Despondent Sisters

In the comforting japanese city of Mitaka, in a tiny neighborhood, there are two sisters who freshly moved in together. We twins were split apart for 14 years, because of our parents... they kept us apart...

My sister and me, on the surface at least, we both knew that we existed. Yet, our parents didn't want us to meet one bit, for some reason.

I don't want to talk about this topic any more.....

Now, me and my sister weren't too far from being finished with moving into our new house! The boxes were more or less unpacked, and we both decided to take a tiny break on our new sofa!

Time to introduce who we are!

I am Airi Ayami. I am a 16-year old girl with sand colored hair, a right-sided pigtail, purple eyes, and a smile that welcomes all to be my friend.

Most of the time, I am wearing my teal junior high school uniform jacket, white sailor shirt, blue skirt, and cute shoes.

Airi awkwardly asked, ''Sister? This new tv is terrific, isn't it? The anime is neat too!''

Ami irritatingly replied, ''Huh? Excuse me. I am busy trying to read this guide for our upcoming class, around the corner. (Sighs) What do you want?''

My sister here is Ami Ayami. I could tell, she is surely my real sister... Her hair is the same color, but her left-sided pigtail is lower than mine...

She has cute white flower accessories, her eyes are yellow behind smart-looking glasses, and a face that I didn't understand. We wear the same school uniforms too...

Airi said with a smile, ''Tell me sister, what do you think of our new house? Isn't it great?''

Ami infuriatingly replied, ''I couldn't care less... Our tv is only minor background noise to me. Now, don't interrupt my preparations. (Irritated sound)''

Airi eagerly thought, ''Drats... That didn't work out... I want to get to know her, but how? How can I get her to open up? (Thinks)''

Moments later...

Airi joyfully asked, ''Sister?'' Ami vexed, replied, ''What?'' Airi asked, ''So... you are into reading?''

Ami acceptingly answered, ''(Closes book) Books are something all saplings should have. They hold knowledge that all should know. Listen to me, sister.

Knowledge is the key to bettering your soul, mind, and future. Uhh-uh! (Clears throat) . .So, yes... I read... A tyke like you should be reading for your own sake, but..... Why should I care?' (Back to reading)'

I had no idea what to say, after that... I got sucked in to the anime on screen.....

Later...

Anime announcer said, ''Tune in next week, for more! Goodbye!'' 

Airi stretches and said, ''I can't wait to see more. Sister? . .Would you like for me to make us dinner? I do know how to cook finely enough. It would be cool if we could eat together.''

Ami twitches and said, ''Listen, you. I can tell what you are trying to do, and it is not needed. Yes, my body needs fuel, but I can cook my own meals perfectly fine and I will eat by myself.''

Airi cheerfully asked, ''You know how to cook? Do you? Please, tell me!'' Ami said, irritated, ''Yes, and you can make your own dinner for yourself. (Glares) Connecting is a waste of my precious time, and yours as well. Now.....''

After that, I made dinner and I ate alone by the tv, not knowing what to say to her... Ami made food for herself, then she walked to her room upstairs...

After she went in the kitchen, I thought I heard lots of weird noises from her, but I had no clue what to ask… Both of us were in our rooms for what was left of the day...

I was lost in thinking about her on my bed...

Airi thought, ''Ami... You don't get it... 'Waste of our time?' The last 14 years of our life... has been a waste, already... We are sisters, and we hardly know each-other...

(Moans) No. No... I wish to know my sister better. I wish to understand her nature, her favorites, her secrets, and I want to see her smile... I want to know what a real sister feels like.

(Sits up) Don't give up, Airi! . .Sis! I will make you change your mind! Like my video games, This is surely the prelude to a future where we are real adoring sisters! I will show you..... after this.....(Falls asleep)
