Chapter 1: Enrollment

"Master, isn't today your big day?" I heard Percy ask.

"Huh?" I replied, stuffing my face with the toast he'd made.

"Today is the first day that you attend school. Do you not remember?" He answered. Out of all the things he could've said, he just HAD to say that, didn't he?

I let out a sigh. "Why did you have to say that? I was actually enjoying the breakfast you made me you know," I replied. I can't stand the thought of going to school with a bunch of other humans.

"Master Shiro should already be dressed and ready to-" He said before I cut him off with "I bet you she's still asleep. Did you forget that the idiot went for 3 days without sleep trying to improve her armor?".

Percy rubbed his chin and then nodded. "You're probably right. Although I wish she didn't overwork herself so much," He replied. Shiro has always been a handful ever since the day I met her during the final war of the Disgraceful Baths. And especially now that she has all of this free time.

"I'M AWAKE YOU ASSHAT!" I heard a loud yell come from her room upstairs.

"It's early in the morning and she's already cranky. I'm not surprised one bit if I'm being honest," I said as I kept eating.

As I stood up I heard loud footsteps and saw Shiro running to the kitchen, only to drink the coffee Percy prepared for her and sit down.

"1: Don't drink so quickly, you'll be left with a really bitter flavor in your mouth if you do. And 2: quit being so loud at 6 in the morning," I said as I grabbed a pack of crackers to eat with my coffee and sat back down.

"Sorry. But thanks for the food! It's soo tasty!" She replied with a bright smile like a kid

"You both always say that my French toast is the best thing to eat in the morning. I'm merely doing my job as your servant," Percy replied.

"You're more family than a servant to us, you know," Shiro and I said in unison. It was true though, he is more family than a servant to us two.

Shiro Enshino, age 16 physically, 2,937 actually. The two of us are actually twins. A good amount of my memories from when I was a human are foggy, but the ones I remember down to the last detail are almost all ones with Shiro. I do have some memories of our parents but since they died around the time Shiro and I were 13, they weren't many. One thing is certain, the two of us look a lot like our parents. Shiro has long, golden hair which she keeps in a ponytail, unlike how our mother just had hers out and about. I have long, white hair as our father did. One thing father and I have in common is that sometimes we grow out our hair and either put it in a ponytail or just do nothing with it at all. The funny thing is that our eyes aren't the same as our parents' purple and golden eyes. Instead, our eyes are purple with golden irides. Mother and father always told us that they'd always be with us because when we looked at each other's eyes, we'd see them. I don't remember how they died, but I do remember how we died perfectly. A brutal murder by humans who tried to steal our stuff and when I tried to protect Shiro by telling her to run, the murderers used their magic to impale her with what looked to be iron spikes. I'll never forget hearing her screams of agony and the tears on her face. I tried to reach my hand out to her, only for it to be torn off. I don't know what was more painful back then, seeing my sister impaled with spikes and a terrified expression on her face, or having my limbs severed off. After they took my arm, my left leg was impaled, followed by the right one to be cut off piece by piece. The agony of having your leg being sliced off one piece at a time was intense. I would've blacked out from the pain if the rage I was feeling hadn't kept me going. I swore I'd kill them for what they'd done to me and Shiro over and over that night. In the end, I was met with a spike through my gut, with the woman who did it laughing like a psychopath. Almost a minute after the spike went through my gut, I felt someone's fist go straight through my chest and rip my heart out. All I know for sure is that we were murdered by two insane people. Whether or not they were related doesn't matter to me. When I was resurrected, one of the first memories I had was of how we died, and I was fuming with anger and rage. I wanted nothing more than to kill them in the most gruesome way, but when I found out who they were I learned they'd died 40 years before I'd been reborn. Humans tend to live up to the age of 300 if they live a normal life, with some living up to 350 or maybe even 400, if they got lucky. I met Shiro again about 40 to 50 years into the first Disgraceful Bath. She was an Assassin like me, but designed weapons and worked on the armor of other soldiers and Assassins instead of fighting. Was she good at fighting? Yes. Did she fight often? Not really. When I first laid eyes on her, I was speechless. The moment she saw me and we made eye contact, we both just ran towards each other and hugged for what felt like hours. I don't think I've ever been as happy as I was that day.

It's been 3 years since the Disgraceful Baths ended and in that time, humanity has never been more peaceful. Their feelings towards Assassins became extremely mixed after the baths, however. With what feels like half of them hating Assassins with every fiber of their being, and the other treating us like normal people and respecting us for who we are. One thing doesn't change when it comes down to it though, the humans all have massive respect for the Devil of Light and the ruthless Jaeger. They went as far as to build statues for us and everything.

I stood up and walked towards the window of our house to look at the city below us. "Do you two think I really deserve a statue for everything I've done?" I asked Shiro and Percy.

"Of course you do! You DID go into the Underworld and kill the Demon King you know. And are you forgetting he's a whole god?" Shiro replied.

She's right, I did go and kill the Demon King, but that doesn't exactly make up for everything that happened during the Disgraceful Baths.

"Yeah, that's true. But it doesn't change the fact that I've killed a lot of humans. And now I'm expected to live as one of them? It just feels wrong to me. Monsters aren't people," I said.

I feel like a wolf in sheep's clothing pretending to be human after how many I slaughtered back then. Do I regret killing them? No, I'm not capable of regretting my killings. Though I do hate the fact that I DID kill so many humans. The kill count for the humans I've killed is around 6 or 7 billion in total. That's the thing about us Assassins though, we never regret killing anyone, nor do we feel anything when we kill and about the deaths we cause.

"Master Rin, I understand how you feel, but you can't let your personal feelings undermine the good you've done for humanity, Master Shiro, and for me," Percy said as he put his hand on my shoulder. "Now you should get going Masters Rin and Shiro, you don't want to miss your entrance ceremony and the speech you two have to give do you?" He said, giving a smirk.

Percy, you evil bastard. You really enjoy seeing others suffer the pain of life, don't you?

"You're evil." Shiro and I said in unison with an emotionless expression on our faces.

Shiro and I are supposedly the first-year representatives since we got the highest scores on our sections of the entrance exams. Normally, you'd be asked if you wanted to be the representative for your year, but we didn't get a choice in the matter thanks to a certain Major James Hale. Both Shiro and I served directly under him and he decided to adopt us during the second bath. While he's our adoptive father, we don't live with him or near him due to our not needing him living with us. James happened to be a member of the distinguished Hale family, known for their vast wealth, production of extremely powerful ice mages, and how they always have at least one of those mages join the world military, so naturally, we would have access to an unlimited amount of money and resources at our disposal. The only bad thing for him, but good for us, is that we have to keep our relationship secret. We legally have our last names as Enshino because we want to and because it benefits us in keeping the secret.

"Hey, Rin, why do think Hale wanted us to be the representatives for our year?" Shiro asked as we grabbed our bags and got our shoes on.

"Good question. The old man's always been unpredictable so it's hard to figure out exactly why, but my best guess is that he wants to see how we deal with stressful situations that don't involve violence. I'll give him points for being really annoying with how he does it though." I said as I grabbed the house keys.

"Have some fun while the two of us are at school, Percy!" I shouted as I locked the door and headed into the elevator with Shiro.

Our house is pretty big seeing as it takes up about a third of the space of the building its part of. Put on the very top with a huge window overlooking the city. Two floors and 5 rooms, with 3 of them occupied and the others acting as guest rooms. When I say the Hale family has an unlimited amount of money, I'm not kidding at all. Shiro gets her own research lab on the floor below the actual house and I get my own big training room on the same floor. Although our time in our respective heavens might get cut short these days because of school.

"So lemme get this straight, I'm the representative for the R&D courses and you do the combat courses?" Shiro asked me.

"I guess so. Apparently, the representatives for each course and year make up the student council, and positions are given based on the scores we get in the entrance exams. Since we got the top scores in our respective fields I think we'll probably land a good spot." I answered as I rubbed my chin.

As we got to the holo-rail station Shiro said "By a 'good' spot do you mean a spot that's guaranteed to give us a lot of busywork?"

She always knows what I mean to say instead of what I actually say without even trying. Is it a family thing? I said as I grabbed our tickets and boarded the holo-rail with her.

"What's the point of saying anything that I don't mean around you when you always know exactly what I really mean?"

"Well, you wouldn't have to ask that question if you just said what you actually thinking to me!" She replied with a bright smile. "I give up on you," I said, to which she just responded with a soft chuckle. "Do you think you could put my hair in a ponytail for me?" I asked, to which Shiro nodded and turned me around so she could put it in a ponytail.

Once she finished she flicked the back of my neck like she always does. "We're so much like mom and dad it's a little scary you know." She said.

"We even have the same behaviors with our hair too!" I replied with a smile. She's right though, we're so much like them.

"I miss those days. Back when we were human and lived with mom and dad, I mean." She said while hugging my arm.

I mean, I miss them a lot too, but I know that there's not a single thing we can get back from those days today. Not the happiness we felt, not our parents, and most definitely not our humanity. If I'm being honest with myself, I do hate humans, I hate them a lot. I don't hate all humans, just the kinds like our murderers, and others I saw during the Disgraceful Baths

"'There's no such thing as going back to the past because you can only move forward.' That's what mom and dad always said to us. It doesn't matter how badly we want to go back to those days because even if we did, we wouldn't be the same people we used to be. I think they'd want us to just keep living on as we have." I replied with a sad tone of voice. "You're right. Plus we have someone to be our parent now. He isn't the dad we used to have, but he's still a good one. Don't you agree?" She asked, to which I didn't reply.

As we arrived at our stop nearby the actual academy, I took a look at the building and was stunned. The response I was about to give Shiro just left my mind in an instant and I stood there frozen as I looked at the academy. "Wow" was the only thing that came out of both of our mouths. The academy was right in front of the station so we had a perfect view of it. The main building was about 3 stories tall and surrounded by 4 other buildings, each on one corner of the main building and 5 stories tall. But what really caught our attention were the statues in the front. Those two statues were of me and Jaeger. They made sure to get every detail down to the last crease in the armor.

"Beautiful aren't they? The academy made sure to have them made to perfection!" A man said as he walked in front of us. Who the hell is this guy? All of a sudden he just popped up and started talking to us. "Oh, I should introduce myself!" he exclaimed.

"Are you an Assassin?" I asked, rubbing my chin. I can usually distinguish Assassins and humans really easily since I'm one of them.

"Wait you can tell? I MEAN UHH..... I'M SORRY!" he said with a concerned expression. Does he not realize that Shiro and I are also Assassins?

"Why are you apologizing?" I asked, confused as all hell.

"Wait, you aren't one of those people who hate Assassins?" he asked me.

I don't hate Assassins in the slightest but damn some of them are just weird. "No, not really," I replied, scratching the back of my ear.

"Great! My name is Arthur. My true name is Pendragon but you don't have to be formal or anything. Think like the legend of King Arthur!" He said nervously.

First of all, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GUY'S PROBLEM? ASSASSINS CAN'T JUST SAY THEIR TRUE NAMES LIKE THEY'RE NOTHING AT ALL. WHAT KIND OF ASSASSIN JUST BLURTS OUT THEIR TRUE NAME. OH HOW BADLY I WANNA YELL AT THIS MORON FOR SAYING HIS TRUE NAME LIKE THAT.

"Great. I'm Rin, and to my left is Shiro," I replied calmly, despite how badly I wanted to tear this idiot's throat out for blurting his true name like that. Just as the idiot was about to say something back Shiro and I walked away and headed towards the school.

"Say, have you heard the name Pendragon before? I don't know why but it sounds familiar to me," I asked Shiro as we walked to the school's front gate.

"I don't remember hearing of anyone by that name in the World Military, not under the Hale family's command anyway," she replied.

If I'm right, there was a Special Officer under either the current leader of the New World, Queen Sena, or under the Sil family section of the World Military's army with the code name "Dragon". I'll have Percy do some investigating later on. As we passed the school's gate, we encountered two students who looked to first years like us standing and admiring the statues. One was a girl with short, green hair, and the other was also a girl with shorter, green hair and holding a briefcase that looked really expensive.

"I'm impressed! They went as far as to get down every detail to the last crease in my armor!" The girl with the long hair said.

YOUR armor? Unless Jaeger is actually some schoolgirl, this girl is starting to annoy me.

"You know, you girls are gonna be late to the entrance ceremony if you keep standing here admiring the statues," I said as I walked towards them.

As soon as I approached them, I could instantly tell something was off about them. The girl with long hair gave off this menacing aura and the one with short hair had a much calmer one. These two are Assassins, just like us. If not both, then at least the one with long hair.

"Hmm? Late?" The girl with long hair turned to face me and asked. The second I saw her full face, I was a little flustered. Her green hair reminded me of a field of grass with the sun shining down on it, and her eyes remind me of the blue you see in the sky during the most beautiful nights. And the red in her eyes reminds me of the roses we used to keep at home. How can someone's beauty captivate another person like this? I could stare at her for hours and still have this exact reaction. NO NO NO! FOCUS RIN! DO NOT GET DISTRACTED BY THIS ASSASSIN GIRL!

"You know, if you two keep standing here you'll be late for the entrance ceremony starting in about 3 minutes," I said, after being stunned for a good few seconds. I can only pray to the gods Shiro doesn't start annoying me about this until the end of time.

"My my. Did I just catch you blushing Rin? Shiro said in that stupid annoying tone of hers.

I pulled on her ear and simply said "Not a word Shiro."

"So you're Rin and Shiro? Hmm. I don't know why but I feel like I've met you somewhere," The girl with the long hair said while rubbing her chin.

She wasn't wrong, we definitely have met somewhere before, but as Assassins instead of regular people. I've fought a lot of female Assassins so remembering where is gonna be a little tough. I shouldn't just tell her we've met as Assassins or that I even know she's an Assassin.

"We might. But if we have, then I have no clue where." I replied while scratching my head. "Can we continue this conversation later? I really don't wanna be late." I asked as I began to walk with Shiro right behind me. I heard the girl say something, but she was too far for me to pay attention to, as by now we'd been running into the main building. It would NOT look good if two representatives for the first years got to the ceremony late.

We got to the building with less than a minute to spare and went to our places with the other representatives for each year behind the stage. Shiro and I didn't really talk to anyone there until it came time to show up on stage. Once they called for the representatives for the first years, we all took our places and waited for our names to be called so we could give our speeches. Someone who looked to be an upperclassman went first.

"To all of our first years, I, Walker Cens, Vice President of the student council, welcome you to Aya Academy! Unfortunately, our student council president and other members couldn't make it today to this assembly as other matters unexpectedly came up, but at least I was able to make it here to welcome all of you new students. You will spend the next 8 years of your life here in our academy learning to be the best version of yourselves possible. Depending on the course you chose, you will attend classes based on the course, as well as basic classes such as maths and history. Each course has a representative for each year, and as you can see, the representatives for the first years in each course are all standing next to me. They will represent you as a whole, giving your feedback to the student council and attending things like assemblies and even the competitions we have with other academies. Of the 8 highest academies the New World has to offer, Aya Academy stands at the top, as shown by our results in each competition and the services we give to the New World. Things like status don't mean anything here, your skills and abilities are what take you to places in this academy! Take great pride in being a student at this academy! Now for your representatives to give their speeches. First, in the Research & Development course, with a perfect score on her entrance exam, Shiro Enshino!" Walker said.

If I've ever seen a natural-born leader, it's definitely this Walker guy. He seems like a somewhat respectable person.

As Shiro walked up and began to speak, everything just went silent for me. I was far too busy panicking thinking of what I was going to say the combat course first years. I don't do things like speeches and I'm really bad at them too.

I don't know what Shiro said during her speech at all, but once she finished, Walker said "And now, representing the first years in the combat course with a perfect score on his entrance exam, Rin-" but got cut off by a large explosion in the front of the building.

The second I heard that explosion the first thing I did was run over to the explosion site, where I found about 50 men with weapons walking in.

"So very sorry to interrupt such an important event for you all, but we just couldn't wait any longer to say hello to you all!" A voice called out from behind all of the men.

As they got closer, it turned out it was a tall and geared up man. "Before I say anything else, however, I should introduce myself. My name is Angelo, and these men and I here are members of the Rising Angels!"

"Rising Angels"? I've never heard of them but they're most likely another terrorist organization who just want to destroy the New World and rebuild it in their sick image. It wouldn't be the first time I've had an encounter with a group like that.

"Angelo huh? It's a pleasure to meet you!" Another voice yelled out.

Before I even had time to look around someone blew a hole in the ceiling and jumped down. I recognized that armor design and voice, and with an entrance like that, it has to be who I think it is.

"I'm Jaeger. Remember that name, because it's the last one you'll ever hear!" She exclaimed as he pulled out a lance and dashed towards them to take out 2 of them with a spin of it.

Ramiel is the name of that lance, and if they know anything about Jaeger then they should know just how powerful that lance is.

In response to her attack, the soldiers all aimed what looked to be flamethrowers at her, only to fail spectacularly.

"Was that supposed to do something? Burn me perhaps? Because it felt like a little breeze hit my face!" She said in response. She's mastered every element, so she can easily absorb it like nothing and even redirect it into her Sacred Weapon if she wants to. Before she could properly raise her lance, something froze her in place.

"I know who you are, Jaeger. I also know just how powerful you are." Angelo replied, holding his hand out.

He was using some weird kind of magic to make her stay in place like that. What is it though? Stasis Magic? Never mind that, what's important is that I help. No way I'll let Jaeger lose to some nobody.

I walked back slowly and over to somewhere no one could see me as fast as I could using a technique called Vanishing Breath. If you can extinguish your presence with a single breath, you could be surrounded by hundreds of people and they wouldn't even notice you. It's extremely helpful in tons of situations, especially now. The only real downside to it is my ability to attack and defend is limited. Once I reached a safe spot I put my fists together and summoned my Assassin armor, equipped my mask, and followed up by going across the ceiling until I was close to Jaeger.

By the time I could get a close look at Jaeger they'd damaged her armor to the point her mask fell apart and her entire face was visible. It was that girl with the long hair from this morning with the statues. That's Jaeger?! Now what she said suddenly makes sense to me about how good they made her armor look. THAT DOESN'T MATTER RIN! FOCUS ON SAVING JAEGER!

As I was about to get close, I saw some guy who was beyond giant holding a giant ax, ready to slice Jaeger in two. Taking advantage of your opponent while they're frozen to kill them? Pathetic. I jumped down just as the brute swung his ax to kill Jaeger and caught it with two fingers, only to break it into pieces almost right after.

"You shouldn't try to kill your opponent while they're frozen in place. It's rather unfair you know." I said as I looked over to the brute, who was in absolute shock.

"D-Devil?! There's no way you're here! WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?!" Jaeger cried out in shock.

If she could see my face, she'd see the smirk I gave alongside my reply of "It doesn't matter if you're immortal or not, the only person who can even remotely hurt you in a fight is me. You're MY rival."

If I'm not careful, that Angelo bastard will use whatever weird-ass magic he has on me, and then who knows what he could do to the other students here. Before he could cast any magic spells on me, I raced over to his backside and kicked him into a wall with little force, though it might've been stronger than I'd hoped it to be. It HAS been a little while since I fought an actual human being that wasn't Jamie. "Tensa!" I called out, to which my hand cannon Tensa responded and materialized into my left hand.

"FIRE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE AT THE ASSASSIN AND DON'T YOU DARE HESITATE! IF YOU HESITATE, YOU WILL BE KILLED! NOW FIRE!" I heard a voice cry out, and it sounded like Angelo.

In an instant, I could hear every gun these guys had trained on me and their powerful intent to kill was like a force boxing me in. Once those guns fired, all I did was stand there and take the barrage head-on. Once they ran out of ammo for every last weapon they had, I was just standing there with a smirk on my face, but they couldn't see it.

"If you know almost everything about an Assassin like Jaeger and how to counter her, then you should also know how to do the same with the Devil of Light. And another thing you should know is that regular guns don't stand a chance against Assassins, especially against ones that can control gravity!" I said as the bullets that hit me all began to float, only for me to make a ring out of them and send them flying with a single kick. As every bullet hit their target and disoriented, weakened, or killed them, I used Tensa to destroy any of their melee weapons.

"You guys are no fun at all. And here I was hoping to enjoy myself some today." I said as I holstered Tensa and unsheathed Seiya from my back to finish off anyone who was still standing. As I walked towards Angelo to capture him, I felt a giant presence coming at me, but I couldn't tell from what direction. By the time I began to look around, I was too late and got an enormous fist straight to my face, which knocked me all the back to where the crowd of students was along with Jaeger.

"Well, would you look at that! I never thought the great Devil of Light was just a kid, and that I'd get a hit in strong enough to destroy his helmet! Are you even the real Devil if you're this weak?" the man said.

From what I can remember seeing before he smashed my face in, he was a giant covered from head to toe in armor. As I stood up I could feel my helmet falling off in little pieces at a time, but I didn't care.

"Oi, just who the hell are you calling a kid?" I said as I stood up and looked at him, losing control of my bloodlust.

As I grabbed Seiya, the count on the weapon glowed, turning his look of confidence quickly turned into one of fear.

"What's the matter? You look scared." I asked with a smirk.

"That sword. And t-th-that count. There's no way in hell it's really you! THERE ISN'T!" He yelled in fear.

My count stands for every kill I've made, and it's extremely common knowledge.

"Don't worry about it, you'll be preoccupied with other things." I replied as I dashed over to him and held Seiya directly up to his throat.

I can't kill him now, his tech and armor is a complete mystery so interrogating him is the most important thing now. I moved Seiya and sliced his shoulder with little force and effort. As he fell down and cried out in pain, I heard multiple men stand up behind me ready to use their magic on me.

"If guns won't work on you, then magic will!" one of the men shouted. In an instant, the men released multiple kinds of magic, which is just annoying as hell.

The first thing to try to hit me was what looked like a flexible iron beam, only to be followed up by more of them. I responded by dodging but the next thing that came at me was a golem made from earth. How annoying can you humans get?

"Rin? Is your comm still working?" Shiro said through my comms.

"Yeah, luckily! Listen, I've got my hands full as it is and there are about 6 or 7 humans total. Any way I can take these bastards out without hurting any of the students?" I asked as I dodged repeatedly.

"Actually, I've been working on something that might be perfect for a situation like this! Make your way to me as fast as you can!" she replied.

I don't know what this thing she wants to give me is, but I trust Shiro when it comes to things like this. I summoned both Tensa and Tenma into my hands and tried to shoot down any iron beams alongside the golem. After getting a brief few seconds to breathe, I loaded a flame mag, and a gravity shot mag into my guns and fired the grav mag at the golem and followed up with the flame mag at the crowd of soldiers to try to blind them. I doubt the flame mag succeeded though, seeing as how they had what looked to be two guys providing defense. I took the opportunity and jumped over the disoriented golem and ran to Shiro. When I landed in front of her one of the men fired an arrow made of fire at me. Elemental magic isn't an issue for an Assassin, so I simply holstered Tenma, extended my right palm forward, and absorbed the fire as it collided with my hand.

"Rin, use this!" Shiro yelled as she tossed me a mag for my Sacred Weapons. I caught it and smirked as I loaded it into Tensa. I aimed it at the group, who were now trying to focus on defense instead of offense. "Charge it up with lightning!" Shiro yelled, to which I did in just a few short seconds.

Once it was fully charged, I pulled the trigger and a beam of pure lightning came out of Tensa and decimated every last bit of defense they had, alongside keeping the collateral damage to a minimum.

When the smoke cleared, the men had all been on the floor, maybe dead, and when I looked over at Shiro, I said "You keep outdoing yourself with every new tool you make for me."

She smiled brightly, only for that smile to turn into a look of worry when we heard "Rin?!" come from behind her. At this point, I'd forgotten my helmet got destroyed and began to touch my face to check. Arthur came out from the crowd with his jaw wide. "You're actually the Devil of Light. I can't believe it. THIS WHOLE TIME I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS OFF BUT I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS!" He exclaimed like a madman.

"About that," I replied while chuckling nervously.

"I knew your identity would get discovered someday, but I didn't expect it to be on your first day of school," another voice said. I know that voice way better than any other.

"I knew today would be a shitty day," I said while putting my face into my hand.

"Don't be so negative Rin! It's a good thing your identity is out anyway. You don't need to make excuses and lie about it anymore!" the voice followed up as the man behind it stepped forward.

"Major James Hale and company. Just great." Shiro said.

As Hale's men began to capture anyone still alive we heard another voice which just made things worse. "DON'T FORGET ME!!!" a woman yelled as she ran past the old man and took Shiro and me and hugged us tightly. "I missed you two soooooo much! It's been way too long! You should call Rin! You too Shiro!" she exclaimed as she crushed our lungs. It took everything we had to push her away and catch our breaths.

"You might just be the only human who can kill an Assassin with a simple hug, Jamie." the old man said.

"Listen, Jim, just because they're adopted into the family doesn't mean they aren't my niece and nephew! Besides, how many times have you nearly killed Rin and Shiro while hugging them? I BET YOU it's more times than I have!" she replied, to which Shiro, Hale, and I all froze.

"Wait, Major Hale, the Frost King, is your FATHER?!" Arthur said.

CAN TODAY GET ANY GODDAMNED WORSE?!
