into space. 'Old man.. just hurry up and take me! I have been patient enough with you and played the obedient doll for so long already! Even my time reading during my youth I had to play off as a babies or child's curiosity towards an object! Even if you are a genius how could you possibly guess that I could read your work and have memorised it all.'

During her earlier years, she was able to use the childlike innocence of a baby and a little acting to grab onto things that she wished without suffering the consequences or suspicions that she was found out to be a genius baby.

She was able to fool even the genius mind of Dr Gero or he simply did not have that much interest in her as a person and instead looked at her like a tool to be used and discarded.

During that time, she had been able to look through many books related to what had been studied by Dr Gero and his family or teachers before him.

Different types of studies on herb and plants to other materials as they are used in medicines or to create powerful poisons for the lord that he served then there was the research that he had gathered on the human body during his time as a doctor and his biological studies of bugs and other wildlife.

As a fellow scientist who had been reincarnated, it was the perfect opportunity to use so that she could familiarise herself with the principles and materials of the current earth that she was living on.

She had continued to make it look like she was an obedient doll and could not properly care for herself so that once she had been abandoned, the doctor would at least try to look for a reasonable place to send her so that she could have a decent place to live and survive within.

With the help of her excellent mental capabilities, she was able to quickly memorise most of what she had found and could easily make use of it if she had the right tools but the world was still quite far behind as far as she had seen.

Earth was quite mixed up in terms of technology and advancements even in the future timeline since there were still tribes or villages that lived out in the wilderness or in more dangerous places and use their basic tools to help them live but there would be some cities that had become quite advanced.

The only city she had visited was still quite medieval in appearance and had not yet advanced like the rest of the world or that was the current state of the worlds development so far but from what she had studied from Dr Gero she was able to determine that even the Gero family line had yet to fully discover everything and were not so advanced so she was in a time before the original timeline or much before it.

Blush held a small bag of her things and wore a scarf over her head and clothes that covered most of her skin to hide her appearance as she was escorted towards an old hut that was far away from the city and in a more secluded area.

Dr Gero had stopped by the door and said. "Wait here. I will go in a talk to her. This is where you will be living from now on."

Blush stood at the door with her head down but as she waited, she had thought to herself. 'Old man.. you had better be sending me somewhere trustworthy! Should I just run and risk surviving on my own or give this a chance?'

Dr Gero had come outside and walked away as if he no longer recognised her but Blush was greeted with a kind and friendly smile from a small wrinkled old lady with a pointed hat. "Come in child!"
