Chapter 1 : The Return Home

Koji returned home, his heart heavy with grief. He knew it was his duty to inform Tommy and JP's families of their passing, but he couldn't bear the thought of breaking the news to them. He had lost his best friends, and he didn't know how he was going to move on without them.

As he walked into his own home, his mother greeted him with a smile. But as soon as she saw the sadness in his eyes, her expression turned to one of concern.

"Koji, what's wrong?" she asked.

Koji didn't say a word. He simply collapsed onto the couch and buried his face in his hands. His mother sat down next to him and put her arm around him.

"Koji, please tell me what's going on. You're scaring me."

Finally, Koji looked up at her, tears streaming down his face.

"Tommy and JP...they're gone. The Digital World is destroyed, and they didn't make it out alive."

Koji's mother gasped in shock, tears welling up in her own eyes. She pulled Koji into a tight embrace, holding him as he cried.

The rest of the day was a blur for Koji. He visited Tommy and JP's families, delivering the heartbreaking news. He tried his best to be strong for them, but it was all too much to bear. He felt like he had lost a part of himself, and he didn't know how he was going to go on.

As the night wore on, Koji found himself sitting alone in his room, staring at a picture of him and his friends in the Digital World. It felt like a lifetime ago that they had been there, fighting side by side. But now, it was all gone.

Koji knew he had to be strong for himself and for his friends' families. He couldn't change what had happened, but he could honor their memory by living his life to the fullest. And so, he made a promise to himself that he would do just that.
