Chapter 1Desperate Gamble

Apocalypse: The Crown Princess Survival Guide

October 13th, Year 4044 - Northwest Base, 11:40 PM

Even with her injuries, Yin Zhi stagger in the laboratory, determined to leave this hellish place.

Ignoring the pain in her body, she continues walking, as her once clean white hospital gown is full of holes and blood, both from her and her enemies.

Yin Zhi stops in her tracks as she looks back one last time. The once tall and clean laboratory building that stood for more than a decade is now reduced to ruins.

Sparks emerge from the destroyed machines as they turned into flames, casting flickering shadows over the carnage that she did.

On the grounds were dead bodies of the Researchers, guards, and the twisted grotesque forms of the corpses of the experimental subjects, their lifeless eyes staring at her, as she stumbled past them without feeling any remorse.

Yin Zhi have seen it all. The unspeakable horrors that the apocalypse brought. Not only does it turn humans into zombies, but it also shreds the facade of humans that has been maintaining all these years, as it reveals the darkest depths of human nature. and what remained in the world was not kindness or compassion, but a pervaded shadow of death filled with cruelty and betrayal.

Yin Zhi grimaced in pain as she stumbled towards the entrance while enduring the pain from her wounds that she got as she fought her way out of this hellish laboratory that locked her up.

After a few minutes, Yin Zhi finally reach an open ground as she raised her head as she looked at the sky. The sky that she hadn't seen for an entire year.

The only remaining sounds in the surroundings are the faint whistling sound of the wind and the sound of the burning buildings. Suddenly, her lips curled into a bitter smile as she laughed, her voice full of madness.

Even though she destroyed the laboratory and kill all those people who experimented her, Yin Zhi couldn't see any hope left as she could already feel the death's cold grip tightening on her.

"Ha, how pathetic I am." - She said sarcastically, as she noticed that her body wouldn't last much longer.

"After all the suffering I went through for the past fifteen years, I didn't expect that my life would end just like this." - The torment and pain she went through all this years are insignificant compared to the emptiness in her heart.

For fifteen years, during the zombie apocalypse, she did her responsibility as the crown princess of the Huxia country. She was always on the front line to gather materials, rescue survivors and hunt mutant animals, always racking her brain on how to solve the shortage of food in the imperial base.

She was always thinking about her citizens well being as it was her responsibility to lead them, yet she was betrayed by those people she'd risked her life to protect. It was not the undead that threatened her life, but instead, it was the people she protected and believed that had faith in her.

Seeing the full moon glowing in the sky, a buried piece of memory surfaced in her mind, Her cold expression turned complicated but thinking of all the things that she went through, Yin Zhi gritted her teeth in hatred as she said, "I don't want to accept this is how I am going to die."

Yin Zhi took a deep breath as her mind turn toward the only hope she had left. It's her last chance.

"Reversal of Time," She whispered.

An ancient magic spell, which is hidden in the underground palace of the royal family. This magic was recorded as both dangerous and powerful yet there is not a single record of its use in the past ten thousand years ever since the Yin royal family was established.

After seeing that spell in the past, Yin Zhi had memorized it just in case she needed it. Although she had never truly believed that she would be using it one day. Nor believe that there is magic to turn back time. But now, with nothing left to lose, it was the only chance she had.

"Since I am dying anyway, just might as well gamble this life of mine." - Yin Zhi's voice are tinged with bitterness.

The price of using this ancient spell is the life and soul of the user. And since she is dying already, she might as well try. If she can really turn back time, she is willing to pay any price, even if it means sacrificing everything.

With determination, Yin Zhi closed her eyes and recited the ancient spell she had memorized, calling upon the magic of Time.

Unrecognizable words left her lips, foreign and ancient. Only the members of the royal families who went down in the underground palace could say them.

Yin Zhi could feel the air around her hum in urgency, as the magic responded to her call bringing in intense energy that she never felt before. While The ground tremble and the wind swirled, tossing her hair and torn clothes wildly.

Yin Zhi could feel it, the intense energy gathering within her so she uttered the last two words of her final hope, "shíguāng dàoliú"

As soon as these two words left her lips, a massive golden magic circle appeared in the ground as she stood in the center of it.

Looking at the magic circle underneath her, and the smaller magic circles swirling around her with seven colors, Red, Blue, Pale Gray, Brown, Violet, White, and Black. Yin Zhi could feel the potent pure energy coming from all directions, and she knew that this kind of energy couldn't belong to this world.

Yin Zhi's body rose into the air, lifted by the energy swirling around her.

Above her, the sky began to ripple, and a swirling black vortex appeared in the night, expanding with alarming speed, as it swallowed the light of the full moon, casting the world into darkness. And it only stopped until it covered the entire sky of the northwest survivor base for tens of thousands of kilometers.

Streams of light each the color of the magic circles beneath her shot upward from the ground, piercing the black vortex in a dazzling display of color. The dark sky glowed with the brilliance of ancient magic, illuminating the sky of the entire northwest base into seven colors.

In the distance, the survivors at the base saw this scene as they trembled in fear, as they didn't know what was happening, but knew instinctively that death was near.

Yin Zhi felt the weight of the magic pulling at her as her vision became blurry as her fingers curled into fists as she made a twisted promise.

"If this magic really succeeds in bringing me back to the past, I will definitely exact my revenge! Every pain and suffering I went through, I will pay it back a hundredfold. I will make sure that every one of you will live a long agonizing life, where death is luxury and just being alive is a pure torment and pain." - Yin Zhi's eyes glinted with madness as she spoke, and the darkness in those beautiful purple eyes promised a fate worse than death for her enemies.

Yin Zhi's body started to crack, turning into countless light fragments as they flew upwards, spinning toward the swirling black vortex in the sky.

After swallowing the last light fragment of Yin Zhi, The black vortex pulsed as it released tens of thousands of black lights that instantly destroyed the northwest base that houses more than twelve million people and the black vortex pulsed one last time before closing the tear in the sky.

Defy The Alpha(s)

Two centuries after the Great War, peace between humans and werewolves was finally achieved, or so everyone believes. Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all.

His body tensed, and then he was on me, nose against my neck, inhaling deeply, one hand on the side of my hair, pinning me in place with his hips.
