"It's Ellie, sorry did I wake you up?"

Lucille looked at the phone and saw Ellie's name, she looked at the time.. 2AM. "Yeah.. is everything alright?"

"Um, yeah, I was just calling about our history project."

"At two in the morning? we have to be up in a few hours."

"Well, I couldn't sleep." Ellie argued.

"And you thought I'd be awake at this time?" Usually she would be.. "-Wait are you watching a movie? No wonder you can't sleep."

"Watching my childhood movies makes me fall asleep quicker. And aren't you usually still out partying at this time?" .. ... "I just wanted to ask if you'd thought about which civilisation we should pick?"

"No, I haven't.. you pick."

"..Lucille?"

"Yes Elizabeth?" Lucille sighed.

"Can we start over?"

"Fine.. now go to sleep." Lucille hung up before Ellie could reply.

The rest of the school week Lucille pretty much stuck to herself. She completed all her work and made no effort to stand out. Preston met her at her locker to ask if she'd thought about the choir.. she said she'd thought about it but hadn't decided. Throughout the week Brienne had texted Lu a couple of times to see if she wants to go out, Lucille politely declined every one. She'd spend a couple of minutes each lunchtime to sit with Phoebe and Ellie.. Nicole decided to leave the boys table and come over to invite them all to her party Friday night. After Nicole left, the girls talked about it. "Are you planning on going Lu?" Phoebe asked.

"Probably not." Lucille shrugged as she bit the end off a fry. "-Are you?"

"Yeah we usually all go together."

And so Friday finally came.. Half way through the school day the whole year had an assembly, notifying them of a camping trip starting next weekend. They were all handed leaflets stating the essentials they should bring along.

After school Phoebe was getting ready in her room on video call with Ellie. Lucille sat on her bed reading.. 'Knock' 'knock' .. "Come in." Lucille called.

Phoebe opened the door and stepped inside. "Are you sure you don't want to come?"

"Yeah, you go have fun Pheebs." Lucille smiled.

"Okay then.. well if you change your mind call me."

"I will." Lu nodded. After that Phoebe left and got a taxi to Nicole's.

Half an hour later Lucille got a text from Bree.. 'Hey.. just wondering if your up for a night out?'

'Wasn't planning on moving from my bed actually.'

'Well too late, I'm outside your house.'

Lucille looked out her window and didn't see anything.. all of a sudden Brienne was infront of her hanging off the ledge. "What are you doing here? How do you even know where I live?"

"I googled you." Brienne answered simply.. "-Now let's go before someone steels my bike."

"I'm not dressed for going out." Lucille argued.

"Lu you look fine come on."

"Ugh.. move then."

Brienne dissapeared as quick as she had arrived. Lucille grabbed her phone, coat and sunglasses then jumped out of the window. She ran across the lawn in a blur and hopped the fence.. Brienne was sat waiting across the street on her motorbike. Lucille walked to her and sat on the back, Bree passed over a black helmet and Lu put it on. They quickly sped off towards Briennes house. They parked in the garage and hopped off. "I thought we were going out?"

"We are.. we're getting a taxi.. I just knew you wouldn't come unless I went to collect you myself.." Brienne smiled playfully as she kicked her bike stand out.

"You've got me there.. so what are we waiting for now?"

"Mike and Anita."

"Anita?"

"Don't worry she's all good.. I've known her a long time."

"How long is a long time?" Lu asked..

"Thirty years give or take a few."

Lu raised her eyebrows.. "That is a long time."

"Yeah well, compare it with a hundred and fifty and it really doesn't feel it."

"Damn.. I don't even want to think about being alive that long."

"You get used to it.." Brienne offered simply.

Soon after, Mike and Anita showed up. A young beautiful dark skinned woman walked in, her hair full and natural.. a tight black dress down to her knees with a short slit up the side. "You must be Lucille?.. I've heard so much about you.." Anita air kissed each side of Lucille's head. She had a bright welcoming smile and cat eyes.

"Anita right?" Lucille asked casually.

"Who else would I be darling? Wow your hair is beautiful." She twirled the end of Lucille's long hair around her finger. "..And you have a pretty face."

"Alright Anita stop flirting." Brienne chuckled and pulled her phone to call a taxi.

"You know me.. I never stop." Anita looked back to Lucille and winked.

"How's school been going Lu?" Mike asked.

"Somehow not as bad as I thought it would be.. what about you?"

"I got team captain of the football team." He grinned.

"Yeah because you have a 'slight' advantage." Bree added.

"Whatever at least I'm winning." Mike chuckled.

The group soon piled into the cab and headed for the destination.. a nightclub in the middle of town. They stayed for an hour or so, drinking and dancing.. Anita approached Lucille, "Hey I think I've got one.. want a team up?" She spoke into Lu's ear over the music.

"How do you know?" Lucille was sceptical. Anita held Lu's chin and turned her to face the bar.. A scuffy looking man in his mid-thirties dropping something into a drink.. he turned and handed it to the girl behind him. Anita took Lucille's hand and walked over.. clumsily knocking into the girl, spilling the cocktail down the front of her dress.

"Woah my bad.." Anita leaned over the bar and grabbed a napkin.. she handed it to the girl who just huffed and walk off to the toilets to clean up. Anita looked into the mans eyes.."-Come with me." Anita's voice was smooth and alluring. She grabbed Lucille's hand again and pulled her along. They made it outside and down the alley.. Anita turned and grabbed the man, pinning him to the wall by the scruff of his shirt. With her other hand she turned his head to the side exposing his neck.

"Wait.. are you going to bite him?" Lucille put her hand around Anita's wrist.

Luckily Anita stopped to answer.. "He's human waste.. just one less peice of garbage in the world."

Lucille looked shocked.. "We don't kill people."

"Anita.. she's right.. let's not fuck up a good night with a murder investigation." Bree spoke from behind them.

"Fine.. no teeth." She smiled again and used a talon to slice a three centimetre gash in his shoulder, feeding on him straight after. "Anyone else?" She asked wiping blood from the corner of her mouth.

Lucille didn't answer.. she hasn't fed since last week. She grabbed the man and drank what she needed. When she was done he dropped to the floor, his weak legs had buckled. She grabbed his face and turned him towards her.. "You got black out drunk and fell asleep in an alley.. and you can no longer get your cock up for uncontious women." The man slurred back what Lucille had said.

As they walked out of the alley Anita patted Lucille on the back. "Nice twist kid.. now let's go see if we can spy ourselves another meal." The three girls walked back inside and soon enough Bree was walking into the toilets with an older woman and came out alone.

"Everything alright?" Lu asked..

"Yeah, she'll be out in a minute. Hey I got a text from Mike.. he said he left to meet a friend at another party.."

Anita appeared between them.. "A party? Sounds fun.. shall we find one more and then go?.."

"Lu?" Bree asked.

"Might aswell.." Lucille shrugged.

Not long after the three girls were pulling up in a taxi to a huge house, smaller than Lucilles but quite alot bigger than Bree's. As they walked inside Lucille started to recognise people from her school, then she locked eyes with Nicole.. "Hey girls, oh you brought someone new?" She asked looking at Anita.

"I'm Anita.. Lovely house you've got.." She grinned.

Nicole nodded with a fake smile.. "Thank you."

"Thanks for the invitation." Lucille spoke and Nicole clearly wasn't expecting it.

"Right, yeah, you're welcome." She hadn't actually expected Lucille to show up, she wasn't too happy that she did either.

"Is Phoebe still here?" Lu asked.

"Yeah she's somewhere in the kitchen I think."

"Thanks, I'm going to go make sure she's alright." Lucille escaped quickly.. finding Phoebe sucking face with a boy in the corner of the kitchen. "Achem" She coughed.

Phoebe opened her eyes and stopped the kiss. "Oh Lucille, I thought you wasn't coming?"

"I'm glad I did.." Lucille laughed.

"I'll talk to you later." Phoebe spoke to the guy and then walked over to Lucille pulling her out of the kitchen.

"So was that your boyfriend or something?"

"No he's not my boyfriend.. we just.. kiss, and stuff."

"Yeah you can stop at 'and stuff'."

"Why are you here?" Phoebe asked.

"I just came with a couple of friends.. I didn't know we were coming here or I would have called you."

"So you just let them take you to random parties?" Phoebe asked as they stopped at the drinks table.

"Hey Lucille, I thought you weren't coming?" Ellie asked from next to Phoebe where she started pouring her own drink.

"Yeah uh-"

"Neither did she.. she just goes wherever her new friends take her."

"Lucille that's not safe." Ellie added with a concerned look on her face.

"Hey Lucille there you are.." Anita squeezed inbetween Phoebe and Lu with an arm around Lucille's.

"Anita, this is my sister Phoebe, and her friend Elizabeth."

"Both beautiful names for beautiful girls.." Anita smiled..

"Actually I prefer Ellie.."

"Each to their own." Anita smiled not bothered at all.. "-Bree is asking for you darling.."

"See you later.." Lucille made a small wave to Phoebe and Ellie then walked off with Anita, being led away hand in hand.

"What does she want me for?"

"I'll let her fill you in.."

Anita led Lu out into the back garden where Bree was waiting, sipping on a can of beer. "Are you alright?" Lucille asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine.. I was wondering if you'd do me a favour?"

"What is it?"

"It's Theo, she won't let me go."

"You knew this could happen Bree."

"Alright Anita, give it a rest will you?"

"I don't know what's going on here." Lucille looked back and forth between the girls, waiting for an explanation.

"I forgot you were a newborn.." Anita chuckled.. "-Bree decided it would be a good idea to keep feeding from the same human.. Our venom. With small amounts over a prolonged period of time.. it binds humans to us.. emotionally. That poor girl basically doesn't want to live without our friend here."

"What has any of this got to do with me?"

"I need you to feed from her.." Brienne looked saddened for the first time since Lu's known her.

"What? No, what will that do?" Lucille asked.

"Your venom would counteract mine.. She'd be able move on."

"What if she still doesn't want to and all of this is for nothing?"

"If you don't she won't even have a chance." Bree spoke again. "-Please Lu."

"I don't have to bite her do I?" Lucille asked.

"No, biting only leads to more of us or death.. When we bite and taste blood our fangs shoot venom into the human no matter what.. Only a tiny amount of your saliva has to enter Theo's bloodstream. Just do what we usually do." Brienne spoke.

"So why can't you do it?" Lu looked to Anita.

She took her que to talk, "Oh I don't want to.. besides Bree is a distant neice it might not even work."

"She is?"

"Yeah.. that's actually how we found each other. Well I found you." Anita smiled to Brienne.

"Yeah that was a fun day.. anyway back to the plan." Bree spoke.

"You have a plan?" Lu asked.

"Yes.. get her upstairs into one of the bedrooms and do it there."

"Or a bathroom, bathroom will have a lock on the door." Anita added.

"Fine, but after this you owe me."

"Yeah sure, whatever you want." Bree smiled, Lu could still sense a sadness in it.

Lucille walked back into the house and searched for Dorathea. Eventually finding her fixing herself a drink.. "Hey.." Lu spoke as she stood next to her, making her own drink.

"Hey.. where did Bree go?" Theo asked nonchalantly.

"Oh, I'm not sure.. what are you drinking?"

"Don't know, don't really care." Dorathea shrugged as she turned back to watch the people dancing in the other room. "-I don't even know why I came here."

"Maybe you just needed some company?" Lucille nudged Theo's arm with her elbow.

"Yeah maybe.." Dorathea chuckled a little and looked to Lucille.

"Follow me." Lucilles eyes lit up for a second as she spoke.

"I'll follow you." Dorathea repeated.. Lucille took her hand and walked upstairs with her, gaining many looks, including ones from Phoebe, and also Ellie who had been downing drinks since Anita had whisked Lu outside.

"One minute I think I know her, and the next." Phoebe pointed her hand towards the stairs.. "-and I thought I was bad." She shook her head and drank another mouthful of her drink. Ellie downed her whole cup.

Sam showed up behind her with a hand on her hip. "Hey babe, do you want another drink?"

"Find me later." Phoebe smiled and left the two to talk.

"Yeah sure." Ellie turned around to face him. For reasons unknown she leaned forward and kissed him.. he kissed her back. One thing led to another and before long they were upstairs in one of the bedrooms.. the whole way Ellie kept asking herself in her mind 'Why am I doing this?' .. 'I should stop.'

Sam pulled his own top off and then Ellie's before sitting her down on the bed.. He began unbuckling his trousers while kissing her again. "I've waited so long for this." He kissed at her neck.

As he began to pull Ellie's knickers down she stopped him.. "Wait.. stop.. I can't." She squeezed her eyes closed embarrassed.

"It's alright baby, I know you're worried but it will only hurt for a second." He comforted and tried to kiss her again..

She kissed him back once.. "I'm sorry, I just don't want to."

Sam stood up straight in a huff.. Stuffing his bulge back into his trousers. He picked up his top.. "You're a fucking cock tease." And stormed out, leaving Ellie in tears still sat on the edge of the bed.

He slammed the door just as Lu left the bathroom.. Lucille quickly made her way to the door and opened it after hearing sniffles from inside. She saw Ellie in tears. "Elizabeth?"

"Please go away Lu.."

Lucille rushed to Ellie checking her over, in a panic her eyes glinting hints of purple. "Did he hurt you?.. I'll kill him." Lucille stood up to leave but Ellie grabbed her wrist to stop her..

"No.. he didn't hurt me." Ellie sniffed again and Lu bent back down resting her hands on Ellie's knees.

"I don't understand." Lucille spoke in a gentle tone.

Ellie finally looked to her with watery eyes.. "I don't want to talk about it."

Lucille grabbed Ellie's free hand and held that on her knee aswell. "It's alright.. as long as you're alright."

"I'm fine Lucille, really I am." Ellie made a small tired smile to validate her words.

Lucille took her hands back and sat on the bed beside Ellie.. she leaned forward and picked up the girls top from the floor and passed it to her. Ellie awkwardly took her top back and put it on. "I think we should get you home."

Ellie nodded.. "Do you think Sam's still here?"

"He's probably downstairs somwhere.. do you want me to check?" Lu asked and Ellie shook her head no. "-Alright.. let's go." Lucille got up, offering Ellie her hand. As they got to the top of the stairs Ellie walked into Lucille nearly knocking her down them. "For heavens sake." Lucille sighed and swept Ellie off her feet.. Ellie made a short squeel before being carried down the stairs like a baby.

"You didn't have to do that." She looked around making sure no one was paying attention.

"You've made me fall on my arse once already.. I don't plan on making it a habit. Especially not down those stairs." Lucille pointed back to the metal plated stair covers.

"Guys I thought I'd lost you." Phoebe barrelled into them both with an arm around each of their shoulders. "-Holy shit Ellie.. I need to tell you about Sam."

"I don't want to hear it if that's alright Phoebe." Ellie replied, drunk and swaying but somehow her words were still coming out perfectly.

"Okay alright.. What about you Lu? I saw you sneak away with Dorathea." Phoebe smiled mischievously..

"Fun times.. Anyway I'm going to get Ellie home, I'll be back soon alright?"

"Home? Why?" Phoebe looked to Ellie.

"I'm just.. really tired."

"Do you want me to go with you?" Phoebe asked, genuinly concerned for her friend.

"No it's alright.. you already promised Nicole you'd stay." Ellie made a small smile.

"Alright.. text me when you're home." Phoebe pointed. Ellie nodded and Phoebe wandered back off into the crowd as Lu dialed the number for the taxi.. she took Ellie's hand again and led her outside.

After Lu hung up the phone Ellie spoke. "You can stay here you know.. I'll be alright in the taxi."

Lucille shook her head. "I'd sooner walk you home than leave you in a taxi."

"What about Dorathea?"

Lucille looked to Ellie with furrowed eyebrows.. "What about her?"

"No, nothing.. she's a great girl."

"Right." Lucille answered a little confused.

"I think, she'd make a great catch."

"Mhm." Lucille wasn't interested in talking about Dorathea and it clearly showed.

The taxi pulled up and Lu helped Ellie inside.. Then she remembered that she was leaving her friends at this party. She called Bree. "Hey, sorry I forgot to say, I left the party already."

"Why? Are you coming back?" Bree asked.

"I think so.. I'm just taking my sisters friend home."

"Oh, and thank you for helping me with Theo, it's like I don't exist anymore."

"That's a good thing right?"

"Yeah, it is." Breinne finally sounded sure.

"Good, now find yourself someone else to play with."

"I will.. see ya Lu."

"See you." Lucille felt something heavy on her shoulder and looked down to find Ellie asleep.. Seems she's had a rough night. Lucille swept Ellie's hair from her face and left her there until the taxi stopped. "Thank you." She paid cash and got out of the car, the sound of the door closing woke Ellie up, she began to panic for a second before her passenger door opened and Lucille was standing there. Without a word Lu undid her seat belt and offered her a hand out of the car. Ellie took Lu's hand and stumbled out.

"We're here already?"

"Ellie how much did you drink?"

"I don't know." Ellie sighed.

"Are your parents home?"

"No.. they're never home."

"Alright come on then.. where is your key?"

"In my bag.."

Lucille looked over Ellie.. "Where is your bag?"

Ellie glanced down to her hands and back to Lucille. "I don't know. I think I put it in Nicole's bedroom?"

"Alright.. stay here." Lucille jumped the fence and went around the back of the house.. She saw an open window and quickly climed the ledge. Entering through Connors sweaty smelling bedroom. A few seconds after that she was unlocking the front door.

"What did you do?" Ellie asked confused.

"Back door was unlocked." Lu answered. "-Are you coming?" Ellie nodded and wobbled into the house past Lucille. "-Does anyone live here besides your brother and your parents?"

"No it's just us." Ellie answered simply as she slumped on the couch in the living room.. she pulled out the TV remote from a crevice in the couch. "-Thank you for getting me home Lucille."

"What are you doing?" Lu asked as she watched Ellie pull the thick fluffy blanket that had been laid over the back of the sofa onto herself.

"It's cold.."

"Aren't you going to bed?"

"What's the point? No-one's here."

"Maybe you'll actually be able to sleep if you're in your own bed."

"No I won't.. I'll lay in silence for hours, contemplating my shitty life. I'm good thanks."

"I guess we have that in common." Lucille sat down leaving a seat between Ellie and herself.

"..Do you still want to get sent back to boarding school?"

"I thought I did.. everything seemed simpler there. But If I go back now I'll just end up disrupting Jens growth."

"What do you mean?"

"She's better off without me that's all."

"I'm sure that's not true.. .. But I can't lie I'm glad you're staying."

"We'll see." Lucille sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"When Chris comes back he'll try to tell me who to marry again.. and I'm going to tell him to shove it up his arse."

Ellie looked to Lucille, clearly concerned for her.. "You think that's a good idea?"

"I almost went along with it, for a little while to shut him up.. But I can't, I'm just not that person."

They sat in silence for a few moments.. "Do you want to watch a movie with me?"

"When will Connor be back?"

"I don't know.. probably sometime tomorrow when he sobers up."

"Alright.. let's watch a movie."
