Despite the ebbing evening sun, the warmth still felt like a hot touch on the skin, leaving a thin layer of perspiration on Basil Jaak's forehead.
Fortunately, Basil Jaak was skilled in driving the car, maintaining a smooth high speed, slowly overtaking the cars on the crowded road.
Xenia Wendleton, sitting sideways on the backseat, entertained herself with the cool breeze brought about by the drive. She energetically kicked her shapely legs in the air, humming a soft tune, seemingly transported back to her school days.
"What does this Jerome do, exactly?" Basil Jaak suddenly asked.
"Huh?" Drawn back from her thoughts, Xenia Wendleton replied, "What did you just say? I didn't hear you clearly."
Basil Jaak asked coolly, "I'm asking you, what does Jerome do for a living? There seemed to be a dangerous aura around him."
"Really? I thought he was very cultured, I didn't perceive him as a dangerous person at all!" Xenia Wendleton said, puzzled.
