Upon hearing Beckett's challenge, Basil Jaak didn't get angry. Instead, he felt a bit pleased because Beckett's taunt proved that he did not have the King card.
Just as Basil Jaak was about to agree to the bet, he suddenly sensed a fragrance and felt a gust of warm wind by his ear, sending a slight shiver through him. Then, a soft voice entered his ear.
"Basil, I think you shouldn't gamble. The stakes they're playing with are too big and won't be of any benefit to you," Jessica Flack whispered to him softly.
Jessica's advice was out of goodwill. Even though they were technically superior and subordinate, they shared a relationship that was better than typical employees. And after all, Basil had come with her. If he really lost everything, it would make her feel uneasy.
"Thank you for your warning, Mr. Flack. I'll keep that in mind." Basil turned to look at Jessica and showed a grateful smile, nodding in thanks.
