Zompocalypse

Flickering lights, disgusting scent.

"Wahh!! *huff* *huff*...w-where am i?", the young man looks around trying to remember what happened to him. This boy is Vins, he was a senior highschool student in a integrated highschool campus. He was a first year students and his course was computer system servicing (CSS).

The young man tries to get up and call for some assistance. A scent suddenly make him cough, it was disgusting and smell like dead rat. He look around the place, and he was in a clinic around their campus, no nurses or teacher watching over him. 'I wonder where are they...should they watching over me while i'm resting? Maybe outside..", he said while walking at the door, and opening it.

Suddenly, the smell become stronger and when he open his both eyes, he can see that the place was full of splattered blood. These makes him panic because he doesn't know what's happening, he head towards the nearby covered court. A small shop is standing there, so he stop there for a while, as he was about to look, a terrifying figure was standing on its side, covered with blood, crumbling skins, loosened hairs, ripped clothes and its eyes was scary, it was lifeless yet moving. He start breathing fast because of nervousness, suddenly he quickly hide behind the shop, because just now...the terrifying figure glares at his eyes.

'W-what the heck is that!? I-its...staring at me deep inside!', while he was covering his mouth, breathing so fast, the terrifying figure was now standing beside him, and staring at his soul. He slowly roll his eyes and look at the figure besides him, which makes him sweat a lot. The figure lifted its arm, and tries to scratches him, luckily for Vins he quickly dodges it and start running towards the gate.

"What the heck is that!!??? What the heck is happening!!?", as he look behind him, not just one figure is chasing him...but a hundred of them!!. Vins rush towards the gate, and quickly push it to permanently close it, stopping those terrifying creatures from attack him. "I need something to get away as fast as i could from here...", he look for something to use, until he found a bicycle on the road. He grabbed it and hop on it, he start pedaling and goes somewhere safe, 'Where should i go!? Looks like apocalypse had happened while i'm asleep...i need to find my fri—', he was cut off when he suddenly remember someone in his mind—or his heart, it was a young woman with a beautiful brown hair, curly and wearing a spiral glasses. "I know where should i go...i hope she's still there...ALIVE..".

While pedaling away from the campus, he saw from afar, a little girl walking and crying at the street, looks alone or seperated from her parents. Suddenly, another terrifying figure appears behind the little girl, and it was rushing towards her. Vins eyes widened in fear and nervous, he fastened his pedals to reach the little girl on time, suddenly his wheel hit a hams -something in the roads so that vehicles can slow down, usually using in Philippines. He flew towards the little girl, but using his quick reflexes, he grabbed the bicycle, and throw it at the terrifying figure, landing infront of the child, and hugging it. "You'll be okay...i promise..", he said.

Vins stand up, and look at the terrifying figure, looks like it was a weak one unlike the others he encountered earlier. "Let's get out of here...before that thing..uhh..woke up, come on..", he hold the little girl's hand and they walk towards the other side of the highway. While their walking, the two of them stumble upon a convenience store, he thought that it will be a long journey for both of them, so he grabbed the backpack he saw from the ground, and take out all of its thing inside. Then they enter inside of the convenience store to get some useful things. The little girl was looking around the store, and saw so many chocolates, which makes her crave for it, "Grab if you want..no one will get mad at you, but remember..always eat it when lunch or dinner is done okay", Vins smiles and continue taking some canned foods and other stuff.

Night has come, Vins and the little girl set a little camp at the road, luckily there is a abandoned car so they tried to open it and turn it into one of their camp, temporarily. Vins is now cooking rice inside of the van, and opening some canned foods for them, "What is your name by the way? I didn't get your name since i saw you this afternoon?", the young man ask, "Chloe...Chloe is my name...what about you? Bigbro?", the little girl ask back, "Vins, you can call me Vins okay...where is your parents? You told me while we walking that you got seperated to them?", he ask again, "Yes, we supposed to go in Central Plaza together...since there's evacuation there, unluckily for me i got seperated from my parents because of the sudden panic of all peoples..", Chloe said while looking down again. Vins felt bad for the little because she lost her parents in this apocalypse, he smiles to her and caressing her hair, "Don't worry, we will find your parents okay...i promise you that", Chloe slightly smile and start eating her dinner that Vins made for them. "What about you bigbro? Where you going?", Vins smiles at her again while eating his own dinner, "To a girl, the girl that i love the most since the very start of my school year...she was living here near...that's where we heading tomorrow...plus we will search too about your parents..", he doesn't know if she's still alive, but he wants to rise his hope that the girl that he still love was still alive.

Morning has come, sun is already on top of them. Vins and Chloe was now walking towards the location where the girl that Vins is talking about is located. They stumble some more houses since it was a village-like place. They arrived on a small subdivision, it was in chaos too like those they walk passed, blood splattered, dead corpses, rats and crows are everywhere. "Let's go, this is the place for sure..", Vins smiles and head inside of the subdivision with Chloe. They saw some dead bodies at the street, crows eating flesh, rats running around, and the scent of dead is lurking around the place. Chloe hide behind him and cover her nose because of the smell. "I'm scared...bigbro", she said when suddenly a terrifying figure is standing and walking infront of them, it was covered in blood, crumbling skins, flesh is visible, broken leg, and distorted face. The figure saw them and growls loudly at them, this makes both of them flinch, but for the child's protection...Vins took a metal rod at the side, and prepare for a fight, the figure rush towards him and was about to reach them, but Vins quickly smash its head using the metal rod. Blood splatter, its guts comes out on its head, the scent becomes more disgusting when the head is already crushed. Suddenly, more growls echoed in the whole street, which makes Chloe shaking in fear, Vins look around and he saw so many maybe fifty of them is running towards them. "Stay with me, don't you dare distance yourself to me, i will protect you i promise!!", Vins said full of confidence, he swing his rod and smash their heads one by one, not letting a single one of them got near at the child. Blood splatter more, metal clung echoed every smash he do, their eyes fleeing out of their heads, bodies falling at the ground, bleeding so much.

More of them is coming, and at this rate the two of them will get eaten alive if they didn't get out of this place immediately. Suddenly, a gate open behind them, an old man is standing there, "You've cause too much trouble young man, come inside hurry!!", he doesn't know who's the old man and why his helping them, but he thinks that the old man was familiar to him, he grabbed Chloe and immediately get inside of the house, making the infecteds to confused.

Inside of the house, it was a small but cozy house, that two families can be fit. The old man stand behind them and he was not happy at what Vins do outside, "You put that girl's life in danger...do you call yourself his brother? You don't deserve to be his protector..", the old man said with a terrifying look, the old man was bulky and huge for his age, he was bald but bearded. "I need to do what i can to protect this girl...even both of our lives is in the stakes of death..", this makes the old man get pissed and suddenly grabbed his collar, and lifting him, "What did you say!? Young man!!?", Vins is not intimidated by the old man, he was just staring at his eyes like he was confident to his answer. "You've got some guts, young man...i won't tolerate it".

Suddenly, an old woman comes down the stairs and look at the three of them, "I heard some noises outside...what was that Tei?", the old woman named Aissa ask to her husband, she was around 60+ years old, have a blonde hair, and chubby body, and wearing a glasses. "Oh no, look at yourself dear...you full of blood, did you fight those dead peoples with the kid with you!? That's outrageous kid, don't put the kid's life on danger..", she said, "That's what i'm telling to him, hon!", Tei said and walk inside of the house. "You should go now in the bathroom, young man...you need to clean yourself..", she said and brought Chloe inside of the house, leaving Vins alone. At the stairs, a young lady is listening at them, the young lady was wearing a rounded glasses, and have a short curly hair.

He did what the old woman said, as he head towards the bathroom, and take a quick bath in it. He doesn't know how long he was sleeping at the campus clinic, but he still can't remember why he got there. He start scrubbing himself with the soap, and pouring his body with water in the shower. After that, he took his towel and start drying himself, but suddenly a young lady accidentally enter the bathroom, seeing Vins fully naked. The young lady was calmly staring at him, and realize the situation, she then suddenly scream loudly, throwing Vins with a soap in the head, causing him to fell at the floor. After some few minutes, Tei was laughing nonstop because of the accident happened earlier, "HA HA HA HA!! I can't believe you will easily defeated by a bar of soap! HA HA HA HA!", Vins was holding s icepack on his head, while the young lady keeps on bowing her head for forgiveness, "I'm sorry!! I'm sorry!! I'm sorry!! I just panicked that's why i throw a soap on you!", Tei once again laugh nonstop.

Suddenly, something pop's out on his mind after hearing the young lady's voice, it was so familiar to him, like he heard it several times before. As he slowly looking at the young lady, his eyes widened because the young lady...is non other than the girl he was searching for, "You...i know you, Fionna...that's...you...you are alive!?", the happiness on his face can be seen, Tei and Aissa was confused at what he was saying, Fionna's eyes widened too because Vins was still alive after the apocalypse happened, last months. "...you are...alive too, Vins".
