As she walked away from Shiza and Markus, Amri tried calmly to assess the situation.
She knew what she wanted to do, but what would Shenmi have done?
If this vision was of Shenmi's life, then the only events Amri could see were ones where she followed what Shenmi did in the past. She'd walked for five minutes before she noticed the world-twitching. The woods reset themselves every time she continued past a certain point, but judging by what she saw when she turned around, Markus and Shiza were not resetting. They were talking, and Shiza noticed her gaze, frowning at her until she turned.
Testing the effect, Amri wondered why she did not simply advance to the next part of the vision. Even though the woods seemed to stretch on forever, every time she turned around, she could see Shiza in the distance, talking with Markus.
She tried taking a step back toward them, but the world twitched and she was back facing the other way.
