Chapter 18: Arena War Game

It was midnight and Bete and Noctis were heading back to the Twilight Manor from the Hostess of Fertility. Finn was walking around late at night since he was going to tell Noctis the plan for tomorrow he decided to wait for him to come back.

Finn saw Bete coming and started to walk up. But as he was walking up he noticed Bete was actually carrying Noctis.

Bete had a huge grin on his face "Finn I out drank Noctis easily."

Finn just pinched the bridge of his nose "Bete Noctis needs to be ready for a War Game tomorrow."

Bete laughed and waved his hand "Noctis here will easily take care of it."

Bete then started to walk to the rooms to drop Noctis off in his bed. Finn was bewildered "How did Noctis get Bete to like him."

Finn then formed a smile on his face as he started to head back inside as well.

The next morning Noctis woke up staring at his ceiling. Noctis got out of bed and grabbed his head he sighed "Loki will probably be pissed."

Later that day

Noctis was in the meeting room with Loki and the rest of the advanced group. Loki was sitting down across from Noctis with her hands together and her chin resting on her hands. She has been staring at Noctis for a couple minutes.

Noctis just had a huge smile on his face as all the other members had a wry smile on their faces except for Riveria and Ais who were neutral.

Loki sighed "You know you have a War Game today right?"

Noctis nodded "I still get to decide what happens if I win right?"

Loki nodded "Yes you do. But be aware all the Gods and Goddesses were made aware of this. The festival is already going on Ganesha made quick work to hold this as an event. You are going to be fighting in a huge arena. You versus the four members of Takemikazuchi's Familia."

Noctis smiled "I got it. I think it will be pretty easy."

Ais tilted her head "Easy? You still don't have a weapon and is your armor not broken"?

Noctis shrugged "My armors broken but it makes no difference."

Noctis got up "Just enjoy the festival I'm going to head to the arena to get ready."

A couple hours later

Noctis was walking around the festival. Nothing seemed to really interest him. He had been walking around for a couple hours just trying to find something. Then he saw Marin Kitagawa. Noctis quickly went to a stall and bought two meat sticks.

Noctis then went up to Marin who was not facing him "Hey Marin you want a meat stick?"

Marin turned around when she saw it was Noctis she rolled her eyes "Did you not learn from yesterday."

Noctis shrugged "Yesterday was yesterday. Right now it's today and today I'm offering you a meat stick."

Marin stared at him as if he was an idiot. She then looked at the meat stick and grabbed it from Noctis and started to walk away.

Noctis shrugged "There is always tomorrow."

Later that night

An arena was filled with thousands of adventurers and their Gods. Loki was in her private box with her main frontier/advance group. Loki looked over at the arena that was still currently empty. "I want all of you to focus and to learn how Noctis fights I expect a report from everyone as I want to understand it as well. This will be good for team coordination in the future."

Everyone nodded and were getting ready for the fight. Across the arena was Freya's private box. Freya smiled "Marin I heard the boy fighting caused you to slam his head into a bar."

Marin was eating a meat stick and nodded "Yea Lady Freya he is somehow similar to me and looked into my soul."

Freya gripped the chair tightly "Everyone but Marin out. Even you Ottar."

Ottar gave a slight bow "Of course."

Freya then asked "Does he know about Syr?"

Marin shrugged "I can not tell. But I would error on the side that he does if he is anything like me. He also might be of the same race."

Freya's eyes widened "I thought I felt something the first day he came in. Are you sure though? In the reports it says he is a blood elf."

Marin smirked "Well technically I am too. Correct?"

Freya leaned back "I want you to get close to him."

Marin narrowed her eyes "Why not just kill him?"

Freya looked over "Well two reasons. I want him in my Familia. Also because it would cause too big an issue if we killed him he is part of Loki's Familia after all. It makes more sense to flip him."

Marin sighed "I'm not in favor of it but fine."

Freya nodded "Good let everyone back in. Time to see what he can do."

Marin thought 'He is more annoying then anything.'

Marin then looked back at Freya and thought'I don't know why she thinks she can just tell em to do stuff sometimes.'

Marin then looked out at the arena 'If he is similar to me he might be more interesting then I thought.'

At a different side of the arena was Hermès private box. Hermès was talking to Asfi Al Andromeda. Hermès seemed interested in the fight "Do you think he can be the hero I have been looking for?"

Asfi nodded "It is possible however from reports we have received he is not looked upon quite well by the public."

Hermès leaned back "We will see I suppose."

Then in another private box was Hephaestus. Hephaestus sighed "Let's see what the kid can do I suppose. Loki keeps asking me to make him some weapons."

Tsubaki shrugged "Why though he is just a level three."

Hephaestus leaned her head on her hand "That's what I want to find out."

Ganesha then stepped out from a platform and made his way to the center of the stage. "Today we have an official War Game between the Loki Familia and the Takemikazuchi Familia. This has been decided due to a pass parade happening against the Loki Familia. I am Ganesha."

Ganesha then continued "This will be a fight of one person from the Loki Familia and the four members of the Takemikazuchi Familia. I am Ganesha."

Ganesha then yelled "Coming from the left side we have the Takemikazuchi Familia. (They started to walk out.) All being level 2 it is Asuka the mage, Hitachi the martial artist, Mikoto the samurai and then finally their leader and Captain Oukaaa!! I am Ganesha."

As they were coming out they all started to get booed. It was a big offense to do a Pass Parade. Not necessarily a rule but an unwritten one that was considered very taboo.

Ganesha then yelled "Now from the right side the very member of the Loki Familia that they Pass Paraded. The new adventurer in town who is breaking the level up records and newly at level three. Noctis ! The Blood Mage!!! I am Ganesha!"

Noctis got some mixed reviews from the crowd. While they did feel sympathy for getting Pass Paraded many still knew about his lack of care for other adventurers. Many people also believe he has somehow cheated to level up so fast. People in the crowd either cheered for him or booed him. Many wanted him to kill the others or for he himself to die tonight.

When Noctis walked out as well he received many shocked gasps even from his enemies for the night. He was walking out in his broken samurai armor that broke due to the Pass Parade. Ganesha ran up to him as many people were confused and he went to get an answer. After a couple whispers Ganesha came back to the center.

Ganesha coughed "Apparently Noctis is using the same armor that was destroyed as such due to the Pass Parade. I am Ganesha."

Many people started to boo the Takemikazuchi Familia again. Takemikazuchi who was standing in the entrance of where his Familia just entered was hanging his head down at the spectacle. He looked at Noctis's armor that was riddled with holes and stabbed wounds. You could still see the blood that was old from his fight.

Ganesha then yelled "The rules are simple. It is a one versus four. Once one side is fully incapacitated it is over and the winner will be decided. Anything goes. Should someone die in the process that is what happens. Fighters please get in your positions. I am Ganesha."

Noctis and the Takemikazuchi Familia got into the center as Ganesha ran up to his private box that had a podium to continue with the announcements.

Once they got to the center they were given a moment to talk as Ganesha was still running up.

Noctis started to stretch "So how you guys doing?"

They were all clearly nervous but Ouka spoke "Is all that damage really from the pass parade?"

With Noctis's broken armor you could see almost his whole upper torso as well as two giant bull horns in his back. Their was also some sword slashes in his thighs and calves.

Noctis nodded and laughed "Yeah it is. You can still see the old blood."

Mikoto bowed to Noctis "I am still really sorry."

Noctis shrugged "Don't worry about it. (He then started to look around.) Not much sorry can do now."

Noctis smiled and put his hands on his hips as he leaned back "Hopefully none of you die."

They were shocked Ouka frowned "What do you mean."

Noctis finished stressing "Well my Familia wants me to go all out so I plan too. So just be prepared."

Noctis looked at Mikoto "Although I would rather not hurt a beautiful girl like you."

Mikoto turned her head and blushed. Not saying a word. Ganesha had just made it to the podium.

Ganesha yelled "Now it's finally time for the fight you have all been waiting for!! I am Ganesha!"

Noctis just stood their nonchalantly as Takemikazuchi Familia all got in their specific fighting stances stances.

Ganesha yelled "Now!! Let's get ready to rumbbblllleeee!!!!

I am Ganesha!!"
