Unexpected Visitors

As I listened to the fireworks go off outside my home, I was thinking about which upgrades to buy for my current home. I had gained 93,850c from the recent task's and with my previous coins added to that balance, I had a little over 100,000c now.

Looking at the houses system shop I purchased the transporter Beaming Technology Room for 50,000. I wanted to buy a training room, but didn't know which to buy. The one labeled 'training room' or should I buy a holodeck that can act as a training room among many other things? After thinking about it a bit I went ahead and bought a holodeck room.

My thinking process was that even though the training room was probably tailored to me for my training purposes, the holodeck could be good for more than just training. I could use it for many forms of entertainment including VR games, tv and movies of this world, if I needed to relieve myself of my male needs, have a drink at a bar, and many other types of entertainment.

I was personally more interested in it for combat simulations, use it to recreate a crime scene, or just to practice script readings and singing performances.

Both purchases were separate rooms that were added onto the house and I didn't have to place them in a current room. After buying them they just appeared within the house in their own space. Looking at the rooms I noticed they were bigger than the living room, no even bigger than the house itself. I ran outside and glanced at the house to find that the inside of my house was now bigger than the outside of my house. I was just casually breaking some scientific laws.

Walking into the transporter room I was able to understand how it worked. I could store up to 5 places in it and I could use it to beam myself to those places instantly as long as I have been there before. The potential for this tech is great.

I saw no reason to store Gotham or Metropolis in the system because I could fly to those places very quickly. I decided to save 4 slots for planets I may visit in the future and maybe 1 slot for the upcoming watchtower.

After getting an idea of how that worked, I made my way to the holodeck.

As I approached the mechanical doors, they opened on their own with a 'pshhh" sound. The inside of the holodeck was huge, a lot bigger than the holodecks in my memory. Not that it matters considering how it works, but I was still a bit shocked.

Entering the holodeck, the basic understanding of this technology was instantly understood by me just like the transporter room.

"Computer, I would like to fight a Batman that kills in Gotham City",

I decided I wouldn't use any powers as I fought him. I wanted to learn his martial arts. One of the things I always thought when seeing Superman, was that it was such a waste. Imagine a superman with Batman's martial arts. Fights with characters that were as strong if not stronger than him would have not been as much of an effort, yet he never trained to be better. He relied too much on his powers.

As soon as I had prompted the computer, the scenery around me changed to that of Gotham. I didn't see Batman anywhere near me so I decided to go look for him. As soon as I had the thought, the computer informed me that I had died. I never saw the attack, heck, I never even saw Batman.

I ran the simulation a number of times to have similar results, so I changed the target to Robin.

It sadly wasn't much different aside from the fact I could actually see the bright colored Robin attacking.

I kept lowering the bar for myself over and over until I was fighting a League of Assassins fresh recruit. I could keep up with him to an extent, but it was still hard. I continued to train with him for now. I'll have to work my way up the ladder until I am able to spar with batman and eventually defeat him.

I will spend at least six hours a day training from now on, unless I have something more urgent to do. Within that six hours of training, I will spend 1 hour in aviation training, 2 hours training in stealth/martial arts/acrobatics, 1 hour in medicine/surgery, 1 hour in computer operation/hacking and ill spend the last hour learning lockpicking and thievery. I may study and train other things in the future, but this is more than enough for now.

I spent two hours of training in pure frustration. Although I could keep up with the league of assassin fresh recruit, I couldn't defeat him even once in a legit hand to hand fight without powers.

It was pathetic, but it was also where I obviously lacked the most currently.

I noted that the pain and damage the replicators inflicted upon me did not make me stronger like a real fight, but aside from dying inside the holodeck, everything else felt very real. I guess it's considered as self inflicted since I commanded the machine to attack me and the system is a part of me.

The replicator technology was also a huge part of the holodecks selling point. It could create very real food and drink that I could consume and make objects within the holodeck have substance and feel real.

After taking a quick shower, I put on my costume and went outside. I'll do my other 4 hours a bit later. I needed to protect the city since it's still night time and I haven't patrolled yet.

Going outside I saw the harvest moon still up in the sky and the ghost still roaming. Any other day the streets wouldn't be this full at night. I flew around the city and cleaned up crime here and there where I could. It was a lot less to worry about than usual, which was surprising because I thought there would be more crime if anything. Many people were upset their loved ones did not return like they did for others. I expected more to lash out, but apparently it had the opposite effect.

The thought of being a good person and coming back as a ghost from time to time later was appealing to many. Even though some of those people were angry, they held it in.

Still, it didn't work on everyone. Many still committed crime and were stopped by me tonight. After melting a drunk drivers car into a liquid gooey mess with my ki and punching him goodnight, I felt a ki presence I wasn't used to feeling in Moonlight City.

Batgirl and Robin were nearby, so I headed their way.

I felt a bit mischievous and decided to have a bit of fun with them, so I flew high above right where I felt their ki signatures and then dropped.

Right before I was about to hit them I stopped causing a small gust of wind to hit them from the pressure and spoke "What are you two doing here?"

Both of them looked like they had shat themselves as they were in fighting poses, Robin even had a batarang at the ready. I would have laughed if I didn't care about appearances.

"Ahhh, what the heck man, you scared the crap out of me, why is your voice like that? It's bad enough that this city has frickin' ghost roaming around." Robin said as he composed himself and put away his batarang.

I stood quietly waiting for his response to my question he never answered.

Noticing I wasn't talking, he spoke again "Wait a second, didn't batman say this moon guy wore a top hat and tuxedo? Who are you?"

"Change of costume" I said as I pointed to the moon on my chest.

"What did you and Batman find in the military facility?" Batgirl asked, rolling her eyes at Robin.

I floated down to the ground and stood beside them before answering. "We found a Martian named John. Again, what are you two doing here?"

Batgirl and Robin both looked at each other and nodded, before batgirl replied. "We are here to tell you that batman is wanting to visit and talk with you at 8pm tomorrow near Ace Chemicals in Gotham City, if that time is good for you of course. He said it's about protecting earth from potential future threats."

I nodded. "Yes, that time is good for me. was there anything else?"

Batgirl shook her head. "No, that's all. we will be on our way now"

Right after stating her intentions to leave, her and Robin both made their way out of the City. Along the way, Robin got creeped out every time they passed a ghost.

Upon seeing Robin constantly shaken up, I let out a loud laugh I was holding in. With the voice changer magic in place, the laugh sounded extremely creepy and manic. I laughed louder than intended and saw Robin stumble in the distance in response to it, which made me laugh even harder.

As they were at the edge of the city about to exit Batgirl and Robin both looked at each other.

"I'm never going in that city again!" Said batgirl

"Am I the only one that heard that horrid laugh? what the heck was that? I'm going to have nightmares for weeks." Robin said as he shivered while holding himself.
