15 Chapter 15: Commitment

"Hey, you lost the first extra classes.", Ellen said to Peter as they encountered on the cafeteria.

"That's right.", he totally forgot. "By the way, where is Cecilia?"

"Oh, she was called by a senior to have a date.", she said while being a little sad.

"I'd never thought of this."

"At least someone called her.", she said directly to Peter.

"I get it but you'll have to wait."

"What do you mean? The bet with Kloutz?"

"That's part of it. I'm moving out of the dorm if I win."

"Why?", she thought a little. "Why?", she knew why.

"I need it and I would in two months anyway."

"How much is the rent?"

"A thousand."

"Okay.", she clicked on her watch and his beeped.

"Five hundred credits?"

"I'm going with you.", she stood up. "Pass me the address.", and left.

"You're popular with girls, boy?"

"No that I know."

"Young master is too slow."

"Yeah.", Fridda agreed with Emma.

"Who stayed on the room?"

"Everyone.", the fox answered. "Except me and the chick."

"Luke is a bird.", the little one said lefting his head out of the pocket.

"It's alright for both of us fight, young master?"

"Emma. I'd been useless on the battlefield and I wish to see you two on action."

"I don't like to mess with youngsters, boy."

"Neither do I but he insist to disturb me."

"I'll take care of the dragon, Maeve."

"But I wanted to do it. Tell her, boy."

Both of them were far below the power of Rhynus or of any dragon but as they show this confidence is evident that any of them would win through strategy alone. But that was not the question. Wolves familiars were know for their bite strength and some of them won the Dragon Slayer title.

"Let Emma do this one, Maeve."

"He is too immature for his age, young master."

"Hey, hey, hey. I wish you take that back."

"Why don't you see how is faster in taking down its target?", the boy proposed.

"Want to change now?", the black wolf said to the lightning.

"No need I'm faster than you.", she replied.

"So that's on, boy."

A boy moved close to their table.

"I heard you are going to use a replacement.", it was Kloutz.

"Yeah. Burnt circuits are a valid excuse. That's crazy, isn't it?", Peter replied.

"Whatever. You gonna lose anyway. Even if you use the Guard Beetle again."

"I didn't like what he said.", Maeve stated.

"There isn't class on his words.", Emma was angry as well.

"That fight took a while. I want this to be faster.", Peter replied to his opponent.

"It will be if you use any of those dogs."

They were sitting but at those words they stood on four paws. Maeve was black with blue eyes his stared was like the night itself. Emma wasn't as obscure as him. She had yellow fur with blue and white on lightning patterns.

"Are they gonna attack me now?", Kloutz didn't know the risk on his words.

"Now I want to change targets.", Emma said.

"But I don't.", Maeve replied.

"No, they won't. At least not now.", their master said. "Take your leave now. I'm worried that you encourage them more than this."

"Don't...", he was stopped by Peter's hand.

"I would like you to be safe for now.", he explained. "Both of you chill down.", they lied on the floor. "Take your leave, please, senior."

"We wouldn't attack him.", Maeve said.

"Biting is considered an attack.", Peter returned.

"We know, young master."

A flying creature broke the window and walked toward Peter. All three familiars were on position to attack it..

"What is happening?", Felix said.

"Why didn't you use the door?", the boy responded. "He isn't a threat. Just an ally... a very emotional ally."

"Ellen entered the room and started packing while saying that we would move in with you."

"She is the one that pushed that on me. I was moving alone."

"Why you told her then?"

"She would know sooner or later."

"Later she wouldn't move in with you.", the dragon had a point.

"Look. I didn't know she would take such actions. I surely didn't know, okay?"

"Okay.", the dragon started to walk to one way to another in loop.

"Is he good in the head, boy?"

"He cares about fighting and his owner out of this is a trouble.", Peter responded.

"Calm down, youngster.", Emma talked to the dragon. "There will be enough space for we all and will be a lot more empty too."

"And you can train with us in a daily basis too.", Maeve tried to help.

"Okay.", the dragon stopped. "But and he?", a finger was on Peter's direction.

"I'll stay on my room and Ellen on her's.", the boy answered.

"Okay."

"Now, go help her on the packing.", Peter said and the dragon left from where it came. The window. "Maeve, I need information about bets on the battle."

"Leave it to me.", the wolf dived on his on shadow and vanished.

"Now. Lets make some money.", the boy said.

The lunch time passed and both parties were on the arena. Kloutz had the obvious advantage on this battle if Peter was on the field but that wasn't the case anymore. Even without the boy on the field his familiars weren't the best option to bet. The odds were three to one in them while two to one to Kloutz. Good for making money.

"How was it?", the boy asked Maeve.

"She putted all your money on us.", the wolf replied about Ellen.

"With the odds and the victory we'll be good for the time being."

"Almost eight thousand credits.", Fridda said.

"Climb up parties.", professor Steven was called for the match since it wasn't an official. "Ok.", he looked at the wolves and after on Kloutz mounted on his dragon. "Familiars. Wizards. Set. Ready. Go."

"He'll fly up without knowing.", Peter said and his opponent did it.

"Lightning Chain.", bolts came from Emma's fur and locked the dragon while discharging eletricity on him.

"You only make my work easy.", Maeve dived on his shadow and as a shark jumped on the air looking for the wizard.

"Not if I take both together.", Emma enhanced her lightning damage to knock both together.

"Solo player?", the shadow wolf found his target and with its body did another dive followed by a jump. "I'm taking mine.", shadows started to leave his body and a giant mouth was created around the dragon and its master. "And maybe yours."

"Not if you are this slow."

A great explosion happened when both used their powers. The shadow bite with the over discharged made the adversaries lose fastly than before.

"Winner is Peter represented by his familiars."

"If you could finish them so easily don't let me try.", the shadow wolf said it.

"I wanted to see how you fight."

"I was an assassin not a frontline fighter."

"Don't worry I'll train all of us to be good anywhere.", Peter said to them.

"Peter. THAT'S A LOT OF CREDITS.", Ellen approached him. "Here.," he passed her five hundred to her. "I don't need your help on the rent.", he smiled.

"Are you sure?", she asked.

"If you knew what I'll do with the place you'd think again before packing.", he replied.

"Are you buying more familiars with this money?", she thought.

"No. This is for the reform on the apartment.", he looked at the money and returned to her. "Lets go. I want to wake up there tomorrow."

"Hey.", she stopped.

"What?", he looked at her.

"Is this serious or you just letting this go with a blind eye?"

"I...", he looked to the ground and then walked to her. He smiled and grabbed her hands. "I don't know how I feel about you yet and I think the same goes to you. We met about a week. There's tons of things that I don't know about you and you about me. So lets not overthink it now and let it roll for a while and discover ourselves at our own time. I'd ever see you as my friend no matter what happen I swear."

"Okay. I feel the same way but to me looks like I'm second."

"You're not second. Be sure of it. It's just that I'm slow on this."

"I'm seeing that."

"So don't rush and don't give up. I know it is very selfish from me but I really want you close."

"Why don't you show this then?"

"I'm really bad with words."

"I never asked for words."

He pulled her for a hug and lift her while spinning. As he stopped and their eyes met he was in trance. A second took its time to pass and an eternity flown through them. And they kissed.
