Raining Shadows

Marcus was lying carefreely in his bed with light snores as he slept comfortably in his cabin.

Though that comfort lasted for only a few hours before he detected some intruders trying to enter his cabin thanks to his cautious nature of putting up some runes on the room.

Immediately waking up he looked around trying to sense the presence of the intruders only to have a grave look dawn on his face as some moments passed.

The ferry that he was travelling on was boarded by a dozen of assassins close to 15 as they had killed off all passengers, crewmen and even sailors including child or elderly as their blood flowed through the ferry.

The whole ferry was dyed in red as the strong smell of iron eminated in the air signalling of a massacre that took place.

Now Marcus didn't care of all the lives whether innocent or not that were killed off but what infuriated him was the murder of five 7-10 year old children.

The death of those children infuriated Marcus in rage and sadness as images of his daughter being sold and tortured surfaced his mind.

This called for Vengeance.

Vengeance for the blood of those innocent souls of children.

He no longer cared what action they took on him, they dared to extend their fangs on children in his presence and he will bloody make sure to understand who they had tried to provoke. Cause he was going to slaughter them.

Silently opening the windows, Marcus placed some stealth runes on himself as he taking the upper edge of the window as a support climbed the overdeck and slowly disappeared into the darkness.

While some assassins were busy trying to enter Marcus's cabin he had already made his way to the cockpit of the ship.

Looking through the glass on the door he saw two dark dressed men standing on guard as three dead bodies laid before them with blood seeping in the entire room but the men still remained unbothered by it.

Taking advantage of his superior stealth he crouched towards one of the nearest man as he took him by surprise with a sudden choke hold.

Only for a sound of the broken neck to ring inside the cockpit due to Marcus's superior strength. This sound though surprised the other man which Marcus wholly took advantage by throwing a dagger straight to his head borrowed from the now dead man in his other arm.

Making sure that they are dead he immediately went through their possession and didn't find much of importance.

Finally checking the Captain of the ship who had his neck slitted he got the master keys and checked the ferry's route which was difficult due to the unexpected broken radar and the radio equipment destroyed.

'So they didn't want a single survivor if he or she turns out to be lucky, tsk.'

Checking the ferry layout plan stuck on the wall behind and remembering the location of the engine room and evacuation boats Marcus stealthily left the cockpit.

All this while the assassins had spread out all over the ferry looking for the man who had came out of the engine room towards the stairs to the upper deck.

Making his way to the top deck he observed three men in black by the stairs so Marcus immediately leapt forward in a spring with his dagger held at eye level as he walked by one slitting his throat and jumping on the second with his leg around his neck rolling with the dagger thrown at the last moment to the last man's eye socket and finally clenching his leg to snap the neck of the man.

Standing up as he cleared the blood on his hand on the corpse and taking the side Glock on him he walked forward not caring for the downed men.

Walking forward on the starboard of the deck he saw two men but that didn't halt Marcus's pace as he kept crouch walking aiming his sights and pressing the trigger.

The sound of the silenced shot rang in the nearby surrounding as two shots flew hitting a man's heart and then the head making him fall with a thud attracting the attention of the man farther away. As soon as the man turned around he was too met with the same fate.

Leaving them aside he hopped on the inflatable boat as he worked on it to check the supplies.

It had only been a few moments when multiple shots rang and hit the metal bar nearby.

*TING~

The noise attracted the rest of the assassins to the location as Marcus laid down straight on his back in the boat with the gun held tightly against his chest as bullets flew past his head.

Looking around that could grant him some privilege Marcus finally lifted his gun and shot the lever placed directly overhead making the rope loose and the boat to fall down in the waves downstairs.

With the boat landed Marcus immediately pulled the string of the motor as he drove a few distance away amidst the flying bullets and arrows.

Meanwhile in the engine room, there was a large amount of fuel stored in a room but the peculiar thing about it was multiple symbols engraved on walls that slowly glowed until they became bright red and then finally exploded.

At some distance away Marcus looked back as he saw the drowning ferry boat and the screams of some men burning alive only to turn his gaze back lying down back in the boat closing his eyes to catch his breath he held unknowingly.

Taking pleasure of the ringing sound of despair and pain of the black hooded men Marcus smiled lightly as he closed his eyes falling into a sweet sleep.
