A crazed man once said "your fate is in your hands gentlemen, make of it what you will."
Lucius was surrounded on all sides. Around him, in the air, were thousands of beings. Each from a different guild or alliance of some kind. Some were even enemies until recently.
But now they were on the same side. All of them had the same goal. To take his belongings. It had been discovered not too long ago he was in possession of godly relics. Key word was items. Not one but multiple.
Even the strongest powers had only one godly relic at most, but he had multiple. When the news came out it caused an uproar across the Greater God's domain. What type of luck did someone need to have to have multiple Godly relics? But alas it also attracted the greed of many powers. Hence the alliance that was surrounding him.
Still even up till this point Lucius still had an amused expression on his face. He focused on the person who seemed to be the speaking person for this shabby alliance.
"Finis what exactly do you and your playmates want?"
Finnis face scrunched up hearing this. "Even surrounded by thousands of gods you still have the nerve to be conceited." He shook his head in pity. " You know exactly what we want, so hand them over and let's bury this behind us."
"How am I supposed to give up soul bound items, hmm?" Lucius was truly curious what they would pull out their asses.
Finis smiled coldly hearing this. "You simply have to tear away a piece of your soul with the item."
Lucius froze up for a moment before he doubled over laughing. He laughing could be the only thing heard as Finis stared at him.
"What's so funny."
Lucius wiped the tears out his eyes before he answered. "What you said is funny. We both know damn well what would happen if I did such a thing. Especially multiple times, I might as well be as good as dead after."
Finnis shook his head. "Does it matter in the end then? You'll be dead either way."
Lucius shrugged his shoulders. "You're right about that, I'm a dead man either way. But sadly for you I've decided how I'll go out."
As he finished his sentence his figure seemed to dissipate. When he reappeared he was behind Finnis whose complexion had turned pale. He looked down and saw Lucius's hand coming out through his chest. And if he were a betting man he was pretty the thing in his hand was his heart.
'Shukuchi'
"I plan to go die fighting." Was the last thing Finnis heard before the last life left his body. Lucius retracted his hand and let Finis's body drop to the ground with a thud.
The thud could be heard by everyone present, as it was completely silent. The gods were shocked. Battles between gods usually were a lot more climatic as it was no simple task for one god to kill another. But… Finnis death was instant. He didn't even have a chance to fight back.
Lucius looked around him. He still had that same amused expression on his face even though he knew what was about to happen next. He simply raised his hands and motioned for them to come.
This naturally hurts the pride of gods. How dare this bastard be so arrogant.
Lucius smirked as he saw the mana around him began to explode as thousands of techniques were being formed at once all aimed at him.
"Well there's no point of holding back anymore."
And indeed it wasn't as Lucius wasn't going to just sit around and wait for them to attack them. He balled his fist gathering up imaginable power before punching the space in front of him.
'Death of Stars'
When he punched out a ball of light started to form in front of his fist, growing at an alarming rate. Those that got caught up in the ball of light were instantly disintegrated as the light overtook their position. But this wasn't the end. As the ball of light's growth seemed to stop, it collapsed on itself as quickly as it had grown, leaving behind a tiny spot of black.
"This goddamn suicidal maniac! He's made a black hole, get away before you get pulled in." Someone yelled
Lucius smiled evilly. "Too late"
The black hole began rapidly expanding, pulling hundreds of gods forward. None could resist the pulling force even with them trying to use special treasures to teleport away. The ability Lucius used had locked the space around them down. No one could leave.
In the same short while the black hole was expanding he had begun chasing after the gods that had gotten out of the gravitational pull of the black hole. He simply shrugged off the force of the black hole as he'd trained in this environment before, this type of force was familiar. But his movements didn't go unnoticed as some of the gods began unleashing spells, combat techniques, and mana techniques at him. Lucius saw them coming but didn't try to dodge them, but took the attacks head on. Simply for the fact that there were too many coming from all around he couldn't dodge if he wanted too.
"Hm! With this that bastard is done for. All he was good at it seems were sneak attacks." A god said in disdain. But he quickly had to swallow his words as when the area cleared, Lucius was still there. The fact he could take so many high level attacks and still be living was unfathomable.
"Oh my god, what the hell is his body made of ?!" someone cried out.
All the injuries on his body started to close up till he was back in pristine condition. That's why he didn't mind taking the attacks head on as his regeneration factor was high.
'Mana technique: Dismantle'
He formed a knife hand and chopped at those around him, while they gaped in amazement. Dozens of pure white sword lights flew out, cutting through the gods, making them fall from the sky to the ground beneath them. Becoming fertilizer for the earth below them.
Lucius looked around admiring his work. The bodies falling, the blood raining down, the look of horror on the faces around him, … it was beautiful. It reminded him of what his master used to say.
The thought brought a smile to his face. He had no regrets at this moment, he'd lived life as he pleased and reached a level where even gods fell under one swipe of his hand.
His blood was pumping, his battle spirit rising, and his mana boiled as his body burst into golden light, bleeding into the world surrounding him. It dominated the laws around him, turning it into his own territory. He smiled with the golden light illuminating his teeth.
"If I don't go to hell, who will?"
-x-x-x-x-x-
"Ugh, why the fuck does my head feels like it's about to explode." Lucius muttered to himself.
"Eh?"
He realized he was lying on a bed… but that should be impossible. He was sure he'd died fighting gods in the Greater God's Domain. His face began scrunching up as he began looking over his memories. It was a short while later that he finished that he released a deep sigh.
"Master"
He'd found the reason he was still alive. It was due to one of the abilities his master had given him, Immortal. But it only activated after he died, reconstructing his body. Although he was alive he'd lost all his belongings. All his soul bound items were gone, dispersed back into the Greater God's Domain after his soul had been destroyed.
The only thing he had left were the skills he'd been given by his master. They'd survived as they were connected to the "Immortal" skill. So why he'd lost all his skills he'd still had the gifts that his master had given him and all of his fighting techniques he'd be fine. Or so he hoped.
"Hmm, before I start coming to conclusions, let's figure out where I'm at first."
He got up and began searching the place he was in. By the time he was done he found he was in a small apartment. He eventually found a phone and was quickly able to find where he was at. He was in Japan, on Earth. When he found out he felt as if his head was spinning.
'How am I on Earth? Is this the same Earth that I lived on all those years ago? If so, how long has it been?'
Before he grew to become a god in God's Domain, he'd been a regular human from Earth. He was a part of a Ranger Squad that had been sent on a mission to take over a secluded airfield. But it had turned out to be not so simple as intel had reported the enemy numbers to be 100, yet in reality it was almost twice that number. Ah and there was a squad of spetsnaz.
Things went from 0 to 100 real fucking quick. And Lucius was just one of the casualties that resulted from that battle. He'd lived to see the mission completed, but died from blood loss. He remembered looking up at the Aurora Borealis, painting the sky and emerald green. He closed his eyes and opened them only to find he was in a place filled with magic, fanaticals beast, and gods.
But now he was back. Or at least he was back on a "Earth", as it might not be the one he was from. The one he was from was without mana, but at the moment he could see the mana in the air.
He found he had a phone and quickly began researching a few key details to see if it was his original planet or another. He quickly found that it wasn't his home to his disappointment. If it was he would've tried to get in contact with some of his Ranger buddies, as they were the closest thing he had to family.
But while his findings disappointed him he'd learned a few things about this world. Gates appeared in this world, containing monsters in them. If the monsters in them weren't killed in time the gates would break and the monsters would come out to the real world, attacking everything in sight. But not all hope was lost as people suddenly reawakened with newfound strength. E-S rank hunters as they called them.
Lucius guessed mana must have appeared with the gates. But what really confused him was the fact that once a person awakened they were stuck with that rank. Why couldn't they get stronger he thought to himself. Actually that provoked another question, what exactly determined how a hunter got their rank? He would have to find out eventually.
After finding a bit about the world background he began the process of trying to figure out who HE was in this world. Was his name still Lucius or was it different? Did he have any family in this world, or was he by himself? Shit, was he a ranker? Well actually he could figure that out easily as he could feel the mana in his body.
As for who he was in this world that would take a little while as he had to go through all these unfamiliar memories he had in his head.
"No point in pushing it off. It'd be awkward as hell to leave the apartment and get approached by someone that knows me but suddenly I don't know them."
So with that in mind he sat cross-legged on his bed and began looking through his new self's past memories.
