The next day, Sebastian woke up to a large chasm where their floor used to be. Actually, there had been a chasm there well before he woke up that day, since the floorboards had collapsed to reveal the secret book earlier. 

The 'chasm' was simply bigger now, that's all. Big enough that Sebastian would have estimated it was the size of a king mattress. Right smack bang in the middle of their house too. Jylan was already standing over it in his pajamas with his hands on his hips. Sebastian, meanwhile, greeted the butler goodmorning and stood next to him. The strange depression was filled with murky black water. 

"It looks disgusting. Is this was commoners have to deal with everyday?" Sebastian said arrogantly, pinching his nose with his fingers. Jylan, ignoring him, hesitantly poked a finger into the water. Then he instantly took it back out. "It's freezing."

Then, a hand reached out and grabbed Jylan's wrist. 

Jylan screamed. Sebastian screamed. whatever was inside the water screamed as well, causing a volley of bubbles to rise. Then, a second hand reached out past Jylan's hand, to grab the floorboards of the house. Then a third hand appeared, aso grabbing onto the wood. Then a head popped out of the water - the buck toothed boy named Eris. 

"We've got some news!" He chirped. A second head poked out, also a familiar face that Sebastian had seen a day ago. Jylan was still screaming, since Eris had dark water streaming down his face and a weed on his head that made him look like a swamp monster. The fact that there were three arms didn't help either. Sebastian finally grabbed Jylan's shoulders and hauled him backwards, bringing both the butler and the two bribed young'uns sprawling onto the floor. 

"So. Explain." Sebastian said, still holding Jylan's shoulder. Eris scrambled back to the pool to grab his hat, which had floated to the surface, and put it on with a flourish. 

"There's a war coming."
