The dream then ended, as Aesc said goodbye to Ritsuka as Ritsuka woke up, as then he went to the cafitaria, as he was seating with, Kama, Morgan, Mash, Ophelia, Olga, and Medusa..
Ritsuka just looked at Medusa. "um Medusa why are you looking at me like that".
Medusa just looked at him, blushing. "Noting just um, I notice you look exactly like someone from my past".
Ritsuka almost Choked on that as he spoke in his head. "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, did I Change the past, how, how do these things work, I blame my harem system"
Ritsuka felt his heart race at Medusa's revelation, panic coursing through him as he attempted to navigate the implications of her words. His mind was a flurry of thoughts, each one more alarming than the last. Did I actually change her past? What does that even mean for us?
He took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure. "Um, is that so?" he managed, forcing a casual tone despite the turmoil inside. "You must have some strong memories then."
Medusa fidgeted with her hair, a deeper shade of crimson blooming on her cheeks. "Y-Yeah, something like that," she replied, her eyes downcast. "It's just... you remind me of him in a lot of ways. But, um, it's not bad! Just... unexpected."
Ritsuka exchanged glances with the others at the table, his pulse still racing. Kama was watching him with a knowing smirk, while Morgan had a curious expression, her attention divided between him and the food on her plate. Mash, seated beside him, tilted her head slightly, concerned but not entirely sure how to respond. Ophelia and Olga seemed engrossed in their own conversation, blissfully unaware of the tension building in Ritsuka's mind.
"Just unexpected, huh?" Ritsuka said, trying to maintain a nonchalant attitude. "What kind of person was he?"
Medusa glanced up, her gaze searching his. "He was... someone special. A protector, I suppose. Someone who made me feel safe." She paused, her expression softening. "But he was also part of a different time, a different story."
Ritsuka felt a pang of guilt. Was he really stepping into someone else's shoes, or was he just a placeholder in her memories? "I see," he replied, trying to mask his inner turmoil. "Well, I'm glad to hear I remind you of someone who was important to you."
Kama chuckled, breaking the tension. "Aww, how sweet! Ritsuka the Protector. I can totally see it. But you should also remember, Medusa, that he's not the same person. You shouldn't get too caught up in the past."
Medusa nodded, biting her lip as she considered Kama's words. "I know that, but... it's just hard sometimes. Seeing someone who looks like him, it brings back a lot of feelings." She looked back at Ritsuka, her eyes filled with an intensity that made him both flattered and nervous.
Ophelia finally chimed in, her voice light and teasing. "Well, it sounds like you have quite the connection already, Ritsuka. Maybe you should explore this dynamic further. After all, a little nostalgia can be good for the heart!"
"Y-Yeah, but it's not like that," Ritsuka stammered, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks. "I mean, we just met! I don't want to put any pressure on anyone."
Morgan raised an eyebrow, smirking. "It sounds like you're more popular than you think, Ritsuka. Just make sure to handle it with care."
Ritsuka rubbed the back of his neck, overwhelmed by the attention. "Right. I'll do my best."
Medusa smiled, her blush deepening as she met his gaze. "I'd like to get to know you better, Ritsuka. If that's okay."
His heart soared at her words, mixed with a hint of apprehension. "I'd like that too, Medusa."
Kama leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Just remember, Ritsuka, with great power comes great responsibility. You've got a whole harem to balance, and we all have our pasts. Just be honest with each of us, and you might just create a beautiful future."
"Yeah, easier said than done," Ritsuka muttered, glancing at the others who seemed to be watching him expectantly. The weight of their expectations pressed on him, but there was also an undeniable thrill at the thought of exploring these new connections.
As they continued their breakfast, Ritsuka found himself more determined than ever to navigate this intricate web of relationships. He might have inadvertently changed the past, but he was ready to embrace whatever the future held.
Kama looked at him. "So this guy, what was he another god, but what was his name"
Medusa looked at him. "He was an angel, he never told me of his name to me and my sister"
Olga just looked at her. "Angel Exgist... GOD Exgist"
Kama just looked at her. "I am a goddess"
Olga looked at her. "I mean the one from the Bible"
Ritsuka shifted in his seat, feeling the weight of their conversation deepen. "Angels exist in various mythologies," he said carefully, trying to navigate the sudden theological debate. "But I didn't think they were part of the same pantheon as, well, everyone else here."
Medusa nodded, her expression reflective. "He was different, though. A being of light, someone who cared deeply for others. But he was also shrouded in mystery. I never learned his name, and it always bothered me."
Kama leaned in, clearly intrigued. "What kind of angel was he? Was he a warrior, a protector, or something else?"
Medusa frowned, her brow furrowing as she searched her memories. "He felt more like a guardian. He was always there when I needed him. But... there was something tragic about him too. I sensed he carried burdens that I could never understand."
Olga crossed her arms, her curiosity piqued. "So, he never revealed his name? That's unusual. Don't angels usually have a clear role or identity?"
Ritsuka caught a glimpse of something deeper in Medusa's eyes—a longing, perhaps. "Maybe he wanted to protect you from knowing too much about his true nature," he suggested. "Or maybe he feared that revealing himself could put you in danger."
Medusa nodded slowly, taking in Ritsuka's words. "It's possible. I often wondered if he was forbidden to interact with mortals like me. It's strange how those mysteries can linger, even after so much time."
Kama smirked playfully. "Well, Ritsuka, you seem to be living proof that angels and gods can intermingle with mortals. Maybe you should take some notes from this guy."
"Hey, I'm not an angel," Ritsuka protested, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips. "I'm just a regular human caught up in all this chaos."
Olga shot him a teasing grin. "You have a harem, Ritsuka. You're definitely not 'just regular.'"
"Right," he replied, trying to regain his composure. "But I'm still learning. I don't want to make the same mistakes he might have made."
Medusa placed her hand gently on his. "You're not him, Ritsuka. You're your own person. Just be yourself, and that will be enough."
Ritsuka felt a warmth spread through him at her words, her sincerity shining through. "Thanks, Medusa. I'll do my best."
Kama raised an eyebrow, a teasing smirk playing on her lips. "You know, if you ever want to find out more about this angel, maybe I can help you. I have my own connections, after all."
"Really?" Ritsuka leaned in, intrigued. "You could do that?"
"Of course," Kama said, her voice playful yet serious. "If you're willing to dig into the past, I can help you find out more about him, and perhaps help Medusa find some closure."
Medusa's eyes widened in surprise. "Would that really be possible?"
"Anything is possible with the right connections," Kama said with a wink. "But it might not be easy. Are you ready for that, Ritsuka?"
He took a deep breath, contemplating the weight of what they were proposing. "If it could help Medusa and clear up any lingering questions... then yes, I think I am."
Olga smiled knowingly. "Then it's settled! We'll uncover the mysteries of your past, Medusa. Who knows what secrets we might find?"
As the group continued to discuss the possibilities, Ritsuka felt a sense of hope growing within him. Perhaps he could help Medusa confront her past while also navigating the complexities of his new relationships. It wouldn't be easy, but he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Ritsuka then went to the storage room in Chaldea, he didn't want Kama to know either even if she did created the Harem System.
Ritsuka just sighed and looked at his system. "How did it happen"
[ You mean how you interacted with Medusa memory and maybe have changed the past or Medusa Memory ]
Ritsuka looked at the system. "Yes, yes, fucking yes"
Ritsuka leaned against the wall of the storage room, his heart racing as he tried to process what had just happened. The implications of his actions weighed heavily on him, and he felt a mixture of excitement and dread.
"Can I even change memories like that?" he wondered aloud, glancing around the dimly lit room filled with crates and equipment. "What if I messed everything up?"
[ Potential outcomes may vary. ] The system chimed in, its tone neutral as always. [ However, altering a memory does not necessarily change the entire timeline. There may be ripple effects, but it's also possible that only the affected individual experiences the change. ]
Ritsuka ran a hand through his hair, frustration bubbling up. "But what if Medusa remembers something that didn't happen? What if she falls in love with that version of me? Or worse, what if her sisters find out and it leads to chaos?"
[ Your concerns are valid. ] The system acknowledged, [ However, you have already established your own identity and relationship with Medusa, which may act as a stabilizing force. You must communicate openly with her to navigate any potential complications. ]
He nodded, knowing the system had a point. "Yeah, communication is key. But how do I even bring this up? 'Hey Medusa, I might have altered your past by talking to a memory of you'? That doesn't sound crazy at all."
[ You could frame it as an exploration of her past and your shared experiences. By approaching it with care, you can gauge her feelings without alarming her. ]
Taking a deep breath, Ritsuka focused on the task at hand. "Alright, I'll need to be careful. But I also can't let Kama find out. She might want to interfere or meddle in things she shouldn't."
Ritsuka shifted his thoughts as he rifled through a nearby box, searching for anything that could help him understand more about the memories he had touched. "There has to be something here about memory manipulation or divine interactions. Maybe even something on angels and their lore."
As he rummaged through the storage, he stumbled upon an old tome with faded pages. The title read "Mythological Interactions: Gods, Angels, and Their Followers." With a spark of hope, he pulled it out and began flipping through the pages.
"Let's see if there's anything useful in here…" he muttered, focusing intently on the text. As he read, snippets of information about angels and their interactions with mortals caught his eye, confirming some of what he knew but also revealing deeper layers.
One passage caught his attention: "Angels are often bound by their duties but are known to form bonds with mortals, sometimes leading to unintended consequences."
Ritsuka paused, the weight of those words resonating within him. "Unintended consequences... so it's possible I've opened a door I can't close," he murmured. "But there might be ways to navigate this."
He continued reading, noting various ways to approach angels and deities, including how to communicate effectively with them and manage relationships when past interactions became complicated.
As he absorbed the information, he felt a sense of determination rise within him. "I need to learn more, not just about Medusa's past but also about my own abilities and their implications. If I'm going to be a master in this chaotic world, I have to understand the rules of the game."
With a final glance at the tome, Ritsuka carefully tucked it under his arm. "Alright, time to face the music. I'll talk to Medusa first, then I can figure out how to deal with the sisters if needed."
As he made his way out of the storage room, Ritsuka felt a mix of apprehension and excitement. He was stepping into uncharted territory, but he was determined to support Medusa and navigate whatever challenges lay ahead.
He took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself. "Here goes nothing."
Ritsuka then stopped. "Harem points"
The system then spoke in a missives voice. [ About 200 points left ]
Ritsuka blinked and spoke. "... What did you do"
[ Rember when you said just buy a skill that will help me will here it is ] the text that Changed this made Ritsuka wants to strangle the system [ Memory reaction: It allows the host to see the memory of there harem member, even interact with them, the more involved host is with that member the more interaction will happen, changing the memory can alter the time do to the world making sure there is no Paradox ]
Ritsuka stood frozen in the storage room, his mind racing. "Wait, wait, wait—hold on! You did this without asking me?"
[ The system continues to learn and adapt based on your choices and interactions. This was an opportunity to enhance your connection with your harem members. ]
Ritsuka's frustration flared. "You can't just decide things for me! I don't want to change anyone's memories without their consent! What if this backfires?"
[ The system assures that the feature is designed to prevent paradoxes while allowing for meaningful interactions. ]
Ritsuka sighed heavily, feeling the weight of the new information settle on him. "So, I can see their memories and interact with them, but I have to be careful? That's a lot of responsibility."
[ Correct. The more you engage, the deeper your interactions will become, but the risks of altering memories are still present. It's vital to tread carefully. ]
He rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. "So, I could inadvertently change how they feel about me or even their pasts. And what if I mess something up? The idea of playing with someone's memories is… terrifying."
[ Caution is advised. However, consider the potential benefits. You may help them heal or understand their past better. ]
Ritsuka pondered this, thinking about Medusa. "I could help her confront her memories and perhaps understand how her past has shaped her. But I have to be mindful of the emotional weight that brings."
His resolve strengthened. "Okay, I'll do it. I'll use this skill, but I'll approach it like a conversation rather than a manipulation. I'll let them guide how much they want to share."
With a newfound determination, he glanced at the tome he had tucked under his arm. "This knowledge could help me frame the discussions I need to have."
He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of anxiety and excitement at the prospect of deepening his connections with his harem. "Let's start with Medusa. I need to talk to her first about what happened in that dream."
Ritsuka left the storage room, clutching the book tightly, his mind focused on what lay ahead. He made his way to the cafeteria where he had last seen Medusa, his heart pounding in anticipation.
As he entered the bustling cafeteria, the familiar chatter of his friends filled the air. He scanned the room and spotted Medusa seated at a table, deep in conversation with Kama and Morgan. She seemed a little less tense than before, but there was still a hint of apprehension in her eyes.
Ritsuka approached them, mustering his courage. "Hey, Medusa. Can we talk for a moment?"
Medusa looked up, her expression shifting from surprise to a soft smile. "Of course, Ritsuka."
As they stepped away from the table, Ritsuka felt a knot of anxiety tighten in his stomach. He wanted to ensure that he was delicate with his approach. "I wanted to talk about… what happened in my dream. About your memories."
Medusa's eyes widened slightly, and she shifted nervously. "My memories?"
"Yeah, I was able to interact with a memory of you and your sisters. It was… intense," Ritsuka admitted, searching for the right words. "I didn't mean to intrude, but I felt like there was a lot of unresolved pain there."
Her blush deepened, and she glanced away. "You saw my past…?"
Ritsuka nodded, taking a step closer. "Yes. I saw you as a child, scared and alone, and then I saw your relationship with your sisters and Poseidon. It was… complicated." He paused, gauging her reaction. "I just wanted you to know that I'm here for you. If you want to talk about it, I'm willing to listen."
Medusa's gaze shifted back to him, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "It's hard to talk about those things. They still hurt."
"I understand," he said gently. "But I think it might help. I want to help you work through it, if you're comfortable. And if there's anything you want me to know or if there's a specific memory you want to explore together, I can do that."
Medusa took a deep breath, her expression shifting from uncertainty to something more vulnerable. "I'd like that, Ritsuka. It's just… sometimes, I feel like I'm still that scared girl in the forest."
Ritsuka nodded, understanding the weight of her words. "You're not alone anymore. You have people who care about you, and I want to be one of them. We can face those memories together."
She smiled softly, her eyes glistening with hope. "Thank you, Ritsuka. I think I'd like to explore those memories with you."
"Whenever you're ready," he replied, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "We can take our time. No rush."
As they shared a quiet moment together, Ritsuka felt a renewed sense of purpose. He was determined to help Medusa heal and grow, even if it meant navigating the complicated landscape of memories and emotions.
But in the back of his mind, he couldn't shake the thought of the potential consequences of his new skill. He'd have to tread carefully, but for now, he was focused on Medusa and the journey they would embark on together.
To be continued.
