Chapter 8: Battle for Survival

Miku sharply inhales as she feels the pain coming from her arm and head." Fuuuuuck!" After Screeching out in pain, she hears a voice in her head chime out. " Injuries detected insufficient BM to start the healing process" ( FYI, decided to shorten Biomass XD)

The boar did not get off much better as the gash along its side is very deep, and as it gets to its feet, it quickly jumps 10 feet back as a giant paw slams down where it was standing. The massive bear Roars out at both of them as the lightning arcs across its body and explodes outwards.

Miku looks at the bear, helpless and whimpers." Well fuck I guess this is where I die again. There is no way I'll be able to outrun that monster, let alone take another hit." But just then, something odd happens. Miku notices the bear has stopped attacking and slowly starting to turn away.

Miku does not want to jinx anything and slowly starts to get up, but as she puts her arms under her to lift herself, a Shooting pain races up through her right arm. Miku realizes that the adrenalin kept her from feeling the pain, and now it was all coming back with a vengeance.

Miku eventually gets up and slowly starts to walk away when she hears a snort and hooves beat the ground. " You have got to be kidding me," Miku turns around to see the boar glaring at her, its side still heavily bleeding as in the distance, the bear kept moving away.

Miku slowly grits her teeth and starts to think of a plan." Well, I know my arm is shot, but it has only one eye and is bleeding heavily. I might just be able to beat it because I don't think it will let me go." Miku looks at her surroundings and thinks up a plan.

The boar starts its charge at Miku, its hooves crushing the twigs and sticks under it as it picks up speed. Miku sighs and gets ready for the charge and narrowly dodges it as the boar flies by, followed by the wind it created with its rush that kicked up the nearby leaves.

Miku winced at the pain in her arm as she dodged the boar but smiled as she was right where she wanted to be. Under Miku was the vine of the makeshift trap that the goblins created that stunned the boar earlier. Struggling slightly to lift the stump with one arm, Miku waits.

The boar slides to a stop and turns around, and snorts before continuing to rush after Miku, but as it gets closer, it suddenly notices something. The boar speeds up rapidly as it nears Miku causing Miku to miss the trap so that she can get out of the way in time.

Miku hisses as pain runs up her arm as she lands on it after dodging away." fuck that hurts. The boar must really hate me for something to be still wanting to kill me." Miku slowly gets up as the boar slides to a stop once again before turning around, which gives Miku an idea.

" Seems like it can't stop on a dime. I might be able to use that" Miku finds a nice boulder and stands in front of it but just slightly to the side so that as the boar charges, most of the stone will be in its blind spot.

The Boar huffs and falters slightly as the blood loss affects it, but it once again rushes full speed at Miku again, wary of traps as it goes but unable to see the rock behind her. Miku grins as she sees that the boar does not notice the boulder behind her and is ready to jump out of the way.

Like a rushing car, the boar appears in front of Miku, but before it can hit her, Miku dodges out of the way, this time trying not to land on her broken arm. The boar runs head first into the boulder making a sickening crunch and snapping off its last tusk and knocking it out cold.

Miku gets up quickly, rushing to the boar and in a swift move, plunges her tail deep into its final eye, trying to kill it. After a few seconds, her tail hits something hard, briefly shocking Miku.

"What a hard skull! but I guess that kind of makes sense as it constantly rams into things to kill them." Miku then looks around her after slumping to the ground; exhausted, Miku sees pools of blood and corpses everywhere.

Miku takes a moment to capture her breath before remembering a prompt she had heard earlier. "Oh yeah, when I got hit earlier, it said something about Biomass able to heal me." As she says that, Miku feels her gut rumbling and giggles.

"This body is very gluttonous yet able to keep this thin figure. I think I love this new body a bit more now, but I could do with cooked food." Miku makes her way over to the goblins that got cut in half by the lightning blades and subconsciously started to eat while thinking more.

"What was that anyway? I mean, I don't remember four-armed bears being a thing, let alone ones that could throw lightning." Miku just then bites into the burnt part surprisingly and spits it out with a look of disgust.

" I wanted cooked food, not burnt! blech, that was nasty." Miku continues to eat the goblin's, cutting off the burnt ends like a kid eating toast. Meanwhile, the prompts in her head kept ringing out *BM acquired*

After what felt like hours, the only thing left was Miku and the boar's corpse laying at her feet." well, I guess I should finish this buffet and head home." Just then, something dawned on Miku.

" Wait, didn't the boar's leather-like hide protect it from the goblin's weapons. Yeah, the only thing that managed to get through it was its own tusks and that monster bear's claws." Miku looks back at the boar's hide before thinking some more.

" Ideally, I would rather have a proper tanning company do this, but I do remember that some hunters usually use animal brains in warm water as well as smoking for tanning leather, but the downside will be that it will require lots of water and if I don't take my time it could become stiff but as something meant to protect me hmm?"
