I forced Pure to let me down outside my bedroom door, a glare on my face. "What part of all that was I not clear about?" I demanded, almost wanting to stomp my foot in rage. But I wasn't a child, and I wasn't having a temper tantrum.
I had a valid need, even if none of the males seemed to understand that.
"All of it, Maitea," shrugged Pure as he kept a hand on my waist. "I will never leave you alone, and I am definitely not letting you into a room by yourself. I saw what you can accomplish on The Retribution; I don't want a repeat here."
"I am a grown woman," I snarled, flinging his hands off me. I was acting irrational, confrontational, and completely against my character. But I was tired… and scared. I needed some time alone to regroup and think about my next move and I couldn't do that with Pure breathing down my neck.
