Killing Tyrant

'My domain has surrounded the Tyrant completely and made his ice domain disappear, it can't absorb any energy from beyond the walls I created,' Liam thought. 'Its energy control is also too weak to take any of my energy.'

The Tyrant saw Liam approach again and roared loudly. It swung its massive claws at Illyana, hitting her out of the sky to get rid of the distracting factor.

Liam sprinted forward, now much faster than he was before. From the ground beneath him, ancient stone pillars emerged, creating a new platform infront of him with each step he took, lifting him higher as he ran.

The Tyrant swung its claws at him again, simultaneously preparing another flame breath. Liam leaped high into the air, the pillars beneath him crumbling on impact from the claws. He landed on the Tyrant's arm once more and sprinted up, a trail of fire following behind him as the Tyrant released its flame breath on himself without hesitation, scorching its own arm.

Ahead of Liam, rows of spikes formed again, but this time he shifted Neontote into its normal form and slashed through the spikes in his path with ease.

Seeing this, the Tyrant began to change its body. It manipulated the energy within itself, altering its structure. Large holes appeared along Liam's path, shooting out beams of immensely hot plasma.

Not knowing the full limits of his new armor, Liam decided not to test it recklessly. He jumped again, and at the peak of his leap, another ancient pillar rose beneath him, coming all the way from the ground which preventing him from falling.

Behind the Tyrant, Illyana had flown back into the sky. More of the large holes had started to appear across the Tyrant's massive body, and as Illyana attacked its back, the Tyrant retaliated by releasing plasma beams through the newly formed pores.

Lockheed swooped in just in time, grabbing Illyana in his claws and pulling her away from the plasma beams. He dodged several of the beams as he flew higher, continuing to fly up despite how Illyana struggled.

Illyana, still in her Dark Chylde form, was beginning to lose her rationality as the battle went on, making her increasingly oblivious to danger and her allies.

Liam leaped once more from the stone pillar, which shattered as the Tyrant's claws passed just beneath him. Now at eye level with the beast, Liam subconsciously let energy flow into Neontote in its normal form. He swung the spear downward, releasing a large arc of golden-white energy towards one of the Tyrant's eyes.

The energy sliced into its eye, destroying it. The remaining arc still had some energy and continued deeper into the Tyrant's head, until the arc ran out of energy and faded.

Meanwhile, Illyana, together with Lockheed, unleashed her hellfire flames on the Tyrant's remaining eyes. However, the Tyrant had already adapted to her flames, making them ineffective. Struggling to deal with both Liam and Illyana near its head, the Tyrant roared in frustration and began creating massive ice crystals in the sky.

Hundreds of razor-sharp ice crystals, each twenty feet long and eight feet thick, formed around its head. The Tyrant let out another loud roar, and the ice crystals flew towards Liam, Illyana, and Lockheed.

Liam looked at ice crystals and Illyana, stopped his approach on the remaining eyes and summoned a small white spatial rift in front of him. Another rift appeared behind Illyana. Liam jumped through the portal and grabbed Illyana under his left arm, using Neontote to slice through the oncoming ice crystals.

He created another rift in front of him and leaped through it, using the momentum of his earlier jump. Lockheed followed closely behind him and entered the portal with them.

They reappeared in the middle of some ruins in a dimension Liam had unintentionally visited many times before. Wasting no time, Liam created yet another spatial rift, still holding Illyana as he jumped through. This time, they appeared on the ground, with the sky now filled with thousands of ice crystals. The Tyrant had shrunk, losing several stories in height.

Liam set Illyana down as Lockheed landed beside her.

"It's losing energy," Liam observed. 'It's working, it's lost massive chunks of its strength already. It also can't absorb any more energy because it has already drained everything within my walls except for mine and Illyana's, which it can't absorb.'

'But seeing it shrunk like this, the ice crystals must be even sharper now,' he thought, glancing between the crystals and Illyana. 'I don't know if Illyana can survive.'

"My attacks aren't... going through anymore," Illyana said, struggling to stay rational. "My sword... not sharp enough. Hellfire ... works barely."

Liam thought for a moment, his gaze falling on her greatsword. An idea struck him.

"Illyana, I know you're struggling right now, but I need you to try something," he said. He pointed to a massive black greatsword stuck in the ground a few hundred feet in front of them. "I'm going to need you to try to pull that greatsword out of the ground."

Illyana stared into his eyes, then stiffly turned her gaze toward the sword. She nodded slowly.

"The ice... crystals can pierce... my armor," she said. "I can't... get over there."

"I'll take care of that," Liam reassured her. "I'll rift us closer, and then you just need to try."

She nodded again, trusting his judgment.

Liam opened another rift, bringing them closer to the Tyrant and the black greatsword. Sensing them close to the sword, the Tyrant dropped to all fours and ran at them, sending all the ice crystals hurtling towards their position.

"Go," Liam instructed as he transformed Neontote into its dragon form.

Illyana flew towards the sword with Lockheed close behind her.

"Well then," Liam murmured with a smirk, "let's see how well this goes."

He held Neontote with both hands, aiming it at the approaching wave of ice crystals. 'Fifty percent of my energy... that's a first for me, I gotta spread it thin to make sure I don't miss any,' he thought.

Drawing energy from his connection to Incursio's dimension and his original dimension, Liam channeled white and yellow energy into the spear. Inside Neontote's dragon form, the mouth opened wide, forming a large orb of pure white fire. Knowing the temperature was high enough, Liam unleashed it.

A massive wave of white flames erupted from Neontote, spreading wider as it traveled. The flames stretched over half a mile in length and width, obliterating the ice crystals in the sky. The Tyrant, seeing the flames, leaped to the side, shaking the ground with the impact.

Liam attempted to redirect the flames towards the Tyrant, but it moved just fast enough to avoid the attack. Realizing the flames were about to start heading towards Illyana, Liam cut off the energy flow to Neontote.

The Tyrant noticed why Liam had stopped and used the opportunity to charge towards Illyana, using her as a shield.

Illyana, meanwhile, had reached the black greatsword. As she wrapped her hands around the hilt, a dark aura surged around her, releasing a shockwave. Her horns and wings grew longer as she slowly pulled the greatsword from the ground.

Raising it to the sky, she summoned her Soul Sword. Slowly, she brought the two swords together. As the swords touched, another shockwave erupted, this time a mix of dark black and deep red energy. The two swords fused into one, leaving Illyana in the air wielding a 16-foot-long greatsword. Its blade had a dark red hue, and the handle was pitch black.
