Chapter 124

This is one advantage that beasts have over warriors, beast meat is the same as Spiritual Pills for them.

Slowly the snake's body began to increase in size, 80cm to over a metre in length! But in a flash the entire body was swallowed whole into a now full stomach of a small beast.

Looking at the curled up and snoring beast, Serpentine Samuel sighed resignedly.

''So much money gone just like this'' He shook his head and placed the beast around his neck before looking for the next target.

Soon the hunt began, Serpentine Samuel would hide and ambush the creatures passing below.

At first he would occasionally be noticed due to his poor hide skills, however Samuels main body began researching methods that spies use.

Slowly Serpetine Samuel learnt to hide his breath, cover his tracks, use herbs to hide his smell.

A month in the Eternal Battlefield passed like this, with Serpentine Samuel learning while his main body would research different techniques.

Right now Serpentine Samuel was hunting a Middle Rank 1 Tiger, its strength enormous, even comparable to Serpentine Samuel with the doubled boost.

Serpentine Samuel cut out rapidly slicing the skin of the beast, however the beast stretched it's mouth wide grasping his arm tearing a chunk of skin straight off.

''Ah son of a bitch!''

With a swish of his foot the dusty ground got kicked up, chunks of dirt and grime flying into the eyes of the tiger.

His hands twisted in a strange fashion aiming directly at his trachea, as his wrist tilted revealing a self forged crossbow bolt.

The knife hit first, removing a chunk of skin from the beast's neck. This wouldn't be enough to kill it.

However his middle finger lightly tapped the base of the crossbow releasing a heavy wooden bolt directly into the trachea of the beast.

Blood spilled instantly, as the tiger began to pant and sigh struggling for breath.

After 5 minutes of struggling, the beast fell to the ground dead.

As normal, the snake crawled out from the bushes and began to eat the body of the beast.

Over this month, the beast successfully reached the Peak of Low Rank 1. Its size had grown to one and a half metres and it was already a fist wide!

Unfortunately the effect of Middle Rank 1 corpses is now limited for the little green snake. If it doesn't receive High Rank 1 Corpses as nutrients then it will be limited at the Peak of Low Rank 1 for a while.

But Serpentine Samuel can't hunt down beasts that are stronger than Middle Rank 1.

Even if the strength boost doubles his combat power, and he is confident to fight against a High Rank 1 Beast, there is a difference between fighting and killing one.

Suddenly Serpentine Samuel grabbed the feasting snake by the throat and leapt backwards. Submerging himself into the large bushes.

With his only functional arm, he swiped leaves across his skin removing the smell of blood and covering his body in the growth on the ground.

The snake was confused, however he quickly understood Samuels behaviour.

Four young teenagers climbed through the thickets.

''Senior Brother the fighting was over here.'' one of the younger teenagers spoke first as he curiously looked around the blood soaked battleground left behind.

''Be careful, this tiger isn't weak, someone who can hunt it definitely isn't weak either.'' The so-called Senior Brother looked cautiously around.

He is weaker than the tiger, so someone who can hunt it definitely isn't weak.

''Brother, there is more than one person's blood here. Whoever killed the tiger definitely hasn't gotten far.'' one of the other teenagers spoke at this point.

''Take the corpse of the beast. Let's get out of here before he returns.'' The Senior brother spoke quickly, picking up the three Spiritual Crystals laying at the feet of the Panther.

Quickly the two youngest in the group ran over and cut up the beast for storage as they quickly retreated.

Serpentine Samuel looked onwards and watched the retreating teenagers.

As they ran he followed in the trees from a distance of a mile away. With the tracking skills he had learnt he could barely hang on by sensing the aura and the tracks that they left.

Slowly he saw where they were running to. It was a giant mountain with dozens of pavilions and buildings on top.

However Serpentine Samuel stopped in his tracks when he looked at the giant spire. Because he felt some extremely threatening auras within.

But he scouted it out for the following week. And from what he gathered it was a Sect! A sect within the Eternal Battlefield!

Sects in the Eternal battlefield are different from those outside of it.

Sects within the Eternal Battlefield recruit warriors and youngsters from any plane. It is a place for talents to congregate and trade resources.

They are purposefully built in the weaker areas of the Eternal Battlefield to catch younger generations when they are still weak.

After knowing this information, Serpentine Samuel took advantage of it. Changing his clothes into a young masters outfit making him look royal and slightly less hideous with his hair and horns he headed towards the sect.

Along the way the passing disiciples looked on guard as they saw him pass, but seeing that he was drawing no weapons they only took a glance and continued on.

Many people come to apply each day so when there are no threats they don't fight them.

Soon he arrived at the base of the mountain. There was a large mountain gate with two bronze armoured guards protecting it.

Sensing the aura of a High Rank 1 on just these guards, Serpentine Samuel was relieved that he didn't try to make any extra moves.

However when he arrived at the gates, the unmoving guards suddenly took action.

Both taking out long spears and crossing them in front of the gate.

''Halt! Report your name, Plane and purpose for coming to the Liaison Sect!'' The guards shouted in a mighty voice, startling many disciples.

''My name is Serpentine, From the Snakepond Plane. I want to join the Liaison Sect!'' He replied confidently.

Of course the plane was found in one of the ancient books on BlueStar. Obviously the sect couldn't check all the planes, and even if they did, how would they know he didn't come from there?

So he was confident in lying.
