2 PROLOGUE

Toheebat, are you really getting married? The rumour is everywhere...' Amira said to her friend. She could see from her friend's facial expression that she was sad. But then, what could she do? Nothing! If she were to be in her shoes also, she wouldn't have been able to do anything.

" Yes I am. What can I do? Inasmuch as I do not want to get married, I have no other choice. My parents have taken care of everything. In about two days time, my husband would come and I would be gone after the whole ceremony.' Toheebat replied with bloodshot eyes. Tear after tear began to drop from her eyes. Amira could understand her pain. She moved closer to her friend and hugged her tight. Together, they began crying.

Why? Why did they have to love this way? Why couldn't they live the way their brothers did? Why? Why was life so cruel and unfair to them? Amira kept asking herself these questions while consoling her friend. She knew that soon, as in soon, as in real soon, her time would come. But she wasn't going to give in that easily. Never! She had a dream to fulfil.
