BL- CHAPTER 1: Finding a Mate

"Bye mom, bye dad" Ash waved to his parents, today was the day he would find his mate.

He walked out of the house, shutting the front door behind him, and hopped into his friend, Alex's, car.

They drove away while Alex was talking on and on about how his mate will be the prettiest out of everyone else's but Ash blocked him out as he looked out of the window, watching the trees and children pass by. Ash leaned his head comfortably against the seatbelt, suddenly aware of how tired he was, that night he baddest slept well, he was too stressed about finding a mate to sleep. he slowly closed his eyes, the faint murder of his friend slowly fading to silence as darkness engulfed him.

"Ash," Alex said, shaking him. "Huh?" "you fell asleep," Alex growled, "were here." Ash slowly stepped out of the car, he fixed his tuxedo and pants for they had gotten a little wrinkled and messed up while he was asleep. To find your mate, they had a certain scent, a scent that leaves you're bones tingling, in a good way. He had never smelled the smell for he had been to young, he is now 16 which is the youngest a wolf-blood is able to find their mate. All those at that age and older are to go to the "kings" house, alpha of all alphas, where they have a party for those looking for a mate. "Were here.." Alex's voice trailed off as they approached the front door, "let's go."

As soon as they opened the doors, scents from different pack came wafting around them. "I wonder if we'll See anyone from our pack... what if we see an alpha?..." Alex almost choked on his words as he spoke, "all the females would go to the alphaaaaas," he whimpered. Ash glared at him, "stop whimpering, you're embarrassing pine wood pack." He imediatly stopped whimpering and straightened up as if nothing had happened. "ima go get a drink," Ash called over his shoulder to Alex who was barely paying attention.

Ash sat at a counter, about to scoop some punch into a red plastic cup when a scent strong and relishing engulfed him. he turned around expecting his female mate. Once he turned, he met a tall broad shouldered blue eyed male with black hair and tan skin in a white half buttoned shirt and dark blue jeans .... the kings son.

Ash and the kings son looked at each other in shock. "I.... I'm Ash.." Ash mumbled. " "Liam," he said taking a deep breath, "caramel." Ash looked at him in confusion, "what do you mean "caramel"?" "your scent... it smells like caramel..." he took another deep breath before burying his face into Ash's neck. Ash froze as he felt Liam wrap his arms around his waist with his face still pressed against him. "w.. what are you doing?!" Ash stuttered. Liams body suddenly got pulled away and cold air rushed in the spot where he was hugging. Ash looked up to see Alex snarling and holding Liam by the collar of his shirt. "I'm sorry but my friend came here to find his mate not to be harassed by a mangy flea bag!" Anger glared in his eyes as he spoke. "Alex... stop.." Ash mumbled, but Alex didn't hear him. Alex clenched his fist, bringing it back about to punch Liam. Liam stared calmly into his eyes. "Alex STOP!" Ash snarled. "h-huh?" Alex looked at him in confusion. As Ash didn't say anything, Liam spoke, "he is my mate," his deep voice echoing through the room, other wolf-bloods staring. All of a sudden Liam grabbed Ash's arm, pulling him away as he made his way to the front door. Ash was too lost in thought to process what was going on to realize he had abandoned his best friend.

They had come to a river, the full moon reflecting off of the glistening waves. Ash turned only to see Liam unbuttoning his shirt and setting it underneath a bush he did the same with his pants then looked at Ash, "well? aren't you going to undress?" Ash felt a shiver go down his spine, "w... what?!" Liam rolled his eyes, "I'm shifting," he said shaking his head. "oooooh," Ash felt a wave of relief wash over him. he heard the leaves rustling as Liam began to shift, his smooth midnight black pelt waving elegantly in the wind as his tall masculine body rose as a wolf. Ash did the same, his gray and white pelt shining against the moonlight. "your wolf is beautiful," Ash spoke. Liam nuzzled Ash's neck, "I know," he teased.

Liam turned to walk on the shore of the river, "you coming?" he called back to Ash.

- what am I doing?- Ash thought to himself -i don't even know him yet...-

As he watched Liam walk a few a few paces before turning and bolting through the trees, past Liams house, swerving through buildings and running straight toward his home.

After a while he finally made it to his house, "I forgot my clothes..." he murmured to himself. squeezing through the doorway he, as silently as he could, padded up the stairs to his room, he shifted back to a human, changed to his clothes and fell back onto his bed with a long sigh.

He opened his eyes from a needed sleep by a knock on his front door. he hear his mother shuffling over to the door. Ash got up, rubbing his eyes and making his way down the stairs. "Ash it's for you!" he mother called from the entrance way. He slowly walked over to the door, his vision still cloudy with sleep.

All signs of sleepiness disappearing as he looked at who was at the door... "Liam."
