“Diego would kill me if he finds out you're still alive. I'm not El Tigre.” Her voice trembled as she spoke, her lashes fluttered….her cheeks flushed pink at the thought of what the El Tigre, Diego, would do if he found out that she didn't kill her target.
“You don't have to worry about anything. You're safe, Diego would never find out.”
“He would one day. He made me the mafia queen, I've failed them badly. He made me the leader because I'm the toughest, strongest, bravest and vilest among all of them. Not only that, but he put me in charge, left me on a mission and left for Vienna hoping I'd carry out the task. You should stay away from me, Xavier… I was meant to kill you, but I can't.” She said with a stern face.
He walked up to her and placed his hands on her face as he caressed her face, her eyes searching his soul. She quickly looked away, his eyes danced around, hoping she'd look back, but she didn't…she was avoiding his gaze.
“I'm giving you a new life. Leave and never come back!” She half yelled as her eyes stung..... She was already starting to fall for him, letting him go was so difficult, but she had to do it for their safety.
“Danica, look at me. Yes, you're brave, strong, vile, and tough, but that doesn't scare or bother me. I'm not leaving without you.” He said as he moved towards her, he was about to wrap his arm around her waist when she spun around immediately, wedging his hands.
“Don't! This isn't easy for me, but I've to do it. If you touch me, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to let go…"
He grabbed her waist all of a sudden.
“Then don't leave.” He kissed her passionately before she broke away.
“I've to go now, I see you wouldn't leave. I love you, Xavier.” She said as she backed away.
“Better keep your promise, please Ani, come to me when this is all over,” Xavier said as she flashed him a smile before walking away.
