Meliora was not the only one shocked to find that the first competition for the concubine selection would be a battle of conversations.
It was no wonder the girls left for the competition were reduced to thirty ladies. Those who didn't know and the ones whose parents were confident in their child were still present.
'Yet you didn't tell me anything!' Meliora growled internally, glaring at her watch hidden inside the sleeves of her dress.
The people around kept their eyes on her while they whispered, and Lucie stood behind her with a blank face. Unlike the other maids gossiping with their masters, Lucie was never like that.
She preferred to stand obediently behind her master and wait for orders as if she were a soldier on the battlefield. That was the only thing Meliora liked about Lucie.
