My Lord

The Crown

Demons rival Gods. Heavenly deities wield the power of light while demons wield the power of dark. There is a myth about celestials and demons. They say that when a mythological beast gets cursed, it turns into a demon and when it gets blessed by nature, it turns into a God.

And the demon lord that I am talking about, is considered to have the power to rival all of heavenly deities. Legend says he is a white dragon born under the red moon. He is cruel and vicious. He wields three magic attributes at once that are very rare even among the celestial beings. He wields ice, fire, and dark magic and he has perfected them. He never does anything that doesn't benefit him.

He may be a demon but his influence is all over the continent. Act out of the line and he will execute you. And the only passageway that connects the demon realm to our human realm is this forest. This is the reason the demon realm is a curse to our kingdom.

A cold shiver jolts down my spine and my instincts kick in. I need to get out of here. I will die if I stay here for another second. I spin around and start walking, no, running. I run and run but the forest seems to get denser and denser as I move forward. As if it's trying to engulf me in it. I break into cold sweats and panic starts to gnaw at me. Bry brunches are snapping beneath my feet and each sound is making me even more tense. But I don't stop and keep running. My heart is beating in my throat and my lungs are knotted so tightly that they can't process my breathing anymore.

After banishment, I thought I would live a life full of adventure, meet various people, and experience many more things. But who could have thought that I would end up getting stuck into the clutches of the supreme demon lord?

Abruptly I stop, as I feel an overwhelmingly strong and dangerous presence coming this way. The breath around me stutters away and my heart stops as fear fists my stomach. My self-preserving instinct is telling me to run away and never look back. But my limbs are immobilized with fear and dread. I feel the presence grow stronger and denser. I have never experienced anything like this before. This presence is different than anything I have ever experienced. It's crushing me beneath it. I can't move. I feel very nauseated.

I force my body to move and hide behind a thick tree trunk as my heart kickstarts in a dangerous rhythm and I gasp for air. I suddenly feel cold. So cold that I think my sweats have frozen and I swear I can see a huff coming out of my mouth.

I am scared. I am so scared that I am about to lose my shits.

The Rose

"My lord, if you ordered then this servant could come here and check if any human infiltrated your territory, without your permission." Phillip rumbles under his breath, "You needed not come here yourself."

"Phillip, do you doubt my judgment?" I ask though it is not a question as I make a gesture with my eyes and the trees start to move around us and make a way for us. "I decided to come here myself. I need to see, which royalty has sneaked into my territory."

"My deepest apology, my lord." Phillip shuts up with an apology and continues to follow me.

As light magic users can detect dark magic, dark magic users can also detect light magic. And I can feel a strong presence of light magic user here. The more amusing fact is it's blessed by a God. And the magic is not something that a peasant wields. The royal family of the Blade Empire only wields this kind of magic. I have a royalty sneaking around here. And I can feel my heart beating with anticipation. It's been centuries since someone stepped foot on my territory let alone a royalty. I hope this lowlife will give me an enjoyable playtime.

Suddenly I spot a shadow moving around the corner behind a tree. Amusement glints in my red eyes with a hint of cruelty. I halt on my track, "You may come out now. I do not like to repeat myself. So, you may come out now or I know various methods to drag you out." I pause a little and a small cruel smile tugs on the corner of my lip, my heart is pounding with excitement, "Your Highness."

It seems the space has stopped as slowly the silhouette that was hidden behind the tree trunk showcases itself. My breath hitches. I take the silhouette in slowly, from head to toe. My heart beating unusually fast with every inch I go down. The man standing before me is…tempting.

The sky has cleaned up and the blue moon has shown up. And underneath the blue moon, the man, who is standing before me has a mesmerizing holy beauty embracing him. He is enhancing but not enough to melt the frozen heart of mine, which is beating so hard and urging me to touch him and make sure that he is a human but I suppress it.

At first, I considered this young man to be a nobleman because of his clothing but after examining his aura I am certain that he belongs to a royal family. After taking him in from head to toe, I start, "It is quite unexpected of a royalty to sneak into this hellhole." I smile mildly though the smile doesn't reach my cruel eyes as I peer down at him.

Maybe he has a big build for a normal human but he is too small for me. So small that I could crush him before he could even realize it.

"I-It was a mistake!" The blond youth's breath and his whole body are trembling with fear.

That's right. You shall fear me before your chance gets snatched away from you.

"Oh, a mistake?" My tone is bland and sarcastic as I return, "But Your Highness, I presume the Sokatdi forest is forbidden for humans."

"I-I was banished from the palace and so I decided to live in the forest." He starts to explain. But little does he know that I have no interest in his petty explanation. "And today I was just wandering in the woods and got lost. Then I found myself here. I beg your forgiveness, my lord for my oblivious nature." He apologizes desperately, as though his life depends on it and his petty little life really does depend on my words.

"As you have already stepped into my domain, whether you apologize or not, it does not matter at this point, Your Highness." My presence freezes the environment as I pass out my judgment equally as coldly, "You must be executed, and I will give you the honor of being executed by me."

The youth's head shoots up, which he was hanging low because he couldn't gather the courage to look me in the eyes. His fading blue eyes clash with my vibrant red ones. They are in stark contrast of mine. They are blue like the vast sea and his beauty only excites me even more to kill him and see his blood for myself if they are actually red. Because the amount of gracefulness he is carrying with him is not something a mere human can do.

"Please don't do it. My lord, have some mercy." He pleads with me, "I did not disturb you intentionally. It was a mere mistake! My lord, please forgive me. I will- I will never, never step into your territory again. Have mercy, my lord!"

"And why should I show you mercy?" I arch my brow. I could never imagine having this much fun with a mere human. His begging and pleading are waking the monster inside me. "Show me a considerable reason for me to show you my mercy and let your petty little life go."

The cherry lip of this young man disappears behind his white teeth as he contemplates his next words. He knows that he must choose his next word very carefully. It will depend on whether I spare his life or kill him right now and here. My eyes narrow but the blankness of my face remains blank as I wait for the youth's answer.

"I-I will be useful to you if you keep me alive. I will repay you for the kindness if you spare my life." The youth replies, determination and hope sparkling in his blue eyes. I can see just how desperately they are screaming at me that they want to live and see things that they haven't seen yet.

"And may I know, how are you planning to do so, Your Highness?" I coat the amusement in my tone with my blankness, "Care to elaborate?"

"I will do anything for you, my lord." He doesn't weaver under my pointed glare. He stands his ground, "I have to return to the palace after two years, so during this time, I will be your servant, my lord. I will do anything you say, if you spare my life, my lord." His reasoning astonishes me even more. I wonder if he is exceedingly dense or exceedingly intelligent.

"Your Highness, do you really think that I will need a human like you to follow my orders and do work for me? Do you not think that I already have more than enough servants and devotees to do so for me?" I return, pushing him hard to get the best out. I want to see what is this human capable of.

"I am aware of this, my lord." However, he doesn't weaver and stares dead into my eyes. His fear has been subsided by the urge for survival, "But my lord, you are very influential in the human realm and there is a limit to what a demon can do there in the daytime, so if you appoint me as your servant then I will hereby devote myself for two years to complete various tasks given by you. I believe the mentioned time is more than enough to repay your kindness."

My lips curve into a small amused smile, "What is your name?"

"My name is Lush Von Blade, the crown prince of the Blade Empire."

He is a light magic user and over that blessed by a God. He has something in him that is yet to wake. He will be a useful pawn if I use him with consideration and other than that…it would be a waste to kill such a grace.

"Well come to the southern domain of demon territory of Demon realm, Your Highness." I welcome him with my usual coldness, "I hope you will be devoted to me for the next two years." Then I turn to Phillip, "Take him to the palace."

"Yes, my lord." He bows and acknowledges.

I have a feeling that the next two years are going to be the most memorable years of my life. And I loathe to admit that I am looking forward to it. I will enjoy myself to the fullest during my playtime with Lush.
