Getting Blessed

The ornamental gates that have existed since the beginning of the universe are gateways to different dimensions. These gates are made from a variety of materials, including bones, contained flames, and even abstract concepts such as emotions. These dimensions have been instrumental in humanity's current strength and dominance in their part of the universe.

However, humanity's only threat is the Gierriers, a technologically advanced race of demons who gain strength by devouring souls. They have even enslaved the Feens, another advanced race, and use them as cattle. The Feens, who rely on time and natural materials to grow stronger, are no match for their powerful slavers.

Clay's mind was swirling with a plethora of information as he fixated on the glowing red crystal orb floating before him. He couldn't believe that the moment had finally arrived for him to receive his blessing. He eagerly hoped that it would be related to summoning, as the idea of having a monster pet or even an army at his command was thrilling to him. He found himself in a grand, circular chamber with pristine white walls and a dome ceiling adorned with intricate artwork depicting various dimensions.

"I should try to use the ritual to shape the blessing I receive. Wikipedia, may your boundless knowledge aid me in realizing my aspirations," Clay thought to himself with a hint of sarcasm.

"Dimensions of Summoning, grant me your power, if I am deemed worthy by you, I will strive to fulfill your purpose. The same goes for the Dimension of Death, I am willing to handle the reanimation of corpses, as long as I am able to summon something." After reciting a makeshift prayer, Clay gingerly placed his hand on the red orb. The orb immediately shifted to a vibrant green hue, pulsating with energy.

Clay's vision was filled with a golden, semi-transparent interface that hovered before him.

"Wow!" Clay exclaimed in shock as he stared at the interface.

He quickly removed his hand from the orb and froze in conflicting emotions as he examined the information presented to him.

'This blessing is incredible. With my {Gifted} and {Experienced} abilities, I can become a tech genius maybe even make a good VR game and become a billionaire. The biggest problem with tech blessings is that the government will have me sign some papers and keep a close eye on me. That will be annoying but can't be helped. I should also be able to use weapons effectively, depending on what the blessing deems connected to technology. I shouldn't get too excited dimensions are known to exaggerate abilities they grant.

"Haaha, I am so greedy. This blessing is awesome but I am still disappointed it doesn't seem broken. Looks like if I want to be a top-tier hunter I will have to work hard."

'The requirements to become stronger also seem relatively relaxed; I just need to increase my affinity to acquire more abilities. Although the explanation is somewhat vague, I'm sure that with some experimentation, I'll be able to figure it out.'

'The concept of environments and a natural body is strange. Can I possess multiple powers at once? And what exactly is a natural body? Regardless, my life is set. The only downside is that I'll have to rely on technology for combat. But who knows, maybe if I increase my affinity enough, I'll get a summoning ability or even a robot transformation ability.'

After rereading the screen and fully absorbing the information, Clay searched for the will of Mother Earth.

"This Will looks manageable, and I'm excited to see what kind of gift I'll receive from the dimension once it's completed, and what new Will it will bring. I wonder what kind of gifts this dimension has in store for me. My parents will be thrilled with this blessing. Time to head home." Clay thought to himself as he happily walked out of the Federation Blessing Center.

He climbed into his cheap, dark blue hovercar and drove home. While driving he could feel the effects of {Experienced} and drove smoothly with confidence. Clay currently lived alone in a small apartment located in a nice part of the city. His father, a firefighter, had a water-based blessing, while his mother had a taming blessing. It was his mother who had sparked Clay's interest in a summoning ability since childhood. He had always been fascinated by how she used her pets to do all the household chores. The lazy Clay had always dreamed of having powerful servants to take care of all his tasks.

The reason Clay was enjoying living alone was due to the fact that the small town he was from didn't have an awakening orb. So he had to come to Hiten to awaken his blessing. Before coming he had already talked with his parents about staying here if he got a combat-related blessing as Hiten had the Starlight forest right next to it.

After freshening up he called and informed his parents of his blessing. They were very excited and wanted him to return and start studying to become and coder. They wanted him to do this because when Clay reached 20 years he will have to serve in the military, and having a coding job will keep him in a safer position.

'After graduating from school I haven't really practiced much combat, let's play it safe and try out a sniper for my first hunt. Even the cheapest is pretty expensive, I should just rent one out to try it out. Oh shit, I forgot I need a license too.'

Not wanting to be left with no money Clay decided he will learn to code and earn to beef up his savings so he could experiment with different weapons without not being able to pay for food and rent. 'If this plan doesn't work out I will just have to ask my parents to let me use my college fund. Even if I don't like the hunter life, with my abilities, I shouldn't need to go to college.

The next day Clay started learning how to code on his laptop. As Clay had taken a few beginner classes in school he knew the very basics, and after watching multiple videos he started looking through multiple complex scripts to see if he could understand them.

After that it took Clay few minutes to make multiple well made websites, he even joined free lancing orgs for the chance to earn extra.

'Now I really understand why people say blessings are fate, how can a normal person compete with me in coding or really anything related to tech?

Clay looked at his interface and went to his blessing tab to check his affinity.

'learning more about technology got me small amounts of affinity, few hours of working increased it by 1%. Hopefully it doesn't need exponentially more. I will worry about that later the important thing is for me to understand how the multiple environment things work. I need to go to a forest nearby and hunt non-elemental beasts.'

'I have already set up my website, I just need to wait now, if not for the government having powerful technomancers keeping an eye on the free web using advanced AI. I could have hijacked ads on different sites and place my ad on them... I just got my blessing and I have already started thinking of crimes. Power does corrupt all.'
