Rebirth?

Life is unfair. How do I know that fact? Because I'm presently living through it. Or rather, I was living through it.

When I was little, I was dropped off at an orphanage by my mother. Yep, I was a baby back then—or so they told me. At least she had enough decency not to leave me in a garbage pile. I was grateful for that, at least. The orphanage wasn't bad, to say the least, but it didn't get enough funding to care for all the kids living there. The government sucks when it comes to taking care of us. That's one certainty I learned early on.

When I was five, I started school, and, of course, I got picked on. Not by everyone, but enough to leave a mark. The older kids at the orphanage sometimes helped me, though. Life wasn't all bad. It was around then that I discovered anime, games, and manga. They became my escape, my solace. But whenever I tried to talk about them at school, I was bullied even more. Stigma sucks. The scars and bruises on my body were evidence enough.

As I grew older, I learned to keep those things to myself. I didn't need to give anyone more reasons to target me. I still remember the day I discovered *Fate/Stay Night*. The visual novel, the anime—I consumed it all. My favorite character was Cu Chulainn. He was strong, fierce, and unyielding—everything I wanted to be. That led me down a rabbit hole of Celtic mythology, where I learned about Fionn mac Cumhaill. His story hit me hard. It was raw, tragic, and filled with the kind of pain I understood.

Eventually, I tracked down my mother. I needed to know why she abandoned me. Her words were like a knife to my gut: "You were going to be a waste of space in my life anyway." From that day on, I knew the world wasn't black and white. It was filled with shades of gray, and I was stuck somewhere in between.

So yeah, my life sucked. I worked a low-paying job, managed to scrape together enough to pay rent, and eventually left the orphanage behind. I got a small house, barely more than a shack, but it was mine. I thought things were finally looking up, but then came the car crash.

The last thing I expected was to die so pathetically.

**Where the fuck am I? I muttered to no one in particular. My voice echoed in the emptiness. I blinked, trying to make sense of the swirling void around me. Okay, what the hell is this?

A massive dragon appeared before me, its scales shimmering in an ethereal light. It looked down at me with ancient eyes. Huh, never thought another one would arrive so soon after that last guy who got reborn, it rumbled.

I stared at it, slack-jawed. Um... where the fuck am I?

The dragon sighed, as if explaining something obvious to a child. You're in the Land of Rebirth.

I crushed the rising panic within me. Okay, but shouldn't I be going to heaven or hell or something?

The dragon closed its eyes, almost as if it were pondering something. Heaven, it finally said. **You did enough good deeds. You had a very bad life, but you didn't let it consume you. So, you've earned a chance to be reborn. Do you accept my offer?

I looked at the dragon, and then I said what any sane person would in my situation. No. I'm just gonna go to heaven, thanks.

The dragon's eyes shot open, wide with shock. Excellent, wa—what? It stared at me as if I'd just grown a second head. Wait, this is a first...

The dragon seemed to be struggling to process what I'd just said. I could almost hear the gears turning in its ancient brain. It was oddly satisfying to see a mythical creature so confused.

Uh, yeah, you heard me. Heaven. Thanks for the offer, though.

The dragon blinked a few times, then let out a deep, rumbling chuckle. You're an interesting one, aren't you? Very well, if that's your choice, I'll honor it. But... It trailed off, a mischievous glint appearing in its eyes. You may find that even heaven isn't as straightforward as you think.

I just looked at the dragon. "Wait, what do you mean?"

The dragon looked back at me, seeming almost puzzled. "I'm not sure if I can send you out of this world. Hold on, let me get a friend."

The void around us began to change. Flames erupted from nowhere, encircling the space as a majestic Phoenix emerged from the fire.

The Phoenix glanced at the dragon. "Why did you call me, brother?"

The dragon sighed. "I need to check the rules of reincarnation. Can I send someone to heaven if their soul has already come here for reincarnation?"

The Phoenix pulled out a book from seemingly nowhere and started flipping through its pages. "Huh, would you look at that. You can't send him to heaven since his soul has already arrived here."

I looked at the Phoenix, trying to make sense of everything. "May I ask who you are?"

The Phoenix glanced at me with a calm expression. "I am the Phoenix of Reincarnation."

I blinked, still processing everything. "Why is there another god of Reincarnation?"

The dragon interjected, "There's one for every multiverse."

I blinked again, even more confused. "One for every multiverse? Not universe? The fuck?"

The dragon gave a slight nod. "Yes, every multiverse. The process of reincarnation is a bit more complex than most realize. Each multiverse has its own set of rules and entities overseeing it. That's why things can get... complicated."

I just stared at the dragon, trying to wrap my head around it. "So, you're telling me that there are different gods or beings like you and the Phoenix here for every multiverse? How does that even work?"

The Phoenix responded calmly, "It's simply the way things are. Each multiverse operates under its own set of rules, with its own versions of life, death, and rebirth. We're just here to ensure that those processes run smoothly."

I let out a long breath, feeling a headache coming on. "Okay, fine. But if I can't go to heaven, what happens to me now?"

The dragon and Phoenix exchanged glances, a silent conversation passing between them. The Phoenix finally spoke, "Since your soul has already arrived here, the only option left is for you to be reborn. The form and life you'll take on next are... somewhat up for debate."

I frowned. "Somewhat up for debate? What does that mean?"

The dragon sighed, looking a bit sheepish. "Well, you see, when a soul comes here, it's usually because it has agreed—either consciously or unconsciously—to reincarnate into a new life. But since you declined and we can't send you to heaven, we're in a bit of a bind."

I crossed my arms, frustrated. "So what, I'm just stuck here until you figure it out?"

The Phoenix glanced at me. "Originally, you were supposed to be reborn as Fionn, but given the situation, it's become quite complicated."

The dragon added, "So, we'll proceed with our usual method: the Wheel of Reincarnation."

From above, two colorful wheels descended. One was filled with names of various worlds, and the other was blank.

I looked at both wheels and asked, "Isn't there a better way to do this?"

The Phoenix shook his head. "This is the best method we have."

Resigned, I spun the Wheel of Reincarnation. It slowly came to a stop, landing on *Adventure Time*. I sighed, accepting my fate.

The dragon commented, "You got lucky. The person before you ended up in the SCP universe."

I stared at him in disbelief. "The what?"

The Phoenix quickly interjected, "Don't question it. Just spin the Character Wheel."

I spun the Character Wheel, hoping for a good outcome. It came to a halt on Finn. I exhaled in relief. "Oh boy, at least I'm saved."

The dragon continued, "Normally, we also offer a power wheel, but it's broken after the last rebirth. So, we'll grant you three wishes: two from me and one from my brother."

I nodded, not questioning the third wheel's absence. "Alright, let's see. For my first wish, I'd like a Mana Heart. For my second wish, I want all the abilities, powers, and wisdom of the Grand Caster Solomon from the Fate universe."

The Phoenix frowned. "Sorry, we can't grant you the wisdom of Solomon."

I looked at him, puzzled. "Okay, can you instead give me the Ten Rings? And just to clarify, I mean Solomon from the Fate universe."

The dragon nodded. "We can provide that. What do you want for your third wish?"

I thought for a moment before responding. "Give me the ability to be a fast learner."

The dragon and Phoenix exchanged nods. "Very well," said the dragon. "Your wishes are granted. Prepare for your new life."

The void around me began to shift once more. Colors and shapes swirled together as I felt myself being pulled into the new world. With a final burst of light, everything faded.

When I opened my eyes, I was lying in a forest clearing, feeling the softness of the ground beneath me. I looked around, noticing the vibrant colors and fantastical elements of the *Adventure Time* world blending with something more. I could feel the Mana Heart pulsing within me and the power of the Ten Rings resonating.

I took a deep breath and began to explore, ready to embrace my new life as Finn, or Fionn—whichever name I would come to understand in this blended realm of adventure and myth.

In the void, the Phoenix and the dragon watched as Finn, now reborn, began to adjust to his new reality.

The Phoenix turned to his brother, a hint of concern in his voice. "So, why didn't we mention that the *Adventure Time* world he's reborn into is heavily influenced by Celtic mythology?"

The dragon looked equally perplexed. "Wait, we didn't tell him? I thought that was part of the briefing!"

The Phoenix sighed. "Well, it seems we might have overlooked that detail. It could be quite a shock for him to discover that his new world is so intertwined with Celtic elements."

The dragon rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "It might make things more complicated for him, but it's too late now. He'll have to figure it out on his own."

The Phoenix nodded. "Indeed. We'll just have to trust that he can handle it. After all, it's part of the adventure."

They watched as Finn began to explore his new surroundings, knowing that the blend of *Adventure Time* and Celtic mythology would shape his journey in unexpected ways.

Finn, now a baby, looked at his tiny arm in disbelief. The reality of his situation hit him hard as he thought, *Why, just why couldn't I be reborn as teen Finn?* He sighed internally, realizing that he'd have to wait for Joshua and Margaret to find him, just like in the original *Adventure Time* timeline.

Trying to move his body, Finn felt the limitations of his new form. He ended up hurting himself slightly as he fell onto a leaf. Unlike a typical baby, he didn't cry from the pain—his soul, after all, belonged to a teenager. Still, the harsh reality of being an infant meant he was soon overcome by hunger, and instinct took over. He began to cry, not out of emotion but necessity.

As his cries echoed in the forest, no one came to him. People passed by, assuming someone else would take care of the abandoned baby. Finn hated this neglect, but he couldn't do anything in his current state. His cries grew louder out of frustration and hunger.

Then, a soothing voice reached his ears, cutting through his cries.

"Don't cry, my child."

Finn's eyes, despite being tear-filled, tried to locate the source of the voice. He was still crying, the primal needs of his baby body overwhelming him.

"My child, are you hungry?"

Finn turned his head, still confused, searching for the owner of the voice. It didn't sound like Margaret, who he vaguely remembered from the show. Then, out of nowhere, a woman appeared. She was stunning, with red hair that framed her face, a graceful figure, and an aura of maternal warmth. She picked him up gently.

The woman looked at him with a soft smile. "A human baby, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. "Oh right, I should first introduce myself. I am the goddess Danu."

At that moment, Finn's mind almost short-circuited. Danu? The name struck a chord deep within him. If this woman was truly who she claimed to be, then everything about this world was more complex than he had initially thought. The possibility of her being a goddess didn't just confuse him—it overwhelmed him, making his baby brain struggle to process what it all meant.

Finn, still cradled in the woman's arms, felt an overwhelming mixture of awe and confusion. His baby brain struggled to reconcile the memories and experiences of his past life with his current infant state. *Danu... the goddess of the Earth and fertility in Celtic mythology?* he thought, trying to piece together the fragments of knowledge he had about her. This was far beyond the world of *Adventure Time* he knew—this was something entirely different, rooted in ancient myths and legends.

The woman gently rocked Finn, her presence radiating a warmth and comfort that eased his cries. "You must be so confused, little one," she murmured softly, as if sensing his turmoil. "But don't worry, you're safe with me now."

Finn's hunger was momentarily forgotten as he gazed up at her, his mind racing. *Why is Danu here?* he wondered. *What does this mean for me?* He had hoped for a simple life as Finn in the *Adventure Time* universe, but now it seemed that his reincarnation came with far more complexity than he had anticipated.

However, to the goddess, he was just a baby—a special one, perhaps, but nothing more. She couldn't possibly know that the soul within this infant had lived before, carried the wisdom of ages, and had already made choices that would shape his future. To her, Finn was simply an extraordinary child who had somehow found his way into her care.

The woman smiled down at him. "You've been born into a world that is not as it seems," she said, her voice soothing and melodic. "This land, while familiar to you as Adventure Time, is deeply intertwined with the old myths and the power of the ancients."

Finn blinked, trying to absorb her words. *So this world is a fusion of Adventure Time and Celtic mythology?* It was a lot to take in, especially in his current state. But one thing was clear—this world was far more dangerous and mysterious than he had expected.

As if sensing his determination, she continued to speak, unaware of the deep thoughts stirring in his infant mind. "You may be small now, but you carry the potential for greatness within you," she said. "The powers within you will manifest in time, but for now, you must grow and learn. This world has much to teach you."

Finn felt a spark of hope. He might be a baby now, but he was still the same person who had requested those wishes from the dragon and the phoenix. He had the Mana Heart, the abilities and powers of Solomon, and the Ten Rings. All of these gifts would help him navigate this strange new world.

The woman gently stroked his tiny cheek. "In time, you will understand your purpose here," she said, her voice laced with mystery. "But for now, you must be patient. Joshua and Margaret will find you soon, and your journey will begin."

Finn, though still a baby, felt a sense of resolve settle within him. This wasn't the life he had planned, but it was the one he had been given. And he would make the most of it, whatever challenges lay ahead.

With that, she placed Finn back down on the leaf, wrapping him snugly in a soft, warm blanket she conjured from thin air. "Rest now, little one," she whispered. "The world will reveal itself to you in time."
