City Of The Damned

Looking at our young protagonist sleeping soundly on his bed inside a very small room that barely fits his bed and a set of drawers with a 6 inch bright red blade laying gently on it, his long brown hair softly covering his face, an eerie silence that seems to envelop the entire building is broken when john (our protagonist) jumps out of bed shouting

"Goddammit not again" he grabs his dagger of the drawers and jumps out of the window and runs down the street yelling at everybody who passes by, within the blink of an eye john raises his dagger and slices it along his throat, spurts of blood sprays on all of the people that have surrounded him, instead of the screams you'd typically hear from terrified strangers a long loud sigh is heard as if all the people nearby is in sync, an elderly man with a walking stick walks out from the crowd still sighing while looking at johns bloody body on the floor.

"john get up, how many times do we have to tell you, death isn't an escape here, go clean yourself up and we can talk to you instead of you doing the same stunt everyday, its gotten boring"

john opens his eyes and grunts as he gets up his throat healing up fast enough for the human eye to see he laughs softly and sighs

"i guess i dont have a choice anymore" he looks to the floor and smiles before punching down slowly, as soon as his fist touches the floor a small crater spamming around 1 meter in diameter and 2 meters deep, nobody in the crowd seems surprised they all just smile at him as if looking at a baby taking his first steps.

The elderly man pulls john to his feet and smiles as he begins to talk

"john you've been here for almost 2 months now, you can pick out pretty much anyone of the elders from the crowd here and they'll all be stronger than you'll ever imagine, now can we talk about whats going to happen from here on out?" the elderly man raises his eyebrows as he stares at john, john just looks down at the floor and nods a little, the crowd surrounding him smiles then begins leaving just leaving the elderly man and john alone in the middle of the once busy street.

"good john now let me explain, this is a city us people have begun calling the city of the damned, all of the residents here have committed huge sins in this life and we have all entered the city just like you, we all tried leaving but every-time we get even a mile out we pass out and wake up here, all the residents have never aged a day more than when we first stayed here and the youngest besides you is around 80 years old, all of the sinners range between mass murderers to arsonists of course everybody has changed there ways since before, i was one of the first people to get suck here i was around 90 years old running from some heavenly saint master because i destroyed his sect hahaha too bad that was around 200 years ago ,time sure does fly, but now john, tell me, you look to be around 17 so what sin did you commit that was bad enough for you to be stuck here? we've had people who have killed atleast 2000 people and still could leave, people who have burned down atleast a thousand buildings killing quite a few in the process yet could still leave, so how could you a young lad not even 18 get stuck in the city of the damned?"

john looked at the old man with eyebrows raised "i, i ive never hurt anybody before, ive had dreams where ive hurt people but ive never done it myself" he looked at the floor before kneeling down and putting his head into his knees, the old man looked down at john with a shocked expression, when you get to his strength you can tell when people are lying just by looking at their aura and john definitely wasnt lying, he seemed to come to a realisation and looked at john with pity before asking "john those dreams, did the person doing the killing look like you did he have a different name, did it feel really realistic?" the elderly man seemed excited while throwing out lots of different questions

john still with his head in his knees started crying before saying "they looked like me but didnt have my name people would scream constantly "sora why?" it was too realistic i would wake up in sweats i've gotten used to them now but" the elderly man cut him off

"to think i'd actually meet another reincarnater , john im genuinly shocked, usually crimes you commit in another life dont count towards this life, just what did you do that caused you to bring along those sins, what on earth did you do?"

"i i i dont know whats a reincarnater? i havent done anything"

"john a reincarnater is someone who still has memories of their past life, theyre rare but you can meet one at pretty much every S class settlement they get strong faster than the usual person but not a single one of them carry sins across from their past life, come with me we need to test your level of sins"

john was shocked and just remained silent as he followed behind the old man.

the old man stopped at a small building with a broken sign out from and slowly walked in while sighing, a short old bearded man who looked like a dwarf smiles at them as they entered and laughed

"haha what are you here for kale?" the small dwarf looked at the old man while still laughing, then he abruptly stopped as he looked towards john "hmm, john was it? i guess kales brought you to check your level of crimes, glad you finally came around cant say im not curious as to what sins you coulda commited at such a young age"

"hey khor just let him check his crime level so we can leave quickly, i'll let you explain the levels to him"

"haha okay, so basically the darker the colour the higher the level of sins, so the highest we have so far is kale over there at a pretty dark purple, the lowest we have is someone called yard who stays in their room everyday and their colour is a light red, so far the colours we know are light red light blue dark red dark blue dark purple, just put your hand on that stone and we'll see"

john looked at the see through stone that seemed to shine golden and sighed while putting his hand on it, instantly as his hand touch the ball turned black, so black as if youre looking into the void, black smoke started bellowing out of the ball leaving the entire room as if youre trapped in the void, a suffocating aura came from the ball as a distant eerie chuckle seemed to come from it, john pulled his hand away staring with shock as khol and kale stared at him with their eyes widend sweat dripping from their foreheads as the aura obviously affected them aswell.

kale let out a nervous chuckle and tried to lighten the mood "haha guess im not the one who commited the most sins anymore aha"
