Chapter 18: This old man will be the reason for my death one day!

After waiting for 20 minutes it was finally their turn. Chen Jiaxin gave the guards 30 silver coins as their entry fee.

Like cultivators, mortals have their currency in bronze, silver, and gold.

They didn't roam around much as it is already dark outside and found an inn to stay in for the night.

Chen Jiaxin was embarrassed about staying in the same room but Vishnu booked two different rooms for them.

The next morning after getting ready they both left the inn to look around. Vishnu is in no rush and wants to explore this new world so he asked Chen Jiaxin what to see and she suggested they should check out TATA Emporium. According to her, it is the largest Emporium in the entire Orion empire. They have branches in all the big cities and they sell everything from common mortal clothes to things even Core & Soul Fusion realm cultivators would bid to purchase.

When Vishnu reached he had to agree with her statement about being the largest Emporium. It was 20 stories high and as wide as a football stadium behemoth.

Vishnu soon calmed down and a satisfied smile appeared. This is the reason to explore the world to see all kinds of things. But as he entered TATA Emporium his eyes widened again. It was big, dazzling, and fancy!

There are Chandeliers, detailedly crafted statues that radiated a powerful aura, fountains that spat water that contained water Qi and he could see bridges connecting to different floors and stairs move as soon as someone stood upon them.

It was all too exciting to Vishnu's eyes. Chen Jiaxin saw Vishnu's reaction and smiled as that was her first reaction when she entered this place too. She soon took Vishnu's arm and pulled him to try out different clothes. They bought almost 20 pairs of clothes when finally she became satisfied.

Vishnu then keeps looking for different stores to see if something will catch his attention. Finally, he entered a store on the 17th floor. It sold artifacts and Vishnu became excited to see it.

"What would you like sir?" the man behind the counter asked. Vishnu looked around then replied "Swords"

The store clerk nodded and asked again " What kind of sword would you like sir? And which Rank?" Artifacts are also divided the same way as Alchemy products.

"Long Sword and Rank-3" Vishnu replies. Hearing Rank-3 the clerk's eyes shined. 'Big customer's thought. "Please wait a minute sir for Rank-3 artifacts I'd have to call the Manager" The guy went inside and after a minute another bearded guy comes out. First, he scanned Vishnu from top to bottom but he didn't judge him solely based on appearance. He smiled and showed him around.

Vishnu looked at all the Swords but nothing caught his eyes finally he settled for something. Even though not to his satisfaction it'd get the job done.

"That'd be 130 high-quality Qi stones sir," The manager said. Vishnu didn't even blink as he paid for it. He had earned enough money by selling his alchemy product during these 4 years so he could be considered somewhat rich.

"I'd also buy Exceptional quality lightning stones, Do you have any?" Vishnu knew that they were rare so he asked if they have any.

The manager's eyes lit up this time "You're lucky sir, We just got a new batch yesterday so it hadn't been sold out yet but we only have 3 left"

Vishnu thanked the heavens. He paid the price and bought those 3 Exceptional quality Lightning stones as well as 10 high-quality ones too.

Chen Jiaxin and Fenrir were busy doing their things so Vishnu didn't disturb them and went around doing his own thing when Arthur informed him something.

Vishnu was looking around when he heard Arthur's voice.

'Go into that shop I found something interesting there.' Vishnu looked to see that it was a normal clothing shop. He didn't understand why Arthur wants him to go there but he still went inside.

Looking around he found that it was a shop meant for males and there are different types of suits all around.

"So what is it?" Vishnu asked. Even when he used his spiritual sense to scan he didn't find anything peculiar.

'Don't rush just buy some suits.' Arthur said and he reluctantly bought two suits one all black and one White beige suit. As he went toward the counter to pay the bill he saw a beautiful girl behind it. In terms of looks, Vishnu could say she is as beautiful as Chen Jiaxin. With brown hair and black eyes, Vishnu felt mesmerized for a second.

Vishnu didn't linger around much. Paid the bill and left quickly. "What was that about the old man? Don't tell me you just wanted to see that girl up close!" Vishnu really thought that might've been the reason.

'Hey you brat, how old do you think I am to see girls who are probably still wet behind ears. I just wanted to confirm something.'

"Confirm what?"

'Her heart is on the right side.' Arthur explained.

"So what? There are few people like that in the world and they are not that special." Vishnu knew that there are some people with their hearts on the right side of the chest. And sects, Alchemists have performed various research to find if they're special in any way but it turned out they aren't.

'yeah, they are not that special but there is a cultivation method that could only be cultivated by those who have their heart on the right side and it isn't any average cultivation method it is one of the best I've come across.' Arthur remembered seeing the person who created this technique. That person had their heart on the right side and they developed their cultivation method. Cultivation methods are hard to create and that person created one that could be said to be one of the best out there from that one could just imagine how talented and hard-working that person must've been.

Vishnu didn't have much reaction to it. He even wondered why is the old man mentioning such stuff. It's not like he could cultivate that technique.

'Go in there and ask her if she has ever taken any part in sect examination.'

Vishnu didn't say much and again went inside the shop.

"Hello sir, Did you forget something?" The girl asked.

Vishnu looked her in the eye and asked "Have you ever taken the examination for any sect?"

"Huh!" the girl was taken aback by such a sudden question but she didn't want to disrespect the customer so she answered, "No, sir."

'Touch her hand.' Arthur said to Vishnu.

"Oh! Then have this talisman. You can contact me if you ever need anything." Vishnu didn't want to look like a pervert so he gave her a talisman and by doing that he touched her hand.

Just that moment, Arthur sent his energy into the girl through Vishnu, which none noticed.

'Excellent. She has enough talent' Vishnu heard Arthur shouting.

"Have you gone senile old man?"

'Hey kid, ask the girl if wants to become a cultivator.' Arthur didn't care what Vishnu said.

'Oh, Just what is going on.' Vishnu thought. He still doesn't know what this old man is planning but from the right heart story, he could guess up to some extent.

"Do you wanna become a cultivator." Vishnu directly asked. He didn't want to sound creepy but he has no other choice. 'This old man will be the reason for my death one day.'

The girl looked at Vishnu stunned. She didn't understand where is this coming from. Her first thought was that this guy is probably trying to get into her skirt. But on second thought is there a need for him to do all this just to get her. She could tell that this young man is rich and could probably even buy her entirely.

"Please stop joking sir." She politely said. She didn't know what else to say.

"I'm not joking, I asked if you want to become a cultivator. Do you want power?"

Hearing that last line tears threatened to come out of the girl's eyes. 'power' was something she yearned for. When she thought about how her entire village was mascaraed and she was left behind because of her beauty and then sold here. She didn't know what to do with her life anymore. She was lucky that TATA Emporium are the one who bought her and not anyone else. They only sought her beauty for business but if it was anyone else. She didn't even want to imagine what could have happened to her. But she knew her future is to be in this place selling things until she don't have her beauty anymore and would probably be released then. But is that the kind of life she wants. Her thoughts reached here and she got her answer. She looked at Vishnu with conviction in her eyes.

'What is it. Why is she reacting like that' Vishnu didn't know her inner turmoil so he didn't understand the meaning behind her change in expression.

" I want power. I want to become a cultivator." She said. Her eyes held a firm conviction.

"Oh! That's good. Then inform your manager that you'll be quitting your job then come with me."
