The Life and Death of a Degenerate

In the eyes of society, Khan was an absolute degenerate, a perfect depiction of the word 'failure'.

From a very young age, Khan realised that he was not like others. He didn't care about the opinions that his parents or his teachers held of him. For some time, he truly cared about nothing at all, he saw everything as dull, bleak and empty. For a child to feel this way was truly unusual, it concerned his parents for some time.

That is, until Khan changed.

One day, Khan decided that since this life was so dull, he just needed to make it more interesting. From that moment on, he only cared about one thing; the pursuit of his own pleasure.

Back when he was a child and lacked knowledge of many things in this world, 'pleasure' was limited to food and playing. Luckily he played so much and with such intensity that he didn't get fat from the absurd amount of food that he devoured each day.

He refused to do any work, it was too boring and didn't catch his interest in the least. His teachers were simply unable to motivate him into caring about his education, he was an extreme problem child. He often just stood up and left the classroom when he was bored.

If anyone tried to get in his way, he would assault them without a shred of guilt or empathy.

As he grew older, his parents, the teachers and eventually the authorities, tried to force Khan to attend various therapies. He actually found this quite entertaining and took the time to chat with the therapists. That was only on the days that he felt like showing up though, and only when the therapist was someone he enjoyed speaking with, until he became bored with them also.

As he grew older and reached highschool, Khan's eyes were opened to a whole new world. Food was still a big pleasure of his, but he was soon introduced to other things such as alcohol and girls.

He ate whatever he wanted, he got drunk, he had sex with any girl that took his fancy. His unrestrained lifestyle led to him being hated by many people, and by a certain point, he could probably be considered 'evil' by most, considering just how far he would go to satisfy himself.

Beyond the basic pleasures such as food and women, Khan also desired to live an interesting life. To him, a life filled with excitement was the only way to live.

With his escalating lifestyle, Khan actually ended up taking certain measures to assure his continued health and safety. He exercised often to stay in good shape, he made sure to consume the right amount of vitamins and nutrients, even when he was also binge eating junk food. He learned multiple martial arts to defend himself, and so on.

Khan was so fixated on enjoying all of the pleasures in life, that he actually put quite a bit of work into being able to do so.

He did not start living a modest lifestyle though, far from it in fact. Some days, he felt lazy and slept the entire day...or the entire week. He sometimes spent the week doing nothing but getting as intoxicated as humanly possible. He oftentimes did nothing but sleep with an array of girls throughout the month, whilst lazing about in his spare time.

And yet, he always stayed in good shape, because he devoted himself to staying healthy by working hard in the time that he wasn't just playing.

From how much he engaged in these behaviours which were typically considered highly addictive, one might assume that Khan was an addict, a sex addict, a food addict and an alcoholic. And in truth, whenever he was introduced to a new worldly pleasure, he often did overdo it…but only for a period of time.

After adjusting to all of life's pleasures, it was as if all of the degeneracy balanced the rest out somehow. Khan often went for weeks or months without engaging with one, two or all of these things. As he grew older, he also became more calculated in his consumption - he understood how to live this lifestyle without destroying himself.

However, not a day went by that he didn't fill with sin, in some shape or form.

He was lazy and hard working, self destructive and health conscious, seemingly addicted, yet able to control himself whenever he needed to.

To others, Khan was simply another degenerate, a person who got lucky with his health and his life in general. But Khan never felt like he was doing anything 'wrong', simply that his way of living was different to others. As for what others thought of him? He still couldn't care less.

Because to Khan, only living like this interested him.

Eventually though, such bad habits would naturally catch up to him.

It all started when a teacher became enraged and started making trouble with him after finding out that Khan slept with his wife…every day for a month straight. Sometimes the two even did it after school, over the very desks in the classes that he taught!

Khan had a very low tolerance when it came to dealing with such bullshit. He kicked the teacher in the balls, then punched him in the face and knocked him unconscious. When the police arrived, Khan was still feeling impatient and refused to cooperate.

Something inside him snapped, or rather, he came to an understanding, a sort of enlightenment. That understanding, was that from then on, he didn't want to back down in this life, not ever. No matter the consequences, he would just do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, however he wanted.

Not because he believed that this was 'right', or because he was bound by his own pride, but simply because he felt like this was a more interesting way to live.

And so, he snapped the officer's arm without the slightest warning. The faces of the surrounding teachers and students were priceless, he would never forget their fearful and shocked expressions.

The crowd would never forget the carefree smile that Khan wore as he assaulted each officer. They would never forget how he burst out laughing after realising that he had accidentally killed one of police officers when they tripped, fell backwards and smashed their skull against the concrete curb.

Khan felt a weird sense of peace as he was arrested. He tried to resist up until that point, but after he was taken into custody, it became impossible to escape and he immediately stopped caring. He even took a nap on the way to the police station.

Whenever the police tried to deal with him thereafter, he would attack them without mercy whenever given the slightest chance. And yet, he was calm and tranquil whenever there was no opportunity presented.

He was locked up in solitary confinement until the day of his trial.

"What do you have to say for yourself, with all of this evidence laid out in front of us?" The judge asked sternly.

Khan chose to represent himself, a stupid decision in the eyes of everyone. But, dealing with a lawyer meant following the system and he didn't care much for doing so, that wouldn't be interesting at all. The evidence was absolutely beyond any doubt anyway, so no matter what, he was going to prison for a long time, almost certainly for the rest of his life, given how he'd acted until now.

"It is what it is, lighten up a bit. You all take life too seriously, haha." Khan only said this in his trial, before sitting down on his seat, then falling asleep within seconds before the disbelieving gazes of all who were watching.

Due to his behaviour, this case drew so much attention that it was even broadcast to the nation, leaving millions utterly speechless at Khan's behaviour.

He was labelled as 'evil' and a 'psychopath'. He showed no remorse, and after his arrest, many other crimes started coming to light. With each new crime, Khan lost more and more sympathy from the nation.

He'd become somewhat of a celebrity with his carefree attitude towards life, but as more and more of his crimes came to light, it became difficult for any of his fans to continue supporting him. He was depraved, beyond saving!

Nothing was out of bounds for Khan. He didn't even care when his family found out about everything he'd done. They already knew that he was a bit troublesome, but this was beyond their expectations.

He could have explained why he did those things, but, Khan didn't care what they thought. In the first place, he saw nothing wrong with what he did.

As for the acts themselves, if he truly did think that he would enjoy committing horrendous acts on entirely innocent people, Khan would do so without thinking twice. He wasn't restrained by his morality, only by his lack of desire towards such acts. He found it more entertaining to harm 'deserving' people though, people who had wronged him. As for everyone else? He was indifferent, he cared for almost nobody.

"Khan…this is the last time we'll visit you. It's too much, you're a monster, beyond saving." His father showed a firm expression as he visited Khan in prison. His mother cried from behind him, whilst his younger sister suddenly showed a shocked expression.

"Dad, you can't do this, I refuse, I want to keep visiting big brother!" Khan's sister, a girl called Hina, cried out. She was a couple of years younger than Khan, and the only person who stuck with him throughout all of this.

"It's fine Hina, I'll find a way out eventually." Khan completely ignored his parents and smiled warmly at his younger sister. Out of the many people in this world, she was the only one he cared about, the only person that he would never hurt. She was also the only person who truly understood him.

Two years into his prison sentence, Khan bitterly realised that he would be unable to keep his promise to his sister.

"Ah, what a shame." He sighed, feeling that it was a pity, as he stared down at the nine shivs sticking into his abdomen. The pain was searing and his life was surely coming to an end, but he only showed a slight smile, with a faint trace of sadness hidden within his eyes.

"I really thought that I'd be able to enjoy myself for another few decades. Oh well, it is what it is…this life was always gonna end some time, at least my death was interesting, haha…"

There were dozens of inmates all around, staring down at Khan in disbelief. This was a rough prison, but the murder of an innate still wasn't common. More so than that though, Khan's reaction to his own death was just…

"Even as you're dying, you're still an unbearable little prick." Seeing Khan's weakening expression, the leader of this assault stepped forwards. He was tattooed from head to toe, even his head was shaven and covered in the prison style tattoos.

"If you realise that, then why make such a stupid mistake?" Khan spoke as he looked down at the floor. As his blood dripped down his body, nobody paid attention to his face which was contorting into a ridiculing smile.

"What are you-"

CHI!

Just as the leader of the ambush was feeling uneasy, Khan had already leapt towards him. As he moved, he ripped one of the shivs out from his own stomach, before stabbing the tattooed man in the throat.

Khan really was at his limit now and dropped to the floor. Shortly after, he heard a thud as the leader of this prison, the man who he had insulted on day 1, attacked on day 2, and killed the followers of on day 3, dropped dead besides him.

"Hahaha…" As his final strand of life slipped away, Khan laughed.

He didn't regret how he lived his life, not in any way, shape or form. He enjoyed every second of this life, even these final painful and hopeless moments. This sort of exciting life was the only way to live in his eyes.

Why take everything so seriously? What was the point in getting genuinely worked up over every little thing?

His only regret, was not being able to live for a while longer so that he could dwell in sin some more.

That's the first chapter! Here we have a story where the main character is an absolute degenerate. Well, let's see where this goes.
