Surprise Surprise

Exam officially over, I took a card from Nezu for if and when I wanted some help, then made my way home.

Meanwhile 30 minutes ago with the teachers…

There were 4 students whose performance was being displayed, Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya, Kaori Moashi and… Alex Usagiyama. Each of them had successfully taken down a 0-pointer, Katsuki through sheer explosive firepower, Midoriya through blood, sweat and tears, Kaori through literally bisecting it down the middle and Alex through a rather horrifying internal foray.

"We've got some feisty ones this year" Said Aizawa in a rather bored tone. He continued "They all have major problems though, explosive kid's attitude is closer to a villain than a hero, the kid with the amazing punch clearly has very little control over his quirk, laser girl has great power and control but almost seems emotionless and the last one shows great promise but other than knowing he's with Mirko we know next to nothing"

"Attitudes can be changed, control can be learned, a good poker face can crack and I can assure you Alex's background won't be an issue" Nezu calmly responded.

All Might AKA small Might was nervously listening to the teachers as they discussed each participant, looking up at the screen showed the still shot of Katsuki with a massive explosion, a black haired girl nonchalantly floating and firing lasers which annihilated anything they touched… and the tall gray young man who seemed impervious to all damage and was like a bulldozer in a paper house… Young Midoriya… you've got some major challenges ahead of you, far more than I ever anticipated.

The teachers continued the back and forth until giving out scores, these four would certainly pass… they had the makings of a hero but only time would tell if they'd be able to make use of it.

Back at Alex's Apartment

I'd started a video call with Rumi to tell her I'd done my best and how I'd destroyed the 0-pointer, she seemed pleased… and also appeared to be taking the call while on the move?

*Knock knock*

"Ah, hold on, I've got someone at the door, I'll be right back" I put her on hold to hop up and check who it was, I'd barely unlocked the door when it was thrown open and someone latched onto my head!

I nearly panicked but noticed my assailant was wearing a white leotard, dark purple leggings and had bunny ears! "Hey kid, surprise! Betcha didn't expect me to pop around eh?" Rumi said while grinning and running her knuckles over my head.

"Wha? How the-? Why the-?... Pffff hahahaha, hey Rumi!" I stopped thinking too much and grabbed her to give a hug. "What are you doing around here?" I still asked the main question though.

"What? You not happy to see me?" she jokingly asked. Before I could respond she continued- "Well guess who your new legal guardian is? I'm here to tell you the good news and take you out to celebrate getting into U.A!"

"New legal guardian? I was gonna ask if you wanted to be, have you managed to do so already? Also celebrate? Won't the letter of acceptance not be arriving for a while?" I thought I'd need to take a trip back to Hiroshima to possibly get through the legal nonsense, and celebrating early kinda felt like I'd be jinxing it.

"Small details! I'd already talked to the principal about being your legal guardian before you even enrolled, hell you're already legally my brother- you even have my prestigious family name tacked on!" She proudly proclaimed!

"I DO?!" I was blown away, how long was she planning this out?! I continued- "So we're legally siblings now?!"

"Yep!" Her ever present grin got a bit wider at that.

"I, I can't, this is the happiest moment of my life!" I tackle-hugged Rumi and cried a bit, even if I considered her my sister already. It made me so happy to see she really did think the same and even got it legally done!

"Ah! Watch the spikes!" I shifted around but didn't let her go, it felt like a dam had been building up and while not everything was let loose, I still felt like a great burden was lifted.

"So… So am I Alex Usagiyama now?" I hesitantly asked, it still didn't feel real!

"Damn right! And we're the toughest sons a bitches around!" She confirmed my question so vehemently that she even swore a bit (She'd mostly stopped swearing around me since she didn't want me picking it up).

I had a good laugh at that before letting her go and saying- "This is awesome, screw it! What celebration did you have in mind?" I had a fairly good idea and after wiping my face I flashed her a smile full of fighting intent!

She mirrored my smile- "that principal promised to lend me a training ground if I hosted some classes… and I reckon now's as good a time as any to use it!"

I didn't bother to change out of the currently ripped shirt as we both left and made our way back to U.A, If Nezu was surprised he sure didn't show it as we were led to a barren training ground.

"Would it be alright if you had some spectators?" Asked Nezu since he and a few other teachers were understandably curious.

Rumi raised an eyebrow at me and I just shrugged in response- "More the merrier I guess… though the fee for watching will be having to take part in at least 1 spar!" She declared!

"You want us to spar against a child?! Are you insane?!" said Cementoss with several others echoing his thought.

"That'll be up to you, you can choose him or me… after we have our own spar, and believe me" she looked each of them in the eye- "You haven't seen anything he's capable of yet!" The teachers looked unnerved at that… minus Nezu of course.

Meanwhile All Might looked more surprised than anything else… surprised that she'd willingly give up the chance for a spar to someone else… and surprised that she was implying he hadn't shown anywhere near his maximum yet!

Meanwhile I'd usually be more worried about her inciting the teachers but for the first time in either life I really felt unrestrained… or free? And I wanted something to fight! Is this how Rumi feels? I felt so impatient to begin that I was scraping my feet into the concrete and slightly gnashing my teeth together.

The teaching staff agreed to her conditions though insisted they wouldn't be battling me… we'll see about that. With a grin donning each of our faces we charged directly at one another! Only Rumi noticed as my eyes started glowing and my pupils began to disappear.
