"I'll try to figure out something," sighed Ba'dqeel, rubbing his forehead as the males on the Retribution's command bridge rose to their feet. As if one, they turned to Ba'dqeel and bowed low.

 

"Thank you for your exemplary service," replied Ba'dqeel, nodding his head toward the crew. "You are dismissed until called upon. Enjoy your time with your families."

 

There was a massive shout of happiness as the males quickly exited the bridge, leaving only me and my mates behind.

 

"I don't think that this is something you can just 'figure out'," growled Axis as he stepped forward. Reaching forward, he undid the seatbelt that I somehow forgot I had on. Taking my hand, he carefully pulled me to my feet as if I were about to shatter at any moment and then wrapped his arms tightly around me.

 

"Our mate's well-being comes first," he continued, looking over my head.
