Welcome

Her sister's safety was her priority in the past when it all began and to this day, it has always been her priority. Her sister could never be safe without knowing so much.

She turned to her sister and pressed her lips together and nodded after checking out her sister's appearance.

"You should find a good man for yourself too," she advised the girl. she has a given purpose behind every relationship she has been in but she wanted her sister to fall in love and be with a man she loves.

"What if I don't want to?" Ruoruo asked as she noticed the slight sadness in her sister's gorgeous eyes.

"Then you find yourself a young woman you love," she shrugged with a playful smile.

"I can get anyone I want," her sister bragged.

Lin Jing nodded in agreement. They both inherited that unforgettable beauty their mother has.

Shen Yan could not come but he sent his chauffeur to pick them up. He sent her a text that he would pick them up as soon as they arrive.

She happened to arrive at the same time as Lu Tian. She met his gaze while her sister was still stepping out of the car as she was trying not to look awkward with the clothing, she was made to wear.

She felt a tightening feeling in her abdomen as her eyes met his obsidian eyes that were so cold it could almost freeze her to death.

She swallowed and stretched her hand to her sister who took note of her struggling in her peripheral line of sight.

"Thank you," Ruoruo appreciated as she took her sister's hand. She glanced at the heeled shoe her sister was wearing which had a higher heel than hers and she had to wonder how her sister was able to stand so well in those shoes and even offer help.

They say two blind men cannot lead each other. Her sister has to be very comfortable in them to be able to help her. She smiled gratefully as she stood beside her sister with her purse clutched in her hand.

She sighed and tried to appear more relaxed so that she won't make her sister lose face among her fiancé's friends.

She looked around for her sister's fiancé and she saw him at the door but he had stooped in front of the revolving door dressed in a dark blue tuxedo. He looked as handsome as always but she saw a flash of something dangerous in his eyes as he looked at something or someone before looking at her sister.

It was only a few seconds before his gaze moved to her and he smiled when their eyes met. She blushed and looked away almost immediately. He began walking towards them.

She wanted to nudge her sister but she held back as she felt that will make her look less lady-like than the dress already made her. She raised her head to look at her sister who was beside her.

She was forced to follow her sister's gaze to the same place she saw her sister's fiancé looking. A handsome well-known man stood looking at them but his eyes were fixed on her sister.

She could almost feel herself become invisible as she watched the two stare at each other like they were the only persons in front of the hotel they were having the party.

She cleared her throat and when her sister did not react to that, she was forced to nudge her softly with her elbow after shifting closer to her sister.

Lin Jing was shocked when he looked at her did the way he did. for her, it was a staring contest and as she has always heard, making eye contact was an important move in breaking the walls around people.

It was subtle, is always subtle but the person will slowly get used to it. If she did not have the beautiful almond eyes she had, she would have doubted the ability but she knew and has always had about how beautiful her eyes were.

She did not break eye contact with him even when her sister cleared her throat and she only did so when she noticed Mr. Shen approaching them fast.

That was just in time for her sister to nudge her waist. She smiled and moved her gaze from the man staring at her as she could not come up with the thoughts hidden behind those cold eyes.

She was very curious, he was the most interesting subject she has ever come in contact with, his walls were so high and thick and also ran very deep.

His eyes twitched very slightly but not too unnoticeable to escape her trained eyesight. Her smile broadened in the sweetest way that her sister felt it was too dazzling to see. She wondered how her sister could make herself look so enchanting with a simple smile.

"Welcome," she heard her fiancé's voice and she feigned surprise as she met his gaze and blushed softly enough to not make her look like a fifteen-year-old in front of her crush.

She rather looked like a beautiful woman pleased to see her man. She stretched her hand to him without reservation and he took it.

With a smile lifting the corners of his lips.

"You look good," she told him softly as she leaned closer to him so that he would be the only person to hear her words.

His smile broadened as he looked down to look at her. He pulled her close and his hand snaked around the slimness of her waist hanging so low threatening to come in contact with the sexy curve below.

"You look most gorgeous and don't steal my words next time. It is a wound to my ego if am not allowed to praise my woman first," he told her as they walked towards his friends who were still watching them.

She laughed so softly with her head bowed shyly. Anyone witnessing such a lovely scene would have no choice but to appreciate the love this couple was displaying with so much ease, looking so beautiful it would pique the envy of those around.

The twitch of her fiancé's friend's eyes was more noticeable than the first and yet the coldness in those eyes did not diminish, rather it increased but when he met her fiancé's gaze, he smiled.

Her gaze was on his eyes which did not change despite the smile that had lifted the corners of his lips.

"You might have met her before, this is my fiancée, Lin Jing," Mr. Shen introduced her to the man whose eyes were so cold someone would wonder if he had ever felt pain or joy in his life, they seemed dead to the world around.
