Oliver was pissed. Beyond pissed. He hadn't spoken a word when she called him and told him to pick her up.
The way his eyes darkened when he saw the hand prints on her neck. Why was he angry at her? Shouldn't he be angry at Maynor? She pursed her lips.
"Ow!" She winced when he applied the ointment on her neck. He still didn't say anything but he softened when he applied the next one.
"Ouch!"
"It doesn't hurt. Now stay still." The warning was clear as his jaw ticked. The ointment wouldn't hurt because the marks were superficial. She was just acting.
"But it hurts!" She protested.
"Where?" His brows furrowed.
"Here," she pointed at her heart. She sat cross-legged on his sofa while he faced her.
Oliver rolled his eyes. "I'm serious it hurts!" Kayla insisted and what Oliver did next made her eyes widen. He lowered his head and kissed the place she pointed at.
