Hunter Creak
"Uncle Creak, why did you retire?"
"Because I'm old, little one. I was old when I met your father, I was old when he was born."
"Uncle Creak, who did you work for?"
"I worked for many people, but all of us worked for the Navy. Can't tell you too much, little one, or else they'll chain me. I do secret work."
"Uncle Creak, why'd you work with the Navy? Do they have a lot of money?"
"Of course, they're the richest in the world. They own lots of islands, lots of ships, and they have the most magic. I learned my magic from them, and in the future, you might too."
"Uncle Creak, if you did secret work, did you ever do something you didn't like?"
"...Many times. Just a few years ago, before you arrived, I had to sail all the way north to look for someone. I never liked the cold."
"Uncle Creak, dad said he'd come get me soon. It's been months now, where is he?"
"He's... probably busy, little one. You know he works very hard. I have an idea, why don't we go to your new workshop? Your father told me it's time you learned how to be a real D'estla. We can start with the tiny defender, it'll scare off the roaches and the blobfish."
"Eh, but I wanna stay here and wait for dad..."
"Don't worry, little one, he'll be here soon. Trust me, he's probably in The City right now, making sure the cannons are working. He's a D'estla, and a D'estla never leaves their work unfinished, even if the world is against them."

The age of gunpowder and spite befell Weizglass, built upon magic and steel that contested the old ways of iron. Their flags flying proudly in the air, The Navy sailed the seas, dragons alongside their sails as they ushered order. From the Left Reach they began their ambitions; 800 years they spent waging war against the unforgiving of the Northern Boundary, the horrifying monsters of the South Frontier, and the valiant warriors of the Eastern Edge.
Their aspirations were almost accomplished, their fleets covered the endless water. Though, from the waters they claimed their own, some among the inhabitants disagreed with their rules, their systems, their laws.
